  2. Hi StrangeSaz, I run a sports project down at a community organisation called the Burton Street Foundation (just off Langsett road, near Morrisons entrance). We have a large trampoline you could use in our sports hall. How long is it since you've been on one (if you don't mind me asking) and do you have any trampoline qualifications? Give me a call on 0114 2332908 or get back to me on the forum Thanks Jim

  7. Hi, Bit of a long shot, but seeing as though it's going to cost nearly 50 quid on the train, I was wondering if anyone was driving down to Shrewsbury in Shropshire on Friday or Saturday? I will of course contribute to petrol costs (may be more than the train ha ha!) and can assure you I'm not a stalker! Thanks Jim

  12. Wizzzard I would be interested to know how you have come about your opinion - your use of 'Burton St' means that you obviously have had some connection with the project. A disgruntled former employee perhaps? The reason we have had to turn more business like is because we are trying to get rid of the massive debts incurred by the previous management - whom have now left. The new people in charge have put strict measures in place to avoid the project ending up in the same situation. We are still continuing to do very groundbreaking and grass roots work however and I don't think our ethos has changed - just become a bit more realistic. p.s. I'd like to add to fox20thc's comment and say that the 393 club would also be a good choice
  13. Hi, I work at the Burton Street Project which is a community anchor organisation. We work with (amongst others) adults and young people with learning and physical disabilities, unemployed people and young offenders. We are based in an old victorian school (where some of the Full Monty was filmed) which needs a lot of renovation. We generate our own income and do a lot of the work in-house but would welcome your team helping us to refurbish the site in any way you can. We have had other organisations paint halls, sand floors etc. in the past and they enjoyed the experience. Anyway, if you would like to know more then pm me or call 0114 2332908 and ask for Jim. p.s. you can find out more on our website http://www.burtonstreet.org.uk (it's a little out of date but it shows you the variety of work we do). Thanks!
  14. Circuit training involves doing lots of different activities - including press ups, shuttle runs, tricep dips, crunches etc. There are about 10 stations set up in a sports halland you do one of these exercises at each station. Essentially, you do as many of these exercises as you can in a short time - say a minute or two - and then move onto the next station. It's good fun and varied - gets you fit quick! You also get to work at your own pace which means it suits beginners and people who exercise more regularly. Hope this helps
  15. Fit4All gym at the Burton Street Project in Hillsborough is a really friendly fitness suite and membership is £18 per month or £3 pay as you go - that's with a free induction and a free programme. The majority of our members are women and first time gym users who come here because they do not feel intimidated but feel comfortable working out - the equipment is all up to date aswell. Hope this helps.
