  1. Love the rants. It is going to get worst as you will notice that all the new busses will soon be shipped of and be replaced. As usual a promise of better services to be broken by the same company where the company's director got a knighthood from the Queen. Sir Lockeeeeeeeeeeeeeeead is et al should be your focus of any complaints. Stop venting your rants on SF and contact head office in Scotland if it is so important that you need a public transport system that is answerable to the public.
  2. So if information is within print you allow it to be regurgitated hear. Yet when this has been done where proof has been placed this so called forum pulled threads and posts. This is again double standard due to the fact you accept generalisations and reprinting of public information. Yet do you consider the consequences upon the parties who do not have the ability to react to accusations? There are topics that you consider unacceptable, but these topics are in print. As to veiled threats of bullying due “to following your own agenda” Where are the accusations and precisely which party is libellous? Is not getting both sides of the argument or dispute the issue hear? The company in question has made a damming generalisation that is specifically aimed at drivers as a whole. This type of propaganda has been used to simply belittle the reason for the company’s workforce for taking their action. By swaying the public away from the real issue. The failure of said company policy and procedure has to be questioned. It is this that the drivers have taken on. Yet these drivers are not allowed to openly comment on the working practices of First Group but are subjected to changes on hourly basis so the management can lay blame for convenience (see threads on this site for drivers supported when First Group deemed it financially viable to support a driver who had been prosecuted for dangerous driving). Therefore if you believe that all drivers hide behind veils then you are mistaken for those drivers who have openly questioned First Group have been sacked. Are you brave enough to do this? Or is your finger hovering over the delete button?
  3. So you believe everything you read? That is a sign of a well educated individual but then you do dwell in the slander forum where truths have been posted with evidence in place. Yet they are removed by the powers that be. So please keep jumping to conclusions as the narrow minded people you are. You want the truth go and work for the company in question and then with all honesty tell the world what really happens within it. Please remember been ignorant is an excuse for the inability to understand. To understand is to have knowledge. With knowledge you have insight. Fact: All employers can sack an individual for simply assuming they did something wrong with no evidence required to back up their accusations. They simply have to follow procedure. Employment law is totally different to criminal law whereby an employer has to show they followed procedure but do not have to place evidence at a tribunal. Do you got the picture yet? Ignorance is dangerous especially when there are those who want to debate a situation but do not want or try to find out the real truth. You take on a a global employer with all its money behind them and then stand up for your right to fair treatment. Because you will find yourself in a cold lonely place hoping that some one would be there to help you. Go on delete this post as well.
  4. If that is what you constitute a service then you have no idea in the meaning of the word or the lengths that First Management and Supervisors are prepared to go in their attempt to undermined the feeling of the its workforce. If you please note Mr Bus Man no names mentioned but just facts highlighted. Then you never know how fare First will go to get their own way do you!
  5. Members of the UNITE Union are not receiving support from their representatives at Olive grove. It is expected that any Union branch give freely to their members information with regards to their rights. These rights are not forth coming in particular circumstances. This would include in disciplinarians: Which course of action is to be taken due to lake of support and information from branch representatives. Inability of representatives to assure that members have council with their Union Representatives. Union representatives openly discussing with other parties of the content of their members formal interview with managers.
  6. Is Unite the union to powerful or scared of the truth? There will be a branch meeting Monday 18th May at 1930 Trades & Labour Club, Sheffield. Seven issues on the agenda but no mention of the petition that over 100 drivers signed to demand a vote of no confidence from their branch representatives. It is predicted that the two main branch representative will not recognise the petition in line with first managements recent denial of a similar vote placed to drivers about changes to work patterns.
  7. All the links and the original evidence has gone as predicted. Question is which individual/organisation complained for this to happen?
  8. Do not all businesses cherry pick their place of operation? It makes perfect sense, for if you chose an area to operate a viable business and get it wrong the inevitable happens.
  9. Repercussions? Think of it this way. If it was your child that got thrown of the bus and the child was hurt in some way who would you blame? Any bus company would lay blame at the driver as the alleged drivers are suitably qualified to under take the job. There for "the drivers etc are just to bloody scared, in case of repercussions" is un-true. For those who know the job and the repercussions stay within the law where vulnerable individuals are concerned.
  10. How often does it have to be said hear on SF that this company's only policy is push all drivers out on the road without correct training! Who is to blame the driver or company policy and procedure?
  11. Not only do they openly discriminate regardless of colour or sex. They also hold back replying to potential alternative employers. This means that the current operations manager and is immediate subordinates together hold back anyone they hold less favourable then them-self for what ever reason they chose.
  12. First as usual used the blame culture as to offset their reasons for such action.
  13. No, not at all. Just making a point on how easy it is and that this happens all the time. If you read carefully you will noticed that blame can be laid at any ones feet. At First the blame is always laid at drivers feet unless the company will be deemed to be held responsible. So if your talking of legal practises maybe you should take a visit to Olive Grove Depot and witness the culture that is been pushed upon subordinates by their managers.
  14. In the early days yes but now they have created a paper trail so it looks like the so called observation assessments have happened. Short answer to your question is NO.
  15. True, but then the drivers are trained to company standards and that training or NVQ is not worth the paper it is written on. Not only have First duped the general public into thinking it is making customer service their main priority they dupe the learning facility that issue the awards. So when it comes to poor or none existent customer service look at the people who say this training is legitimate. Also look at the customer service seminars held by the PTE. Again a token sham, yet the front-line staff will always take the brunt of the criticism. At the end of the day research can be manipulated to make it show and say what the company or its stake holders want. This is why you see all the findings of research is carefully worded. Its to protect the negligence of those in-charge of policy making. What the company says on paper is not how they practise.
