  1. Our youngest cat has problems with his teeth, we use Peak vets at Woodseats. They give free check ups . If you are at Burngreave I think the 75/76 buses come to Woodseats ( well they did when I lived at fir vale) unless they have changed. Peak are reasonably priced for stuff we have needed for our cats. Hope this helps.
  2. I heard that Marcus had died a few years back. But that could have been just another one of his “stories” going around. He may just have changed names........again !!!! Craig lived at Woodseats. His father owned the fishing shop on Chesterfield Road and they lived in the flat above, this would be 1979-1982ish. Lost track of him once he and my friend parted ways. i think Molody played The Mulberry a couple of months back
  3. Molody were indeed from Lowedges. Singer Steve Warburton “warby”, drummer Paul Manfridi (became a policeman I think), Paul Nicholson worked for Yorkshire water “Nicky”on bass and Ian Lindsey “Linz” guitar. They are gigging again in 2019, who would have thought that. Deaf Aids were Terry Gambles on vocals, Craig Waite on bass the others I can’t remember, we went to The Marquee in London to see them along with about 10 others. Great night. Saw them loads in and around Sheffield as one of my friends was with Craig.
  4. What I have noticed is that 90% or so of the people doing the u turns are VW drivers, I’m presuming they are going to JCT600. Also lately had a number of people turn , as if going into retail park, but turn on entry/exit road heading back to dual carriageway. Which is worse, u turn or turning on the entry/exit which holds up both entry & exit lanes? Some people just can’t wait so cause havoc for other Road users.
  5. I'd just like to recommend & give huge thank you to Sam@Dearne (07909 842 848) & Richard Berry (07759 498651), from the site who has done a wonderful job on my friends bathroom. ( she’s not on forum, but I recommended Sam as he had done an en-suite for us) Sam was busy, as all good tradesmen are but he managed to fit her in as she’d had a big leak in her main bathroom, he recommended Richard who does a lot of work with Sam, to come & do the tiling before Sam fitted the shower, toilet & sink. It turned out to be a much bigger job than first thought but they dealt with it, no problem. Both Sam & Richard gave her very good advice, & the work was done to an extremely high standard. The price was competitive too. The shower room now looks fantastic & she & husband are very happy with the results. Many thanks once again & highly recommended.
  6. There’s a farm on the right hand side just up from Wards Garden Centre (thru Coal Aston) They sell their own local honey.
  7. Apparently this was a resounding success. Over 50 tickets were sold and a good time was had by all .
  8. The Ale House, Fraser Road, Sheffield 8 has a large room that they use for markets and functions. She has meals on regularly and has some great curries would cook one on the premises for you without a problem. It is a real ale pub so beers are very reasonable and free WiFi. phone 0114 274 5515 or email alehousefraserroad@gmail.com
  9. Go on http://www.meetup.com it will ( by area) say what is going on, it's in sections , leisure, pets, social etc so it's easy to look at what you/ your mum is interested in.
  10. Can't see it being an Aldi as one at Millhouses & another in Dronfield. The building next to the college is Graves Leisure Centre, soon to be demolished as they are currently building the new one further along. Whatever they build, be it this retail park or housing or a mixture of both they will have to sort out the surrounding road network as its bad around there at times, and it will only get worse.
  11. Leisure centre still there still generating a lot of traffic. Doubt any fast food will be there as the school managed to stop a macdonalds being built where JCT6000 ( gilders) is.
  12. Doubt it will be on such a grand scale, don't think it would be much bigger than down at Meersbrook, where Matalan is, but I could be wrong.
  13. It's not on their website as yet, I found their details from the card we received. I actually thought people living locally would have all had a card from the developers, otherwise I would have put it on here. The developer is St James Securities, Leeds Email hellonorth@quod.com For an electronic version of the proposals
  14. Thats what they need to know about at the meetings. I'm hoping they have another one and that I can make it. M&S, Costa, a supemarket & pub / restaurant are being spoken of. I have emailed the developers to see if they can let me know if they do have another meeting. Any one with concerns need to contact their councillor /MP to voice concerns re traffic etc So no one on here went to the meeting then?
  15. It seems the rumours were true and that some of the site that Norton College was on is to be a retail park. Living locally we recieved a card from the company who are redeveloping the site asking locals to attend to see plans etc. Unfortunately due to work comitments I couldnt go. Did anyone on the forum attend? and what was in the proposals? What do others living in the vicinity think about the proposals?
  16. I will second these guys, just fitted a couple of composite doors, almost a third cheaper than previous quotes we got. We are very pleased with them , so much so they are doing a window replacement for us.
  17. We are thinking of cladding front of our our detached gareage with room over, would also like it insulated if possible. Anyone know if the cost is very high for a job like this? Prob looking at 15-20sq mtrs
  18. Mmmm food is slightly above average, however if you dont go in designer clothes dripping in gold etc you get treat very differently. We like to look nice when we go out but dont like overly expensive showoffy clothes and as such the staff we not as attentive as they were to others shall we say. Personally I will not darken Marco's @ milano ever again and would advise against it. You can ger better food elsewhere and with nicer staff.
  19. Yes Kitos and Marco's are both BYO wine, not sure about beers, but deffo wine. Kashmiri Aroma, how can I leave that out I was only there on Friday, in a word excellent, good food nice staff, you must try it. Swanky Franks , as you said, its nothing special , burgers at Woodseats Palace are always OK if you want a burger and cheaper. there is a nice chinese Restaurant in Greenhill, Beijing City, near the roundabout across from the school. Been a couple of times and its nice, not superb but if you dont want to drive far its good. Woodseats also has the Abbey pub that does food, I havent been there recently but heard the pies are good. At the bottom of Woodseats Road there is a persian restaurant, was called the Shiraz may have changed its name, but that is nice for a different kind of spicey food. Lived in Woodseats over 25years so have tried everywhere around, some good some not so good. As alternate geek has mentioned The Broadfield is just a bus ride away and the food is very nice and not too pricey, wines are dear tho.
  20. the little italian near Big Tree is called Marco's. We have been going there for quite a while, it is little and very dated but never had a bad meal there. Kitos is good as well, nearby restaurant wise is Viraaj, indian which I dont rate but plenty do.Swanky Franks is nice, for a burger or steak. Further down, towards Meersbrook are several more restaurants, Everest indian, good. Rushour, which I think is now a surf and turf place, and a few samller ones I havent tried. Woodseats has a good and varied amount of takeaways as well so give them a try, Sultans and kitchen king are particularly good. and welcolm to Woodseats..
  21. Why if you live in Bradway are you using Pit Lane, your sorting office is Dore, bottom of Twentywell?
  22. Kitchen Creations far better quality for the price, and the appliances are also better . Our new kitchen is Howdens ( fitted by Jeff the joiner) and now we have used it a while we wished we'd gone back to kitchen creation, (bottom of London road).
  23. But the thread's reading as if people thought it was still open, so I thought I had better let people know it had actually closed down a while ago..
  24. I thought that this had closed around 3-4 years ago.
