  1. Good idea about the tag! I'll try that. And the letter if need be. Great advice thanks. I do find it interesting when we were away and she took him in as a stray she never thought to take him to vet and check him out, had she done this she'd have found him chipped but no within 5 days she took him in claimed him and named him.
  2. Thanks Steve...there's little if anything in your post I don't agree with. I understand cats have no loyalty. Our cat is also chipped interestingly I've been told it does not prove legal ownership so I'm curious about the legal side of ownership of cats. On the whole I wouldn't have the issue, though she's not "forced" to let him in. However she is continuing to feed him food that makes him ill and knowingly so and I can't stop it. Why would someone do that?? She loves his company, I can't blame her he's adorable, however should be get ill and need treatment due to being fed by her I will be responsible for the bill and I can bet my life she won't want to cover payment despite the food being the cause (should it get to that stage, it already causes him very runny poo, it's why the vet recommended what we give him) you say you provide food to the people who feed your cat. I don't see why I should do this (though that's no criticism on you), because if she simply stopped feeding him the problem over health wouldn't be there.
  3. Thanks for your reply :-) . No she's not the person who feeds him that's our friend. When I say neighbour I mean someone who lives across the road. When were away same as you, our cats are brought in at "tea time" and do not go out. We have litter trays in the house. I agree with you don't think she means him harm but I do think she knows exactly what she's doing. By continuing to put the food out and opening the door and inviting him in when he goes sit by it, is rather spiteful in my opinion considering we love and want him and do t just leave him out all day everyday and don't care. This isn't an older lady who means well so to speak. In some way it is causing him harm by his constant diarrhea. She knows the meat gives this to him but is refusing to stop putting it out. He could potentially end up at the vets for various reasons including the diarrhea and I think it's unfair I would have to fund this when she's causing this. We've explained this to her but she states the meat is t for him. But he's a cat he doesn't understand. Lol
  4. I'm pretty sure nobody can help, my post is perhaps more a rant but I don't know what to do. Firstly I will say I'm aware that cats often adopt new owners but this cat is very much loved wanted and is a family pet. My children adore him and there's no question of letting him go as I'm not convinced if he's adopted them more he's being enticed. We went away on holiday, whilst away, we were not aware at the time, but our cat disappeared for 5 days but returned before we came home. He's been our pet for 4 years never been one for staying out but occasionally stops out the odd night. 5 days is a worry. Once we returned he often"stayed out" and pure luck we noticed it was because our neighbour thought he was a stray took him in an renamed him. :o:o like she'd never noticed him in 4 years !! And he clearly does not look like a stray. We went over to her house and informed her, no he's not a stray he's very loved and wanted at home. Please stop allowing him to come in your house. Over the weeks he continued to stay away from home, the neighbour leaves meat outside her door he eats this. We do not feed him meat as it gives him severe runs. We notice several cats around the food each day as well as ours, there's often fights these cats are likely much loved pets like ours. As he kept staying out with a strong suspicion she was continuing to take him into her home when we next saw him we kept him Inside to try and break the cycle. Unfortunately he got out after a week we saw him lurking at the neighbours. My partner went round and low and behold he was in her living room. We explained we had kept him inside a week to try and stop this. Her responses was "oh I was so worried I thought he'd been run over" we told her we already asked her not to take him in as he is our pet. And that the meat she was feeding him was giving him the runs and it must stop as he was a family pet and it was upsetting our children. And we were concerned he would need to see the vet due to the food he was getting from her. Her response was the meat outside was not for him it was for the "wild cats" and she would not stop putting it out. Additionally She could not stop him coming into her house as "he comes in with my cat and I'm not keeping my cat out". So I'm stuck. My cat is currently inside my home happy enough but he's not an "inside cat" and why shouldn't he. However if I let him out he will go across the road and eat the food left out (giving him the c***s) and she will definitely allow him into her home. I'm very angry and I have no clue what to do. I truly love advise if anyone has any.
  5. I live near OP and have same problem, I know exactly where the dogs that disturb me live and have had to put with it forwell over a year. Despite attempts to deal with it directly with the owners. I now call 101 every time they disturb me (if its late and persistent) so there is an official log and am keeping a log for the Environmental Protection Services.
  6. Thank you, some people say near the flats can be a bit "rough", I don't want to move any where that's going to be unsafe or troublesome.
  7. Can anyone tell me what Deer Park Way is like in S6? I've seen a lovely house, seems quite, been to look around at different times and seems ok, however a few people have said its not so great. Has anyone got any helpful views please? Thank you in advance.
  8. It's a common fault for older clio's. I had the same problem myself. I had to have my immobiliser disabled. Not much help to you, I'm sorry but if you google this problem you'll find lots of advice
  9. Hi I'm looking for a childminder from September to pick up from Malin Bridge Primary. I need 5 days a week from school pick up time until 6pm. I'd preferably prefer both term time and holiday but could work around holidays for a minder offering term time only. Thank you
  10. Hi Flutterbyes, Thank you for your reply and tip about childminders. I'll send you a PM SL x
  11. Hi, None of the threads relating to babysitting talks about what I wanted to know so hope you dont mind a new one! Does anyone on here (or you know) use a babysitting service? I've just seen one advertised called Tender Loving Care thats based here in Sheffield. I'm looking for a sitter and need someone reliable. I know there is a thread about babysitters but I'm after someone older than the average and who's experienced with children, as my kids are a little older than baby's and usually still up for a short time when I leave to go out at about 8. I'd love to hear your views. Thank you
  12. I agree with above poster.. I have a 00 clio nothing but problems with it, biggest one being the immobiliser which is a common fault with clio's, my opinion... steer clear!
  13. Not the one I've seen. Good luck with finding owner/new home
  14. Could be.. this one I have been seeing was near Breamore Road, which is quite a distance from the Rodney
  15. I live around that area (it further down from school) and have seen a young torti kitten around the last week or so, noticed it as I thought it seemed to be too small to be out, only it had a yellow reflective collar on. There's a slight chance it could be the same kitten minus its collar. It might be worth widening your search if you want to find owners. I'm happy to PM you my address so you know the specific area I am in and where I've seen the kitten.
