I suppose when you live in a area where the two primary schools are very high majority muslim/Asian......... it makes me feel angry, because my child would not fit in there, and I would not send my child there. so no local education. the hypocracy is though, that one of the schools is church of England! White people are been slowly pushed out of been represented. integration my arse! if there was integration, this wouldn't be happening, as there would be even distribution throughout the country, national parks included. i'd love a stove fitting. currently have a gas fire in the fire place, that uses the chimney as a flue. Is there a average price for the supply and fitting of a stove and new hearth thing? be nice to hear some average prices of peoples experiences???

I dont expect you to pay FULL fare. I think you should have to pay a low fare, the same as a child fare. Then i and others dont have the burden of paying for it to be totally free, like at present. God im glad i have a car!

But when you had to pay, so did OAPs. Since OAPs got free travel, fares for ordinary passengers have rocketed, because we are paying for your fare too!

If it is a joke, there will be some out there who would not say it as a joke. There are too many spongers out there, sat in a free council house, with 8 kids, all to a different father, benefits coming out of their ears, free this and free that. And the most strenuous thing they will have to do in the week, is go to the doll office to sign on, knowing full well that they will never work. THIS IS NOT A DIG AT HONEST PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN MADE REDUNDANT RECENTLEY, BECAUSE NO DOUBT THESE PEOPLE ARE DESPERATE TO WORK AGAIN.

Free bus fares for kids whoes parents are on benefits!!!!!!!!!!!!? I dont think so! They should be free for kids, whos parents actually work to subsidise the busses through council tax, if any thing. Fed up all ready of subsidising scrotes. Its about time tax payers got some benefits, after all we all ready pay the 'bennefits' to parents who are on 'bennefits'. In fact. do you realise where your free money actually comes from?????????

Yep, and you contributed to their pointless education, which got them a degree that will never be used for what it is intended for. I have no problem with people going to uni, if they pay for it.......... and if they cannot afford it, tuff titty, it should not be the tax payers burden. Sorry for the slight thread drift.

hmmmm, probably best. there are enough people out there with 'qualifications' from uni, which then go on to work in tesco or pizza hut. i and every other tax payer would only be expected to pay for your education. now maybe if the universitys turned more people down..............

Not surprised they are putting fares up, someone needs to pay for all the people who travel on busses for free, old people etc......... When i got on the bus the other day, i think i was the only person who actually paid. The other 36 people were old and paid nothing. £1.70 for a single to town, 2 miles away. I must use the car more often........... i could fill it with 4 more adults and the journey would cost less in fuel than the bus fare of £6.80 for 4 adults.

the argument does hold up, but with you not working for the rail industry, i dont expect you to understand! the four coach train you mention that follows, have you ever thought that this 4 car might of come off an even busier train in a completely different part of the country? take coaches off this train, and you have disgruntled passengers elsewhere! the south west trains which you quote, are not on lease. train companies do not borrow stock from others, for these are the days of privatisation. the trains you quote were part of a swap, and nothing else. we gave the south some of ours for some of theirs in return. so to sum up, there are no more carriages, just a few in different colours which have not been re-fitted or painted yet.

the train companies would love to supply more coaches for their trains. do you honestly think that they want to run 2 car trains on such services. the government, yes, the GOVERNMENT will not let the company have more coaches. so if the train companey then does put another coach in the train, it will have been taken from another train, just as short and just as busy. the train companies do not have enough rolling stock, and the government (dft) will not allow more rolling stock.

Bl**dy taxis waiting on Fornham street at the station went on strike today totally blocking access to the station. Its about time the council kicked the taxi drivers into touch. They have no respect for the double yellows, and park on the cycle line. Get them sorted, it wouldn't happen in Oxford!!!
