  1. That's the problem, yes I was born in this country the UK but I've come to a point were I don't want to label myself to a country. I have no national pride, if I could I'd prefer to be free to roam the world rather than be attached to a region or a country. When people say to me, or I hear people say "I'm British and I'm proud of it!" I just think "What's their problem." Also what exactly is "British"? I'd prefer to get rid of 'National Pride' it only causes hate, aggression and trouble and for what? So people can wrap themselves up in a flag and say I am "......." and i'm proud. Back to the subject. What has 'ethniticity' to do with getting a job - nothing. I'm of the belief that it's not about were we are from but rather were we are going.
  2. Do I have to choose one by law? In all honesty I prefer not to label or prescribe to any ethnicity, I'd rather be judged for what people think I am and my abillities. Also I'm of the belief that if I look back far enough then my true 'ethnicity' is Space Gasses from the dawn of time but that option isn't there .
  3. I recon £1.50 per litre by end of year could be cheap. Apparently the prices could go up now daily for the next 6 weeks because of the 2 day strike in Scotland. Another worry is that once again Gordon Brown called for OPEC, particularly Saudi to up there supply of Oil and once again it has come to nothing. This could mean that they're at their limit. If this is the case then the price of OIL will keep rising quickly as demand from China and India as well as us and the US will keep rising, at first squeezing out the 3rd world countries then eventually bursting the balloon and dropping very quickly due to World wide depression and thus massive fall of supply. It will then be interesting to see how the World will cope, will there be mass famine? Will there be more wars (oh no I not anymore)? Or will human ingenuity overcome???
  4. Nope, it's time to start coming down heavy on people who behave violently. I grew up watching violent films including video nasties, I drank on the streets, I played what were regarded at the time as violent computer games (Barbarian - were you could chop someones head off) and I participated in contact sports throughout my adolesense. I have never done harm to anyone and I would never intend to do so. Today I hear so many parents telling their kids to "hit back" etc. And don't get me on about what parents encourage their kids to do on the football pitch. It's wrong to keep blaming games, films, books etc. Upbringing is the cause and generally from poverty driven areas. What is needed is new social issues. I don't think things will get better now, infact I believe with the price of fuel, recession, modern day ghettos, non - discipline in schools etc. "things can only get worse!":help:
  5. By pollunating the Worlds crops, without which most of us if not all would die of starvation within a few years. This was Einstein's theory and I'm not arguing with someone of his knowledge.
  6. The UK has a much stronger economy than Thailand though and so to sustain or progress what we have, they would have to put the lost tax onto somthing else if they dropped it on petrol/diesel.
  7. Is this just guess work? Or do you have some evidence/info to prove your prediction? I'm mightily interested. If it goes so high then there's going to be alot of people being laid off.
  8. Sorry, it was hearsay. I was told about this rumor around the time of the failed fuel protests of last year. I don't have no evidence to back it up and I'm not going to bother searching for any either.
  9. Saw this story trivialised into a fun story on Braekfast Television today http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/3667478.stm but in all honesty this is more serious than any "Terrorist" issues we have. Without Bee's I'm under the impressiion that the eco-system could/would collapse within a few years. Certainly alot faster than it would by Global Warming.
  10. No, they are just threatening to take away their licences if they do it again. Won't make much difference, even if they dropped some Tax on Petrol and Diesel then it would still be expensive as Oil is over $100 per barrel now and back in 2000 it was under $25 per barrel. Even at this record price demand for Oil hasn't decreased but supply can't be upped for some reason. The theory says that the more expensive Oil gets the less the demand should be, well that theory isn't working. Expect even higher prices at the pump by the end of this year, maybe as high as £1.50 per litre.
  11. Supply, Demand and how much is actually left in the ground I think we can only expect fast rising prices.
  12. I've signed and will add to sites I visit
  13. Yeah, I've had these sort of people at my door. I don't give money to charities, generally because I don't belive in it. I am willing to give time and effort to help people or projects though as this is what I regard as true charity work. But a while ago this guy came to my house and was asking for money for some Childrens charity. I was doing somthing at the time so I was thinking say what you gotta then go, so it all seemed yadda yadda yadda until the point I began hearing a guilt trip sentence thrown at me. I laughed, and said somthing on the lines of ".hit happens!" to which he looked extremely shocked! I then said OK I'll get you some money. The reply was "oh no sir, we don't take cash. We need you to fill out this direct debit form and give a monthly donation." After I stopped laughing I replied, "sorry my friend I don't do direct debit, you can take my kind generous £1 coin or nothing, as that is all I'm offering." He said "thanks for your time" and left. I still had the £1 coin. It was after this that the realisation struck me that charities are no longer a charity but big buisness. Rather than their ultimate being being to help whomever they are set upto help, they are infact commited to making money. Sad, very sad!
  14. Won't this help make them more efficient by not wasting money and reducing CO2 levels because of a lack of budget for wasteful resources? All important people use excesses and at least he's helped neutralise his carbon footprint by the above, how many other politicians would be this considerate? As an American citizen surely it's only a matter of time before America sees reason to the flaw in thier policy and allow Mr. Schwarzenneger the opportunity which other US Citizen are allowed. As not to can surely be a violation of humanrights according to their constitution?
  15. It won't happen this time but I'd like to see Arnold Shwarzenegger get the position, he's worked hard in life and deserves it.
