  1. he doesn't agree with immigration on a scale which has flooded London. like he says you walk the streets in the heart of our capital and you can't hear a british accent -then there's something wrong.
  2. Morrissey 'refuses to live in the UK because of immigration explosion' Music legend Morrissey is engulfed in a fresh racism row - after he said he refuses to live in Britain because of the "immigration explosion". The former Smiths singer, a native of Manchester who now lives in Rome, sparked fury by claiming: "England is a memory now." And he moaned that Londoners speak with "every other accent under the sun" except British. The comments have sparked fury among fans - with message boards slamming the singer. The star sparked a racism row in the mid-90s when he wore a Union Jack on stage while supporting Madness, and released a track about immigrants titled Bengali In Platforms. The solo star, who is the son of Irish immigrants, told NME: "The gates are flooded and anybody can have access to England and join in. "The British identity is very attractive, I grew up into into it and I find it quaint and very amusing. "Other countries have held on to their basic identity yet it seems to me that England was thrown away. "The change in England is so rapid compared to the change in any other country. "If you walk through Knightsbridge on any bland day of the week you won't hear an English accent. "You'll hear every accent under the sun apart from the British accent." Continued:the Daily mail
  3. Many people were bussed in. Eight coaches were organised from London by the UAF and Searchlight who have very extensive links to the Labour party and media connections.
  4. yes that's the BNP's area of weakness- that particular baggage from the past. A real gift to anti-fascists that they know they can hurt the BNP with as long as Nick griffin is leader i can't understand why Griffin should have made those remarks. Maybe he was being paid by the state at the time to be outrageous and deter moderates or maybe he didn't expect to become leader and have his words held against him as an indelible liability thereafter i would have thought his best strategy would be to take the bull by the horns and retract it and apologise. Even if it didn't neutralize the matter it would help the situation
  5. Yes they do.[hold peaceful protests]. It's the far left who turn up to make trouble. In the past leftwing groups have existed for the sole reason of violently attacking law abiding BNP meetings, paper sellers, leafleteers. No other country would allow such groups. In this country these groups were actually co-ordinated by a state connected magazine called searchlight. In point of fact the BNP don't do many protests as they generally spend their time electioneering. but they did a few years ago mount a small demonstration outside the British union of journalists office to protest against the NUJ's members' policy of not reporting racial attacks if they were perpetrated against white victims. I
  6. They both stand for the same things in terms of complete open door immigration, state laws banning free speech for british people and disdain for the interests of the white working class of Britain.
  7. leftwing protestors have breeched police security to stage a sit down protest in a hall to stop a debate on freedom of speech at oxford university after students voted 2 to 1 for the debate to go ahead. Anti-BNP groups bussed in demonstrators from far afield supported by new labour figures and media incitement in an attempt to thwart an invitation to take part in the debate given to the BNP leader. Funny isn't it how New Labour police can't protect a private free speech debate but could stop human rights demonstrators getting within even shouting distance of the Communist Chinese primeminister on his vainglorious procession through central london at blair's behest. Also it raises the question: does the far left in Britain stand for anything other than censorship, disrupting meetings by people they disagree with and opposition to freedom of speech?
  8. yes without a doubt they're not the caricatures they're painted as in the red top newspapers. likewise the french. I don't believe that as a nation we should consider any nationality some sort of traditional enemy. You'll find good sincere people, liberals and friends etc along with arseholes and the not so friendly in any national group you encounter.Life is about finding people of good motivation whereever you can.
  9. well yes okay. actually i wonder if those huts will stand being there until Christmas given that i don't think there are security guards. I should imagine excellent nooks that they offer every foot length of them will be peed on at some point in the next three weeks
  10. I think sheffield does have an alcohol problem. Maybe few of us have been actually attacked but I'm sure I speak for many when i say I've had unpleasant you looking at me type misunderstandings. The problem is that the binge drinking induced drunkeness strikes me as being a sort of joyless drunkeneness. I know pi*ssed people aren't people at their best. But someone in the Frog and parrot toilet last night asked me if i was having a good night. i said yes not bad and then innocently asked him if he was a student- mistake- this apparent innocuous question offended him and he became abusive. A trivial incident I know but it just creates that bit of a discordant note. I think people who drink and then start talking to strangers and then become uncivil to them for the most ridiculous of reasons shouldn't be drinking. There just seems with people to be this undercurrent of unhappiness beneath some of this booze culture.
  11. You're right I went out to a few bars on west street last night in my coat and had the **** ripped out of me. Still just because they don't feel the cold while they're binge drinking- it still can't be healthy.
  12. you see i just can't understand how some of you can wear a tee shirt tonight and yet go on holiday to tropical climes. I understand the body can adapt to the cold like arctic penguins. But these animals would die of heat of exhaustion within minutes in a tropical climate. So i just don't understand the scientific possibility. Some of you will go to the south of spain in mid summer. How do you square the two?
  13. I mean if you're body comfortable in a tee shirt on the streets tonight from a survival point of view what would you wear in florida where it's 95 in the shade?
  14. I have to admit I'm a bit of southern softie. But goodness me it's absolutely freezing out tonight even when you're dressed up to the eyes. What is this northern lunacy can someone tell me?
  15. yeah well truly all through the night barker's pool is a real hive of activity. We can hardly worry about a sausage stall disrespecting the cenotaph when students are jumping in the fountains and comatose girls lying on the paving nearby are being resusitated for drunkenness.
  16. the mock German bar is wonderful. i think it's absolutely sweet and charming and unexpected. I'm not quite sure why a german market is serving paella but still. Other than that I'm sorry I'm just sick of this Sun manufactured enmity with the Germans. It's an irony then if there's a nissan car in the vicinity of the cenotaph?
  17. well for goodness sake in a city in which every third birth is to a person of non native stock, are we really worried about a few German market stalls?
  18. Sorry i haven't read the foregoing discussion. But what I would say is that capacity benefit recipents include those people with mental problems. I understand the public concern about benefits going to people who may be undeserving but we can't really open to public information the personal circumstances of someone's pyschiatric disorder. Often times the receipt of benefits hinges on the support of the psychiatrist who must make his discision based on his assessment of the patient.
  19. It's an awful experience today. Long hastle and queues in overcrowded airports.
  20. God is it not getting to the point where there's so much mucking about with sheffield that it's becoming a pain. is it not tiring, people in crowded major streets trying to squeeze through bottleneck one and a half foot width of pavements as yet more streets are dug up and areas cordoned off in yet more ongoing and constant regeneration? Division street, the ages long work at Barker's pool, the station, the peace gardens which now all have fountains. Well whilst we remove fountains in other places, like fargate??? Meanwhile Devonshire green is closed off for a year...I know it's improvements overall but if we're constantly being disrupted by contant regeneration schemes...Wouldn't it be nice to just have a period where things were just left alone for a while and we can get where we want to be without inconvience for a change?
  21. yeah i agree often at that wholefood shop in barkers pool I've given up and left my stuff. I went into there today and there was just one person ahead of me, so i thought excellent. But there was a catch that person wanted alot of specialist advice from the till girl on particular supplements and was umming and arring for ten minutes.
  22. well yes I guess the market isn't aimed at people on the minimum wage. I mean i would like a little peach tart but boy are they petite and at £2... I'm afraid heathen that i am i make do with a good old yorkshire egg custard 37p or 4 for £1.25 from nearby thirstons.
  23. Too expensive? I know it's good for sheffield that Europeans come all this way to offer us their wares and I realise they have to make it worth their while. But what can you do when you're skint? I can't really justify 2 or 3 pounds for a slice of apricot pie however elegently elegently glazed it is.
