  1. Your welcome to come and visit our farm, were a working dairy farm (not a show farm or petting zoo) so its free to visit just don't expect lions and tigers :-) We have 85 cows and newborn calves, the cows come in to be milked at about 4pm, children usally enjoy that ! http://www.ourcowmolly.co.uk S6 6GW hill top Rd Bus 61 or 62 run to the farm every hour. WERE OPEN EVERY DAY WHEN THE CHILDREN ARE ON HOLIDAY.
  2. We also have tea and fresh ground coffee, I will see if I can get some flapjack made too Lets hope the weather stays fine !
  3. I beleve Margerate Tatcher invented Mr Whippy, or at least the idea of whipping as much air in ice cream as possible to increase the profit on it. Our ice cream is approx 10% air 90% ice cream (made from up to 80% milk & cream. where as whippy can be up to 70% air / 30% ice cream (I dont suspect there's any fresh milk or cream in that :-) ) Im glad our competition isn't any stiffer than Mr Whippy :-)
  4. Were overwhelmed with the amount of folks that have come and supported our Open Farm Sunday event, still 3 and a half hours left of it ! Don't wimp out because of a bit of rain come and see what we do as farmers day to day. Even go on a real tractor if you fancy !
  5. Don't forget farmers work outside in all weathers, Open Farm Sunday is all about seeing what goes on at a working farm, if that means getting rained on in a field of cows then you got a pretty good experience of farming :-) There is shelter in the newborn calf enclosure, milking parlour, ice cream parlour and the porch. Or you could have a go on the tractor to keep dry !
  6. Come tomorrow (Sunday) for our Open Farm Sunday event. There will be lots of lemon & ginger ice cream about :-)
  7. We have planned a special Open Farm Sunday walk for tomorrow, pick up a map from the farm. May a surgest food from the BBQ then the walk and an ice cream for afters ? We are also letting folks drive our tractor for tomorrow's event, if you've ever fancied a go on one.

  14. Farmers all over the country have been encoraged to swing open their gates and explane to the public about the food their producing. Willow Hall Farm Heeley City Farm and Our Cow Molly farm are all taking part this Sunday. The information about the Our Cow Molly Farm event is here: http://www.ourcowmolly.co.uk/new-homepage/open-farm-sunday/ FREE ENTRY & lots of FREE parking in our field. All the farm tours are FREE. the only thing you could spend is on the food or tractor & off road train rides. EVERYONE WELCOME.
  15. We have spent 60 years building a reputation for producing quality milk and cream, it's because the milk and creams good that the ice cream is. If we were to use milk from other farms 1) we would be prosecuted by trading standards because it clearly says on the packaging its exclusively our milk & cream 2) the ice cream wouldn't taste as good. We have 85 cows and currently 2 of those cows produce more than enough milk to make our ice cream so there's plenty of scope to make more if we wanted to. Your right on the "Local" point though Sheffield city council don't have a definition for what it is, I personally have been pushing then to define it but keep being told the Trades Discriptions officers will only act if enough people complain, so please tell them you would like a definition to stop everyone claiming their stuffs Local ! We put "Made in Sheffield" on our tubs so it's nice and clear. I will ask Bradwells if they outsorce their ice cream to Scotland and Ireland, I was under the impression they made 6000 liters a day in their factory in the hope valley.
  16. Don't panic Shanes Teeth, there's still some in the freezer and were not open till 11am
  17. I'm sure we will be fine, Wild Cherry Cheese Cake is still the biggest seller at the moment.
  18. I'm pleased to announce Bakewell Tart ice cream is now available in 1 Litre tubs ! We have made 16 and are open Fri Sat & Sunday 11am - 6pm The power of Sheffield Forum eh !
  19. You right I dident run ! Someone had to stay at the farm and scoop :-) I am impressed by anyone who even attempts the 1/2 marathon, you should all be proud of yourselves !
  20. Good luck to Team Our Cow Molly running the Sheffield Half Marathon today. Wishing everyone an enjoyable time ! (except the pain barrier) obviously
  21. We don't supply the supermarkets, we were asked to but we believe in quality not quality. Mass produced is not our thing. Besides you wouldn't get to see the cows there !
  22. Yes were on Twitter, we Tweet photos of when the calves are born and what were up to. Follow us: @OurCowMolly
  23. We have insulated boxes we can scoop into, so you can have any of the Deluxe range in the scooping cabinet to take home including sorbets. We don't have it in branded tubs because there's 16 flavours in the deluxe range and we don't have room to display another 16. Having said that I'm sure we could make some litres of Bakewell Tart as there's clearly demand for it. Just bear with us though were already starting at 4am to keep up the stock, so it will be done next week :-)
