  1. Yes!! what's that all about 'hanging bags of dog muck' we get that in Dogmuck Valley (Shire Brook Valley). The council built a car park in valley for people to come from afar too? helps the fly tippers also...
  2. yep, saw a man yesterday morning on Mosborough Parkway near Drakehouse, swinging past me quite fast on a roundabout with hand and phone stuck to his ear?? must be driving an automatic?...
  3. Showing a little ignorance here, perhaps, but, does the judge get to know the history of said miscreant(s)???? before he would pass his 'hands tied behind his back' sentance???
  4. Sorry to read of that. How frustrating for you, £35. gone to somebody SO un-deserving, probably. I truly believe now from experience, that there is justice in this universe / mother nature, call it what you like. At some point you will receive back that unfairly lost £35.00 in some form which you might not connect with or realize initially; be mindful, i would be really interested to know if this happens, be mindful. The other...poor excuse of a human being, WILL DEFINITELY at some point now onwards, have something happen to them that results in them losing that £35. dishonest gain; unfortunately, they probably will not connect the loss to the dishonest gain and carry on until they evolve enough as a being to 'get it'. I am lucky to have had a few spiritual insights in the late 1990's early 2000's and TRULY TRULY BELIEVE in this, there is far more to life and reality than we are taught / know; no consolation to you i know but, just be mindful, it is going to come back to you.
  5. There was a shop down the bottom end of the Moor in town called 'Mad Alans' (i think) and they had some big packs in, chrome if i remember right. Probably sold out by now though? as they sold job lots. I have not been in recently though
  6. Why can't we, as a country, start building social housing again, and affordable housing (if there is such a thing). There is a big demand and plenty of derelict brown field sites AND!! plenty of firms / people ready to build 'em... WHY NOT, WHY NOT massive house building projects might actually help kickstart our economy. Can't we get a few (like minded to us) common people in power with the ivory towers lot... AND!! possibly NOT bother invading some middle east, desert killing fields and use the money saved for afore mentioned building projects.... that would shift a right wadge to a good cause. WHY CAN'T we have one less war at some point?? or is it the prefered option, too profitable and of course the other motives we can only quess.... SAME OLD SAME OLD (i am not totally against war by the way)
  7. Possibly, but!! not quite, cast iron can be broken down easily enough and mixed in/hidden; if you have a busy yard etc...
  8. 'Diversity, 24 hour shops, continental, oriental' etc - i totally agree:cool: I have occasional rant on here, but have to contribute to this by saying that; i have met people from many different countries around the world, (Libya, China, Poland, you name it) moving to, from and around Sheffield, over the past decade or so whilst doing the removals; and i have only had positive dealings and sometimes interesting conversations, revealing views on life and what really goes on in places, news and stuff. So, right honourable contributor, not my idea of 'hell'
  9. Yes, untie their politically corrected, trial by media times, constraining standard operating procedure(s)?- hands from behind their backs. These beings are not of an age where they can truly reflect on the consequence of their 'activities' and need to be taken out of society until they do. How long will it take for the common mass of decent people (some who talk sense and should be in high position, never mind those in ivory towers)to organize themselves and bring about REAL change...
  10. FREE PARKING for 3 hours EVERYWHERE, should bring in footfall to city centre. Help shops with passing trade too, as you can't even stop in places to grab a few bits from a corner shop without having to find coins for the councils 'bloomin' ticket machines. Quite often i have spotted a shop and thought ooh! i'll just pick up such and such and ended up driving too far away to park free and then not bothered. I am 40 now and remember as a child asking my grandma why a shop closed in town and her answer was our bungling greedy council that would have had something to do with it (rates/rents)... GIVE THE SHOPS A CHANCE TO EARN THEIR RATES AND RENTS... COUNCIL!!!!!!!
  11. !!!! for goodness sake !!!, why on earth did you not photograph said 'monster' and start a facebook group Oh dear
  12. I won't pretend to be a 'big house remover' but, tend to agree with bigsteve; odd situation can get bit sticky, relationship with an associate can turn bit sour, can seem very one sided, allsorts of 'crap' can crop up if you do not know the other party very well. Anyway, set up a price fixing cartel at £80. per hour
  13. How much was it to get in then How exciting for the youth of today !!! If it is away from people's houses, then............. 'let it roll' Accceeeeeeeed got any 'charlie'
  14. Said offender might be in to 'scat' and wanting to find a kindred spirit.
  15. more often you will see them only very briefly if you are lucky as they rely on taking birds by surprise. They fly fast and low just over and through vegetation when on the hunt. You are more likely to find a Sparrowhawk sat in your garden, Kestrels prefer open country and often perch on power/telegraph poles. BUT!! as a youth on Hackenthorpe estate, we had a Kestrel come to roost in winter underneath a neighbours eve's, right in middle of estate!
  16. Time was, when you knew who had written on a wall, who they were seeing and possibly the date, BUT now ...JJHHEEESSSSZZZZ Murals on/in grim areas are fantastic!!!! The irish paramilitaries/nationalists know how to paint a house side so you notice it
  17. Yes!! social housing is a very good thing, flats ideal for single people etc etc, but, sadly it seems these areas are ruined by the few that find it easier to conform to the foul mouthed, disrespectful, obnoxious could'nt care less attitude of their peers than have the strength of character/backbone to stand appart and show common respect for others. BUT! i don't think this life/world is meant to be a utopia; we are all evolving in to better beings and this life is where we 'do the practical' so to speak, make mistakes and learn in order to evolve, talking spiritually of course. So, this 'lower strata' of people are a little bit behind most of us in their evolvement, just a shame we have to live amongst each other. I agree about lumping like with like though, i was told by a civil servant that this is sometimes put in to practice, although it could never be officially made known i suppose ???? i expect it would be a big vote winner across the UK though

  19. hiya Just noticed your thread on which way to turn re:care work Well- a few years ago i thought i wanted to try going for nursing and so took a health care job in a private care home. I worked on an EMI ward, oh dear! what an eye opener. It was stuffy, often understaffed and depressing. Stuck in that environment for sometimes 12 hours (as i wanted to do 24 hours a week over two days as i am also self-employed) Short staffing can result in you being asked to work extra shifts and obviously can create more work for who ever is on AND less time/care for residents! This i know, as my sister too recently worked in a seemingly permanently under-staffed home; that situation does not result in job satisfaction at all, just stress and occasional frustration. This is only what i know though and what my sister has told me. - In the block i live there is a lady that has carers that come around at different times of the day. Anyway, i cleaned the carpet of one of them and got talking- she said that she much prefered having her own round of clients to go and visit. She had the freedom to organise her own day giving her oportunity to nip home etc as long as she got them all in. She did not mind the 6'oclock starts on a Sunday morning say, as she liked her job and beeing left to organise herself. - I did a removal for a couple at the weekend and this gentleman worked for the council as some kind of care worker for people with severe disabilities. He would help them as and with whatever they needed help with THIS ALSO includes going out with his clients, shopping, cinema, day trips AND holidays away ALL paid for and paid with normal wage. A colleage of his, he told me, is or has(i can't remember) been away with a client on a foreign holiday for two weeks fully paid for and earned him/her about £2 grand !! Not bad eh!! these jobs do exist. I think some you can live in for two weeks with a client and then have two weeks off; helping to improve these peoples lives, which i think is good. - Anyway, good luck, hope this helps you a little with the direction you are about to choose to go down Andrew
  20. Perhaps a good idea for The Sheffield Forum to have a Friendship/Dating section!? I expect there is, maybe, a lot of of single people who would be a good match for each other, but their paths in this life never cross. I would sign up
  21. perhaps showing my ignorance here as it has been a while since i drove in to said country park BUT!!! is it not off season now and therefore free to enter and park??? It used to be did it not?
  22. Hey Barbiegirl Just google Meadowhall retail Park and i think the second link down gives you all the store's telephone details, then, pick up your telephone... Would you survive a day without a retail therapy fix?? The co-op is open today if you are that desperate
  23. Yes!!Irwin Michell i think was recommended by a lawyer i know to my brother. My lawyer friend has said to not bother going to these 'fast track' accident claim firms that stop you on the high street etc. Who are we non-lawyers to argue.
  24. Absolutely discusting, find out where said offender(s) and their 'poo machine' live and return it along with a note saying where from. I grew up with dogs and we never let them leave 'butt cake' on a pavement.
  25. Never mind Morrisons for your fuel !! they put a penny or two on to pay for the morrisons miles card, £5 money back thingy they have running at mo. JET (i think it is still called) on Retford Road,Woodhouse Mill is usually cheaper. That could be a new thread idea here on the Forum- cheapest fuel in Sheffield
