Does anyone know anywhere in Sheffield you can buy a strap for tennis elbow? I used to go to Paramount on Glossop Road but it's closed now. Thanks.

Sainsburys at Archer Road has a recycle bin which says if they can't sell they recycle as insulation. -

School teachers to be paid by performance
AngelAnnie replied to Staunton's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I know this would never happen but what if.... Teachers were paid on the number of students who made Grade C at GCSE And then the government changed the threshold so that fewer students achieved Grade C? Then teachers would forgo their pay rise, or receive a reduction in salary and the government would save money. Like I say, it would never happen... -
My 2 year old daughter fell on a plastic box at nursery. She caught her eye on the corner and had to go to hospital to have stitches. She has a small scar. She has suffered no emotional distress because we didn't pursue the incident, we just got on with our lives.

Peer massage in schools where do we stand??
AngelAnnie replied to rachett125's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
This thread has really got me thinking! 1. Why do parents think that schools would do something that was likely to harm their child? Schools (staffed by educated, CRB checked adults) will do what they think is best for the children in their care. 2. I'm sure schools think carefully before investing in initiatives like this. It will no doubt have cost a great deal of time and money to train the children and the staff. 3. I think it's sad that children need calming down after playtime. I worry that children are angry because they see angry adults who demonstrate angry behaviour. 4. If, as a parent, you are seen to undermine your child's school and the staff who work there, it is likely that you will have problems with your child's attitude to school. -
Doctor recommendations - S11

I've always been very happy at Bents Green Surgery. Receptionist very welcoming, and I can usually get in for an appointment at short notice. -
There are a few people like that around. My advice would be - 1. Don't take it personally, they are the ones with the problem, not you. 2. Be glad that you are better than them and you don't have the kinds of issues they obviously have. 3. Move on and spend time with real friends who will be there for you when you need them. Treasure these people. Good luck xx

Where to dispose of analogue TV and VCR
AngelAnnie replied to DUFFEMS's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
My analogue tv is working with a set top box (£5). Only bbc channels at the mo, but apparently when they boost the other channels, I'll be able to get them all. -
Carbon Quids Scheme Discussion

I'm certainly not suggesting that we cheat! Simply trying to find more ways to be carbon efficient. Think of all the shoe leather we could save! -
Carbon Quids Scheme Discussion

Let's just say someone could be bothered to walk, cycle, jog, skateboard up and down Ecclesall Road and find and list all of this numbers, why wouldn't they just post all of the numbers on a public forum and thereby save everyone else all the hassle? -
I think it's called 1530 - after the date it was built.
