  1. Gary Numan, city hall, Oct 8th 1979 - will never forget it Going to see him again next month on his latest tour
  2. Sorry for the delay in replying, I had to check with my parents. Strand St. was off King James St. near the junction with Grammar St. We lived at No. 4 and shared a communal back yard.
  3. The first 3 years of my life was spent in Walkley on Strand Street, which I believe was knocked down to make way for a new development (please correct me if I'm wrong). I have vague memories of it being just off a main road which was a hill down to one of the major roads. Can't remember very much, obviously but we were relocated to a house in Parson Cross where I stayed for the next 20 years and where my parents still live.
  4. Dr May was also our family doctor for many years, from the mid 60s right up until he retired. We even stayed with him when we moved from Walkley to Parson Cross. I always remember going into his room and he'd be there puffing away on a cigar, you could barely see him for the smoke! Brilliant doc though, you felt better just by talking to him.
  5. I was also at Mansel Middle schol in the early/mid 70s. I was a Dane (yellow) and ended up being the House Captain in the final year I was there. I can always remember having to go up to the stage with the girl house captain for the Danes (sorry, can't remember who that was) for the little trophy if the house had scored the most points in the previous week. Good times, it's a shame they don't do things like anymore.
  6. Here in Treeton, the clouds have gone and me & my daughter are hanging out of the window and have seen 4 so far in the last half hour. It's fantastic & my daughter is loving it. The fact that she's also seen Venus in the sky has just about toppped the night off already!
  7. Also went to Yewlands and left in 1983. Went to a reunion at the school last year and had a good laugh, although the boys toilets looked like they haven't had a clean in 20 yrs.
