  1. Maybe it's me, but I wouldn't dare advertise a job I don't have. We spend hours and hours of our day speaking to companies to secure positions from them, and when we get an opportunity, we then source candidates to fill that position. Occasionally you will find that you are invited into an agency, told that you will recieve feedback as soon as the company contact you, and then you hear nothing. This could be for a number of reasons. The company withdraws the position, goes to another agency with different rates or just refuses to contact you again. People are fickle animals and no matter how good a salesperson you may be, people let you down. We're not paid on 'how many candidates we bring in off the streets'.. We're paid for filling the positions we acquire with competent, qualified staff. Having been the 'recent graduate with excellent potential', registered with over 50 agencies and had very few opportunities, I've been on both sides of the coin, and yes it is annoying when you hear nothing. However I can now see the other side and realise how many factors are involved in getting someone a job, and I can promise you, it's not an easy ride.
  2. With the credit problems and pending recession, companies in general aren't offering much work which in turn gives recruitment agencies a bad name, because without the jobs to fill, it seems as though the agencies just aren't doing anything, but in fact they are. There are a number of agencies in the City centre. Try Linear recruitment on 0114 278 7799
  3. I was once told to take the labels off empty pop bottles and fill them up with water. Leave them lying around the garden (in the places that the cats tend to poo) and their own reflection will stop them doing it. Worked for my cat, but then my cat is as thick as ****...
  4. I don't know if it's something you'd consider at this stage but I work for a Sheffield based Recruitment agency. I currently have experienced management accountants and accountants available for immediate starts. Fees are negotiable (I know this is a major factor in recruitment) so PM me if you're interested and I'll see what I can do. Many thanks.
  5. Recently been given and old (but definitely working) Pioneer head unit and matching 6 disc changer to put in my J-Reg Polo. Head unit went in no problem, but the changer is proving more difficult. Where's the best place to mount the changer to avoid skipping? How do I feed the cable to the back of the head unit without having straggly wires everywhere? Where's best to drill a hole to put the cable through and how fiddly is it to feed the cable in afterwards? Where's the best earthing point on the Polo and will the cable reach if I have the changer under my driver seat? Any info would be gratefully recieved. The sheer fact that I'm driving a rusty J-Reg Polo should tell you just how much I know about car and ICE installations hahaha.
  6. Does the winder itself look like it will come apart? If it does, then it will. Pull it apart and you'll see a screw that you should just be able to screw back into place. I only discovered this a week ago after 4 months of picking the winder off the floor every time I shut the drivers door.
  7. Jesus it sounds like these little buggers can live through anything!!! So lets say confidently that the chances of Willow being completely gone, or dead somewhere are slim unless he's got outside. But saying that, some people on that website said they'd found them in the garden or slithering across the road!!! I'm a lot less worried about him being dead than I was, but terrified he's made it outside, cos it was wintery weather when he went, so if he's outside, his chances are very slim... Thanks for all your hope anyway guys, I really miss Willow and would love to find him healthy and happy.
  8. Well that's a ray of hope!! Thank you! Willow is a Ball Python, so notoriously bad with his feeding, however I'd just settled him into a good routine and he was doing well. Only thing is, the house is full of holes and nooks and crannies, he could be in the cieling, under the floor anywhere. I really hope I find him in the sink soon. I miss my boy...
  9. How long do you keep hoping an escaped snake will come back before you give up hope? Willow's been gone over 6 weeks now. I've had every inch of the house upside down and looked in every possible gap, tried all the traps and stil nothing... Is he dead now?
  10. Hole in the black bag or hole in the box mate? Thanks for the advice
  11. Sorry to hijack a post but CarpetViper did you devise any traps for my Ball mate? I've got flour across the doorways, plastic bags round the skirting boards, a fresh rat out and fresh water...
  12. Yeah fortunately for you a horse can't fit inside the cracks of the wall, behind the fridge or under the telly
  13. Hahaha, I felt exactly the same until I met Willow. He is the calmest, most subdued and awesome animal in the world. I hated snakes before I met him! Still no news luv.... Mortified...
  14. I know... What a sex-pad we live in hey? To be fair though, when the snake isn't roaming free, he is quite a sexy animal to watch. I dunno, maybe I'm just weird, but he is MY pet, and I want him back so much.
  15. Exotics... Definitely... Mine cost me 2.50....
