  1. Saturday 18 March 2017 3:00pm to 11:00pm Old Sharrow Junior School, South View Road, S7 1DB Map We are delighted to invite you to the next Ganapati Groove mini festival. There will be live music, yoga, dance, kirtan, massage and arts & craft activities for all ages. As ever, there will be a feast of veg, vegan & raw food and cakes. Come join us and embark upon a journey through the healing vibrations of mantra, yoga and dance meditation. With our very special guests Avalon Roots, Tim Chalice, Tom Simenauer and DJ Darshana. Avalon Roots Avalon Roots was originally birthed in the heart of Glastonbury, UK, and is an eclectic band of musical players, directed by Caribbean born lead singer & songwriter ‘Green T’. Dedicated to creating good earthy vibes & warmly encouraging all people to sing & dance together, they lead a nomadic lifestyle around the UK & beyond. With a distinctive blend of soothing ‘plant matrix mantras’ & roots reggae infused soul songs, Avalon Roots sing a simple & universally accessible message. Following many years of improvising live & exploring different musical themes, the first Avalon Roots album ‘Creation’ was released in early February 2015, on ‘Temple Monkey Records’. At Ganapati Groove, Avalon Roots will be sharing an acoustic set with us, with a small but perfectly formed band line up. Can’t wait! Tim Chalice Tim sings Kirtan, devotional music from the Bhakti tradition. Tim runs monthly Kirtan sessions in Bristol and Bath and has shared Kirtan at Bhakti Yoga gatherings throughout the UK. He has also released three CDs, the latest of which, ‘Give It All Away For Love’, was released in 2016. As Tim writes: “This practice of chanting is a great source of joy and nourishment. I love the depth of silence that is achieved by chanting and this is an essential element of my sessions. I use meditative and ecstatic chants with Sanskrit mantras and English words, accompanied by simple melodies accessible to the Western ear. The repetition of these chants is a powerful and transformative practice, taking us deeply into our hearts. Chanting provides an opportunity to sing out without fear or judgement, dissolving feelings of separation and awakening compassion.” Conscious Dance with DJ Darshana DJ Darshana will be leading a whole new conscious dance at the event. Expect another cosmic alchemical fusion of dynamic beats, divine disco, world tribal grooves and devotional chants that will take you on a journey into bliss. At Ganapati Groove DJ Darshana has everyone up dancing, young and old, and it is a highlight of the evening for many. Family Yoga and Adult Yoga As ever there will be family yoga with Joanna Bertzeletos of Yoga Nature. There will also be two taster sessions of adult yoga with local yoga teachers. The world of yoga is so huge and varied these days, why not give a different style of yoga a try? 3. Hi there friends, I hope this email finds you well. I have four spaces available in my Monday morning class at the Stillpoint Practice on Montgomery Road. The new term starts on 4 April. The classes are intimate so you get lots of 121 attention. They are suitable for all levels as I share a range of levels so you can choose the one that suits you the best on the day. 6. Hi there friends, We would like to introduce you to “Yoga for Everyday People” (YEP). Having researched the internet, yoga magazines, DVDs, books and more Ben and I were pretty much fed-up with not being able to find people like you and me practicing yoga. Hence the birth of YEP. On YEP you will find short video clips where we focus on a particular theme/yoga practice and we give step by step instructions of how to explore that theme or practice. WARNING! You will not find any acrobatics, contortions or tiny, tiny hot shorts here! For the first series we are looking at rocking da pelvis, segmental mobility of the spine and maintaining a healthy back. We are doing this by looking at a variety of yoga postures starting off with bridge and cats. Please make sure you honour the needs of your body and watch clip 2 which has a health disclaimer on it. We hope you enjoy them. ♥ Episode 1 – Introduction ♥ Episode 2 – Health Disclaimer ♥ Episode 3 - Rock da Pelvis, Back Health and Bridge ♥ Episode 4 – Rock da Pelvis, Back Health and Cat Pose With warmest wishes, Jo and Ben http://www.yoganaturesheffield.org.uk jo@yoganaturesheffield.org.uk 07816 540 261

  12. Hi there Kate, Many thanks for your post. That is great that you and your kids would like to try out the workshop. It starts at 11am with the facepainting. The workshop is geared towards families so if you wish you and your 2 year old can join in and do as much or as little as you desire. I find that 2 year olds can do about 15 to 20 minutes of yoga. So this will probably be the same for your littl'un and she can watch the rest of the kids playing yoga and join in and out. In fact that goes for everyone who attends. They can do as much or as little of the workshop as they desire. I have placed your name plus 2 onto the list. Please do advise if you prefer not to be on it so I can offer your spacees to someone else. If you need any further info please do get in touch. Look forward to meeting you all in a couple of weeks. Jo x http://www.yoganaturesheffield.org.uk jo@yoganaturesheffield.org.uk 07816 540 261

  15. Hello there friends, Our new website has gone live… It is Yoga Nature Sheffield's 10 year anniversary this year and to celebrate as well as having a party on 6 September (find out more on the homepage of our new website) we have designed from scratch a new website. This new version is much more user friendly, easier to read and you can access class info, timetable, workshop details and more all at a click of a button. Please do have a good exploration http://www.yoganaturesheffield.org.uk but if you are stretched for time I would strongly recommend at least glancing at the following pages… In the about section – About Yoga - you will find an absolutely brilliant article on the history of yoga and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, it is a must read; Still in the about section – About the teacher – you will find info about me but more excitedly some info about Ben’s yoga journey and what his role is going to be when he completes his PhD. Ben is going to be doing a lot more of the admin and also getting more involved in workshops and retreats. Hurrah! The Media page is outstanding and is very context rich, you will find galleries here and youtube clips. Plus we are hoping to add some recordings of classes here through “soundcloud” but at the moment you get to hear the joyous laughter of a Kookaburra; In the classes section you will find the Autumn/Winter term schedule of workshops; Finally we now have a blog page and on this page you will find an article on why it is important to meditate, the deity of the month and a small snippet on why the humming bee breath is good for you. We will endeavour to keep this updated on a monthly basis. We are really proud that every photo used on the website is one of our own or one of our friends or families, not one stock photo has been used. So the website is as pretty much as handmade as you can get in a virtual/cyber canvas! In particular the stunning photos of coots and ducks have been taken by my brother who lives down under. We hope you enjoy our new website. Namaste, Jo x http://www.yoganaturesheffield.org.uk
