  1. Hi

Our wedding is sat 11th june 2011. I have been trying to order 3 bridesmaid dresses from BHS but they are out of stock and not due back in stock for another 4 weeks. Once in stock we will need 2 of them taking in. They are currently a size 'age 9' and are a bit big for the 2 9 yr old bridesmaids that we are having, however they do not make a size 'age 8' (aaarrrggghhh!).

    So, 2 options

    1) is there anyone who would be able to make us matching/v.similar style dresses in time? ( would be the above mentioned 2 and another for my 10yr old daughter)

    or

    2) is there anyone who will be avaiable to make the alterations we need in time once the dresses are back i stock?

The dresses we are want are from BHS and called

'Margaux fuschia taffeta teen bridesmaid dress'

    thanks in advance

    Emma x

  2. Hiya, I'd be interested in seeing a price list and any photos of your bridal makeup work.

Would you travel to derbyshire? postcode SK17 8TA

Also, do you do hair or know anyone else who does?

Our wedding is on sat 11th june 2011

    Thanks Emma x

  3. You'll love Slimming World and it really is easy to stick to because you're never hungry.

You'll get loads of support in group from people who know exactly how you're feeling and whats more, it's a good laugh too!

Make a little bit of time for yourself and come along. You can sit in for free and see what it's all about before you join too.

    Good Luck xxx

  4. I am a full time student nurse, my timetable of uni and placements sounds almost identical to yours and yes, my childminder is very flexible. I pay for a minimum amount of hours and let her know what I need each week, on a week to week basis.

It works really well and I think a lot of childminders offer the same service. I'm if S6, if you are local I cam pm you her details.

  5. The OP has said this is more of a social wedding weekend with lots of kids.

    Ever thought of dodgems?

    Hahaha sounds fab!

    Some great ideas thanks guys!

For many of our guests this long weekend will be their holiday for the year and as 80% of them are family.....what's wrong with us all wanting to have a bit of fun?

We really want to have our own, special to us, sort of wedding rather than a package deal, at a hotel or whatever, where the only thing that'd be different from the wedding the weekend before would be the guests (if that makes sense?).

  6. lol Oh dear. Always someone willing to make a negative comment.

To clarify (although feel I shouldnt have to), I am not looking for a babysitter, no do I doubt anyones ability to hold a fork and by no means do I think any children would "ruin my day".

I have 3 children myself all of whom will be very much a part of our day. In addition to our own there will be another 27 children there. Our day, is actually a weekend. We arrive (with all of our 67 guests and their children) on the friday afternoon. We have a fish and chip van coming for supper and will be playing some games and having fun getting the room ready for the ceremony the next day.

On the saturday (11th june) we get married at 12 o'clock, will be having photos etc afterwards, while the kids can be playing with the giant lawn games and/or bouncy castle we'll have set up in the grounds.

We would love to have an organised, fun activity for all of the kids to look forward to, to take part in and to remember, as being a really fun part of the weekend.

We are having a hog roast outside (weather permitting) and for a few hours, while the adults are socialising and getting to know each other as well as eating, it would be comforting to know that the children are not either sat around bored listening to speeches or off getting into mischief.

The kids also, obviously, need to eat and a perfect time for this would be as a sort of interval or inbetween whatever activities we end up arranging.

At about 5pm there will be a bit of a lull in the days events and will be an opportunity for people to go back to their apartments to get changed, let babies nap, or have a nap themselves lol etc before the evening reception starts at 7pm (along with the chocolate fountain we've arranged for the kids....honest, just the kids hehehe).

We then stay there saturday night and also sunday night (along with all of our guests) before going home on the monday.

Anyway, got a bit carried away telling you all about our amazing weekend.

In short, we are planning a very special weekend to celebrate not just our marriage, but the coming together of two families, filled with very loved children.

I know while I've been looking for people soooo excited it's unreal.

As an experienced mother of 3, I feel very safe and confident about my understanding of children of this age, as well as that of their parents and perhaps in 10 years time you will understand what I mean.

    Any suggestions, still greatfully received.

    Thanks Emma x

  7. Hiya, We're getting married on 11th June at Hargate Hall in Derbyshire.

The venue can arrange a mobile creche for 3 hours for kids under 8 yrs, which is fab, but a lot of the kids coming are more like 9/10/11 boys and girls.

Does anyone know of any mobile services or trainee sports/fitness type people who would be able to come and run a 3 hour activity session (ie football, rounders etc) something to wear them out for a bit, supervise them eating and generally keeping them out of trouble between 2pm and 5pm on

    11th June 2011?

    Any suggestions welcomed, Thanks

  10. Can anyone recommend a mobile hairdresser and makeup artist who would be available on sat 11th June, who could come to Hargate Hall in Derbyshire.

It would be to do my hair and makeup and my chief bridesmade, ready for the ceremony at 12 noon.

Also any ideas on average prices?

    Thanks Emma x

  11. Every diet works if you stick to it.

But that really isnt the question you should be asking.

You need to ask yourself which plan can you stick to whilst not feel deprived. Which plan wont leave you feeling hungry all day. Which plan can you afford and which will fit in around your family etc.

Getting your excess weight off is only one part of the problem. You also need to change your eating habits for the rest of your life if you want to be able to maintain a healthy weight.

You really can get all this and so much more from Slimming World, anyone who's interested in finding out more can either contact me or go along to your nearest group (details on the website), for a free, no obligation to join, 'new members talk' to tell you everything you need to know.

  12. Yes Ting-Tong. It's just like a prescription I suppose and would be an alternative to other obesity medication that can be prescribed, just without all the vile side effects and so much more fun!!! lol.

It is a growing scheme, if you speak to your GP and they do not currently offer the scheme, but would be interested in finding out more about it and the NHS trial, along with costings vs savings vs effectiveness etc, then there are GP packs that I could forward on so let me know.

It's such an amazing scheme and a massive leap forward in the NHS's approach to tackling overweight and obesity. Unlike a prescription for some tablets, it means that the crucial emotional side of weight loss can be addressed too.

Hope that all makes sense lol

  13. Hiya

My best advice would be to go along to your nearest group and listen to the new members talk. It wont cost you anything at all and there is no obligation or pressure to join.

By doing this you will get a really detailed idea of how the plan works (in terms of food) and how it would fit into your lifestyle.

It isnt a set menu and therefore isnt anywhere near as restrictive as some other diets that are around. Because it is so flexible it means that it will suit absolutely anyone, whether you like to cook from scratch or not.

We also offer a 4 week money back garuntee if you dont lose any weight. So you really dont have anything to lose, except weight!

Feel free to contact me if you'd like to know anymore

  14. Told all my lovely members in Crosspool about "Let's Beat It" and the 12 week Slimathon for Bluebell Wood last night.

I was nearly hyperventilating I was so excited! lol

I'm getting married on 11th June and so 12 weeks of sponsored slimming is just what I need and lets face it, it'll be summer before we know it!

If anyone is interested in finding out more about the Slimathon for Bluebell Wood then please let me know.

  15. I'm Soooooo excited!

w/c 28th February marks the launch of "Let's Beat It Together 2011"

Slimming Worlds 12 week Community Weight Loss Challenge, to not only

lose lbs, but to raise £££'s for local charities and other good causes.

Last years huge success saw the UK lose an astonishing 193,300 stone!

We want this year to be the most successful ever.

North Sheffield groups have decided that we can make a bigger difference to a single charity if we all work together and have decided that we would be honoured to raise much needed funds for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.

Visit their website to find out more about the amazing work that they do

    http://www.bluebellwood.org/

So this is where you can all help, as part of the 12 week challenge we are doing a Sponsored Slimathon in every group across the UK, so please sponsor anyone you know that's taking part and come along to a launch party at you local group W/C 28th Feb to hear some inspirational stories, try some delicious food and find out just how amazing our groups and members really are.

If you want to take part there are loads of offers on throughout the 12 weeks, including free membership when you buy a 12 week countdown and if you bring a friend you get a week free too!

    My groups launch nights are;

Crosspool - Wednesday 2nd March with a brand new 5pm session as well as the usual 7pm group

    and

    Nethergreen - Thursday 3rd March at 7pm

I can't wait, See you there!

    Emma x

  16. Hi Lara

Please dont be terrified, I know how scary it can be to walk through those doors, but rest assured you'll be met by your consultant, who has also walked through those doors as a brand new member and so knows exactly what it feels like.

You'll find people of all shapes and sizes too.

you get to hear the new members talk at the beginning, then get invited to stay to group and finally if you like what you've seen, you get enroled at the end.

During your enrolement your consultant will add your name and contact details to her computer, give you your new member pack with all the info you need inside and then weigh you (in private) and give you the opportunity to set a target weight or a interim target etc.

You wont regret it, I know I'm biased as I now work for Slimming World as a consultant, but that is why. I absolutely love everything about it and joining as a member was definately the best thing I ever did.

Let me know how you get on and feel free to inbox me any questions xxx

  17. Hi Ladies

If any of you are in or near S10 (Crosspool) or S11 (Nethergreen), then I'd love to invite you along to my next group so you can find out all that we have to offer.

With absolutely no obligation to join and at no cost at all, you can come along to group and hear everything about the plan (diet) in a new members talk, you can stay to group to see what happens each week and then at the end you have the option to join if you want to.

Even if you've already decided to join Weight Watchers then you have absolutely nothing to lose, but I just know that you will be amazed at the flexibility and freedom that we can offer you. You really can lose weight and never feel hungry. And because we are so sure we offer a 4 week money back guarantee!

I was a weight Watchers member for years and used to reccommend then to every one, but I's never trie Slimming World at that point. I wish I'd known then, what I know now and I would have saved myself years of counting flaming points and having to weigh and measure everything, Weight Watchers new plan is now very similar to Slimming Worlds - Food Optimising (developed 41 years ago), but still so restrictive!

We definately have no hidden costs at all and you receive everything you need to get to your goal weight on night one when you enrol.

Slimming World also (in some areas) are working in conjunction with G.P's to offer a Slimming World on Referral service, which basically means that those G.P's involved in the scheme are able to prescribe patients with a 12 week course of Slimming World!!! How amazing is that? So much cheaper for the NHS than obesity drugs and sooooo much better for the patient as they get the emotional support that can be so vital in their weight loss journey, without all the nasty side effects.

As I've said, there is no obligation to join at all, but it might just be what you've been looking for.

    Em xx
