that's odd you should say that. As most of the poeple who have traditionally whined about the police doing their job has been black people. I actually spoke to a sensible black guy whose opinion i trusted and i asked him whether there was any grounds to the black charge of police racism back in years gone by. And he said yes and no. it was more complex than simple police racism. What you actually found at the time was that the police were scared of the real trouble makers in the black community and daren't touch them but used to take it out on harrassing relatively innocuous young blacks. Whch I can possibly believe.

I think most of the problem is with the young ones that are fresh out of training college and who let the uniform go to their heads. The police should definitely pair young recently qualified recruits with older more experienced policemen. They should not under any circumstances pair two young coppers up and partciularly they should be careful who they pair up with the female pcs because it can be the case that the male policemen want to show off to her. And that can cause a heck of alot of public bad will. i know one elderly mortorist pulled for driving too slowly around that notoriously dangerous hair pin bend in sprotborough by one such young rookie showing off to the bird they had paired him with. This i'm afraid is unacceptable. Police work can be dangeorus and it will only be more dangerous if the actions of an unprofessional few p*ss the public off. No policeman can be sure he won't at soem point be in the gutter getting his ribs kicked in and if the public have had enough bad experiences with the police throwing their weight aorund then there's just a chance they might not be minded to come to his assistance.

I was pulled up leaving my home in siddal street by two young rookies who proceeded to ask me by way of justification if I'rd ever been in trouble with the law.
