What is the best thing to happen to you today? (part 2)
Ouija replied to demoniac's topic in I'm Bored!
Well, yes He's been saying "dirty" for ages. One of his first words. I think he will be hosting his own Kim and Aggie style show by the time he is ten. "How Clean Is Your Street" or something. -
They can't claim whether it was their fault as not as they aren't covered on Third party fire and theft (say for injury to themselves, damage to the car etc). They could only claim for their vehicle if it was fully comp. Any innocent party could claim against them, though.

My son said a new word -
That was how I found out it was fake when I handed it over and the centre fell out. But I knew which shop I'd got it from, so I managed to wedge it back and spent it there the next time I went. I did hand it over very carefully the second time around.

Spend it. I had a fake £2 coin once - the centre fell out! I spent it back at the shop I got it from.

Managers coming to visit you when off sick
Ouija replied to rockchick80's topic in General Discussions
I've wondered that myself. It's never happened to me but I've known some places do it, and other places say they're not allowed to even ring employees if they're off sick. -
Haven't most people? Interestingly I've had a few comments from people I would have said were even less attractive than me. My favourite comment was from a girl at school years ago who called me fat. I've no idea how she managed to not notice everybody staring at her in amazement (even her own friends) as she was easily twice my size! I have noticed that a lot of the people who use this insult are often not oil paintings themselves....

Run down areas? What do you do for a living?
Ouija replied to spirit guide's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I used to live in one rough(ish) area and I worked in an office. Quite a few people on my road also worked. But there were also those who did conform to the stereotype as well. Less than there were who didn't, I thought, but the ones who were causing trouble were always so much more noticeable and there always seemed more of them! It's pretty similar where I am now. The bad are in the minority but as they're always the first ones you see/notice, many people assume that everybody is like that even though they're not. -
They mostly seem to be given out with the cheese slice stuff. I prefer real cheese. Although I can eat the cheap nasty stuff on a burger even though I couldn't stomach it normally.
-
Absolutely But, why not? That's what I'm curious about. Who does it hurt - and why???
-
Inspired by another thread. But why is it so wrong to be ugly/plain/not particularly attractive? Why is it anybody else's business to comment/criticise/attack people purely on the basis that they don't find the 'ugly' person attractive?

Can a company demand that a low paid employee wear expensive clothes ?
Ouija replied to bobbie's topic in General Discussions
I don't know about insisting on expensive clothes. But a dress code, yeah, most places have that. I'd agree with what other people have said. You can pick up reasonably priced suits and if he was to go for the basic black and mix/match shirts/ties, he could kit himself out for work without spending a fortune. -

No, my option isn't there, is it? -
How cheap are you wanting? They have some in town, which can be transported by the buyer instead of waiting for a delivery. But it depends what you're after and how much you want to spend, of course. The ones I saw are memory foam starting at around £150 (for a double) which seems not a bad price, considering what some places are charging. Plus saves on delivery as you can take them home the same day.

Ouija replied to mh01's topic in I'm Bored!
There should be an "I don't mind either way because I don't read FHM" option. Although, I am curious why you've have given the poll multiple choice when there are only two (opposing!) options -
I'm happy with the interior. I've decorated it just as I like. The kitchen is quite nice but not to my exact tastes yet. I don't like the garden, it was a mess when I got it and it's a mess now and I'm not skilled enough to sort it out. I'd quite like to move but take my house with me because the area's not great. But overall, yeah I like my place.

I think she did hand it to the woman who heard us at the counter. Although I don't see how it could have been hers. I wish I'd kept hold of it and found the owner myself now, but these things happen.

You've moved into a new house. What would you change?
Ouija replied to foxy lady's topic in General Discussions
That's even worse! It's camping for me, from now on -
Yes, waxywolf home educates, as does Hennypenny and Frolikalki and hopefully I will be doing too when my son is school aged. I think a few more do as well, but can't remember their names....

Oh what a thought. But old people.....could still be a wetting the bed issue if they don't wake up in time. This thread has now put me off hotels for life. -

I think they replace the mattresses if people do unmentionable things on them. I have wrapped a duvet round a mattress at one flea infested place, though
