  1. SLICK!! refreshing change to having guns and knives waved in your face, like my poor brother had to suffer a few years ago...
  2. If you Google -'Sheffield Centre For Massage Training' then you can enquire as to said training dates/price etc. It is based on Montgomery Road, Nether Edge, sheffield.
  3. Some yellow, maggoty, weasel **** excuse of a young man grabbed my 6 year old niece's arm a couple of weeks ago in Hackenthorpe (which is not far away at all), with goodness knows what intent; thankfully scared off/near miss. It certainly hits home HOW we all have a DUTY to look out for each other, be vigilant.
  4. We ALL, are spiritual beings having a human experience, evolving in to better being's (well, most of us); shuffling in the same direction with our lives on this mortal coil, back home, which is just a thin, gossamer 'veil' away. And! we ALL are going to find this out, and what a surprise it is going to be for some...
  5. Can't believe all this fuss about... nothing, compared to what goes off in this world... No good being a mild mannered, meekly type dealing with what they sometimes come up against on a typical shift; 'dirty job...'
  6. Thats interesting because, back in the late 90's i was driving back from Stockport late one evening, on a night that was forecast for people in the U.K. to see meteor lights. I was driving along the B6054 Moor Road and had just passed Mickley Lane off to the left at Mickley, and, on approach to Barnes Lane (track off to the right) a MASSIVE streak of green light came down on the other side of the hedge on right on bend in road. This was a fantastic experience as it was very bright green on a dark night/area and came down almost straight in front of me 30-40ft away. Always felt i should have got out and tried to find what should have been a smouldering blob of something? So! i reckon that is what you may have seen, hey, not too far either from your sighting!? Unless of course it was aliens crash landing back in to middle earth
  7. I think 'Shogun' (aerials fitter) is being very responsible by ensuring the aerials are recycled by giving them to his scrap collector associate; they are obviously not being dumped down some 'green lane'. If he is 'committing a crime' then it just goes to show how ridiculous it's getting. If i was setting up as a haulier or waste disposal operator then, yes, i believe in regulations and the need for an operating licence structure and i would play the game, BUT! There has been a long tradition of private individuals and tradesmen that put aside scrap and have a weigh-in at the scrap yard on occasion, maybe once every few months or once every few years; applying for a licence to do that would seem, well, not worth it or unreasonable / not needed. I am a little out of touch with situation at moment, can you go to a scrap yard with just full ID and NOT have to show a licence?? and be able to of-load/sell your scrap metal. SURELY, anybody from the EA/police/council 'on the ground' dealing with this, would be able to exercise their discretion, especially if Shogun was to visit a scrap yard with his aerials. I cannot see that he would be arrested/fined for RESPONSIBLY desposing of LEGITIMATELY received aerials or any other odd-bod bringing in occasional load; who would appear to be quite obviously not a regular operator. I respect that 'Chez2' reads the small print and may get paid to regurgitate it to whoever (good for him, no disrespect) but, i would be interested to learn from the 'enforcers' what their attitude is to the occasional scrap loaders, surely they use their discretion, i hope they still do.
  8. what about the A57 walker??? Not seen him for a while, bit worried.
  9. "looking through gardens"...luxury... we lose power, the lights go out in Woodhouse when they cut down the power line wooden poles! to have away the copper power lines; it's old, oxidised copper, expect they get less for that?
  10. Can anybody recommend or know of a firm that would sell replacement full length wardrobe mirrors. The mirror is about 1&1/2ft x 6ft ish. Surely there is a firm in Sheffield??
  11. Ha! oh dear... we have JUST started 'getting hit with it' on Skelton Estate in Woodhouse heading to Co-op on the pavements and occasionally grass verge...ssstttonking piles, from a 'Rottie' walker think...
  12. I don't know... whatever happened to those innocent times of hardcore coin punch and cosh's...
  13. Never mind a bloomin 'tab end' in town!! If there are undercover people doing that kind of work, then they would be better employed trying to catch up with the 'minority' of Sheffields youth that trash local green areas with larger cans and bottles, bags, fag packs, snack wrappers and stuff. Ive seen before now, locally, in a great wildlife pond... green larger bottles floating on surface, along with fencing ripped off and thrown in, odd glass bottle smashed waiting to cut some poor dogs foot. They would be better off collaring these 'zombies' / 'wreckers' who do not deserve to live near or belong in local green oases.
  14. Yep! 'cardboard' criminal justice system...
  15. Fully agree with the above statement. I am not a home owner yet, but i hear some of the same comments from people moving out of some new houses; seemingly wafer thin walls... no 'partitions' more like, hearing neighbours 'sneeze', 'toy town' pretend houses:rolleyes:. I just think how so, the sign of the times... i expect a good, solid new house (do they exist) would be too expensive for most. I am told that houses built in Sheffield during the 1930's are generally good and solid.
  16. If you have somewhere to stay, then you could consider temporary storage, Big yellow or removal firm with pallet van and storage of pallets. Get your gear moved out on the day when you get the green light from solicitors and straight in to storage. Then sort out your new floors etc in your own time, giving yourself a clear run of new house to get everything in order/how you want it. Storage for a week or so would not be too expensive, i would definitely do that, make life easier for yourself if you are able to££.
  17. Hope said young lady 'Amina' will not be avenged by 'whichever' males would try to harm her. Very depressing to hear of these stories, along with all the other 'wrongs' in this world. I would SO, SO love to be stood in the presence of Jesus Christ (who is very much in existence/ an entity) AND! the Islamist cleric Adel Almi, president of Al-Jamia Al-Li-Wassatia Tawia Wal-Islah explaining himself/views on said topless event... There is natural justice, in the 'universe' if you like, and that we are all accountable to ourselves, our thoughts, intents, actions as individuals in that respect; BUT! as inspector Goole said in the socialist, J.B.Priestly's excellent play 'An Inspector Calls' "we are all part of one body" and we are, we are all connected spiritually. Wrongs in this world may be committed with seeming impunity by some groups / individuals but they are seriously affecting their own evolvement / future. We are all on our own journeys / paths in this life and these 'people' are inadvertently obstructing theirs. I know some people are enlightened enough and will agree with me on this one; that, there is a far bigger picture than just this physical life, we are spiritual beings and affect and steer our own course...
  18. No disrespect Bassy but, no it would not! Blue badge holders first offer, disabled, council tenants etc anyway, there are about four categories of people that would have first refusal and then failing that, at the particular point in time the next person on the waiting list would be contacted. You put your name down and...wait, could be for seven years! depends on the time one could come available and who would accept it at short notice. All fair enough. Not a short term, required soon option. They are soon to be put under a management review, situation could change, but i expect not much.
  19. Ha Ha Ha! yes, they'd rip it out of your hands that fast you would lose fingers
  20. You'll not store that lot for the price you want, i expect, when firms have all their operating costs to factor in. You CAN though! rent a twenty foot steel shipping container for as little as £10.00 per week plus VAT; BUT! finding somewhere to locate it is the problem. You would have to pay ground rent to somebody if you can find a place that would do it.
  21. Regarding said 'Mosque' What a refreshing, fantastic, interesting new building to look at; recently i helped a family move from virtually next door and would have loved to have had a look inside; surely, hopefully! these fresh, well built? new buildings rising up in old areas are positive and regenerative...surely. AND any building work during these 'lean times'... bring it on
  22. Endcliffe Park litter free:)...mmm, interesting, lot of / mainly private housing on that side isn't there?... might be a correlation there? Non of this a surprise at all, is it... expect there always has been, down through time and on-going today, a (minority?) strata of society that are selfish, ignorant s****. ---------- Post added 05-03-2013 at 20:02 ---------- Great... indeed justice yes! respect to 'scary GSX1100 rider'
  23. Ha! yes, not a good idea handling/rolling that bale with said children around your ankles, but!! they'd love climbing all over it:love:
  24. Rip cover/stuffing etc off mattress and then leave spring frame/mesh out for metal collectors. Same with settee, but then burn wooden frame:cool:
  25. Keetons deliver a round bale of grass to you from Woodhouse area SE Sheffield...
