  1. http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/local/flats_arson_attack_endangered_lives_1_3682821 thats what happened!
  2. because the landlord was a friend and didnt ask for a bond, so therefore we cannot afford a bond! why shouldn't we ask for help from the council? we have two children with us so it cant be a one bedroomed flat! you seem to be really negative towards our situation, dont judge us when you dont know us! why are you so against us asking for help from the council? we should all be entitled to help from these services so why so negative?
  3. we have done all of that but because the idiots didnt leave any DNA and had 'alibi's' then there is nothing the police can do! it is private rented accomodation but the fact remains, we do not feel safe where we are - more so now that they know we named them to the police - and so what can my landlord do about that? he may be able to help protect the property but we are still in the same area of these people, hence why we thought that the Council would be willing to help. apparently not! i am aware they have hundreds of people to re-home but i would have thought that this incident, which is not an isolated incident, would have been given a little more thought, rather than saying we felt 'victimised' of course we did, we were held at bloody knifepoint! morons! the council have proof that this actually took place, givent that the officer dealing with this case submitted statements and even a recommendation letter to the council stating that he felt it was unsafe for us to return to the property as more incidents will no doubt arise from this! i have contacted local MP's and the like who have written to the council on our behalf, as has our solicitor, and the next step will be to take this to the star! Thank you Chem1st for your helpful suggestions.
  4. doubt it to be honest, me and my partener were robbed at knife point and named the culprits, this is the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened but the council wouldnt move us as they said we felt 'victimised' and werent at serious risk of harm! we are currently appealing the decision. i have also contacted our local MP and an MP in london in the hope that the Council change their minds
  5. The Council are rubbish, my partner and i were robbed at knifepoint in our home, we went to the council for help and they said our situation wasnt serious enough! maybe if we had been stabbed that would have helped!! we named the culprits who live a mere five minutes away but again they werent charged and the council thinks we felt 'victimised' and so are refusing to move us! idiots! we are currently appealing their decision but i have my doubts! any advice on who to contact etcetera would be much appreciated!

I went to a comedy club last night at the old abbey picture house, i went as a spare as my mate didnt have anyone to go with and as i wasnt doing anything thought i'd join him, didnt really expect it to be that good to be honest but none the less it was brilliant and i loved it. the comedy from these guys was brilliant and i just wondered if anyone from the forum had gone along? Entry was £2.00 with a fully functioning bar there etc!! they are there next month, 25th October and i would highly recommend this as a good night out!! as the entry is only £2.00 what have you got to lose!!
