  1. Has anyone taken advantage of this yet? On the face of it, it looks like just what we need. But I don't actually know of anyone who has used the scheme and I'd be interested to hear other peoples experiences before we follow it through any further.
  2. At a school like Intake there is really no excuse, there is no shortage of parking on the smaller roads round the back - people just need to walk a bit further! Also they have an agreement with the Co-op down the road to use the car park. Other schools have worse parking issues tbh!
  3. Have you had a letter from Silverdale saying they are closed? I've not heard anything!
  4. £3.50 an hour for nursery?? Where? The one my daughter goes to is £4.40 an hour, some I looked round were £5 or even £6 per hour!! If you're on a low wage, you're sure to qualify for some help for childcare through tax credits.
  5. Thanks all. Advice really appreciated. Plan to give notice as soon as we exchange (hopefully tomorrow).
  6. Cheers for the advice :-) Not sure what he's playing at, but so glad I was brought up to be suspicious of signing anything without all the facts!!
  7. Hmm, that was my suspicion...so am I right in thinking the agreement we have already still stands?
  8. After renting for 2 years, we are 3 weeks away from completing on a house purchase. I was under the impression that after the last agreement we signed with our landlord we were now on a rolling month-by-month contract. However landlord has just come round with a new 12 month agreement and said he needs us to sign it, to show to the taxman, but that we can still give him a months notice when we want to move as previously agreed. Is he right, or are we tied in for 12 more months if we sign it???
  9. I know there have been threads about this before, but nothing that recent. So, where would you recommend for ear piercing? Clean, safe, friendly etc. Thanks
  10. Cheers all Walking it would be great, I'd love to. However for so many reasons, it's just not an option!
  11. Thanks, sounds like it may not be too bad. It's complicated, but starting a new job. Will be setting off from near Collegiate crescent campus around 8 and need to get to Carter Knowle via Silverdale school...any alternative route suggestions welcome. Could do Psalter lane, but not sure how much time it would save that time of day??
  12. Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the traffic is like on Eccy rd coming OUT of town towards Ecclesall Rd South at around 8am on a weekday morning. Thanks in advance
  13. I would really recommend researching primary schools before you decide where to buy the house you plan to live in. In areas where there are decent schools, 3 bed house tend to go for a lot more than £100k. If it was me I would spend the whole £200k budget that you have on a nice house in a nice part of sheffield with good local schools, amenities etc.
  14. It's a lovely road! We are in the process of buying a house there ourselves, having rented in the area for a couple of years. It's a great family area: quiet, safe, good amenities etc.
