  1. I went down to Tesco's yesterday with our Xmas rubbish. I have never seen such an eyesore. Why do people think they can just dump rubbish when the containers are full. This is fly-tipping at its worse. These are probably the same people who moan about Roma's dumping rubbish on the street. It's your rubbish if the bins are full take it home.
  2. Except on London tube escalators where you have to stand on the right to allow people in a hurry to pass you. I also get annoyed at the station when having to avoid people coming up the wrong way, can't they damn read or are rules for us not them. Brrrr humbug
  3. I got mine from Abbeydale Road. It takes all the guess work out of cooking the perfect turkey/joint
  4. Agree with everything you say. When parliament asked the public for ways on cutting back on welfare child benefit was my suggestion
  5. Me too, but the responsibility of the parents.
  6. This is when it will get sticky, but I always thought this was a better way of controlling the spiralling benefits system. The first child is when you buy the costly items and one wage decreases. Having children is a decision a couple should make on whether they can afford a bigger family and not just see it as a right. If we didn't have universal benefits immigration to the UK would drop like a stone
  7. All this poll proves is what the posters on SF think, most who have admitted they don't listen to RS. Seeing RS has thousand more listeners than this poll I'm not disheartened by the results. BRING BACK TOBY, I'm missing your morning banter.
  8. Hope your house moves goes well:). I've got Xmas stress down to a tee that works well for me. The weekend before Xmas I park the car in town very early and do all my present shopping. I keep nipping back to car to off load parcels and have a drink and snack in the car which I have made at home. I don't go home till everything is bought. The next day it's the big food shop. The only thing I do before the big weekend is make a list of present suggestions, and send cards to people I don't see often. Hubby does all the cooking on the chosen weekend. I admit I'm feeling really relaxed about the whole thing. I'm so chilled out and ready to hit the shops next Saturday.
  9. I agree, I said this several post ago, the tone of language used is disturbing. Whether you liked the man or not and everyone is entitled to their opinion, posting cringeworthy comments is juvenile
  10. I'm hoping whoever takes over the breakfast show is likeable because I enjoy a chat programme rather than music on a morning. Having heard the same news several times on radio 4 from 6am I am glad to turn it over to radio sheffield at 7am.
  11. It's not about having an opinion of whether you like someone or not it's wishing ill of someone and posting it that's distasteful. It's like the comments made about Maggie Thatcher when she died. I disliked the woman but would never ever wish evil of them.
  12. I didn't realise they were so many nasty people in South Yorkshire. It seems that most have posted on this thread.
  13. hope not I really enjoy listening to the banter for 30 minutes before I get up
  14. This is my local supermarket that I'm posting about. They do away with manning tills especially for those with just a few items, but have to keep a dedicated person on the self help section to sort out all the problems that occur. That member of staff could have all those customers through the checkout with the time it takes to sort out all the problems. I know it's all about cost and profits but what about customer service it doesn't seem to count anymore
  15. Is anyone else fed up with the time it takes to get through supermarket checkouts. In sainsbury yesterday afternoon I was behind one woman. After waiting ten minutes I switched to another checkout which again took ages to put through goods for one person in front of me. I would happily forgo the coupons and loyalty cards to make things quicker. I sometimes use the self service checkouts but they rarely turn out to be quicker and I end up having to wait for staff to attend and buying booze and a kitchen knife I knew it would not be a smooth transaction. My main shopping is at Aldi which is quick but they don't stock everything I want. Maybe home delivery is the answer for my sanity:help:
  16. Sorry just seen you have already posted this and it is a sign not the bus shelter roof
  17. Just past Akinsons on the bus. The roof of the bus shelter has blown off and someone is laying on the floor. Police and ambulance just arrived. Hope the person is not badly hurt.
  18. I have a new street light outside my house. It's been there 13 months and looks very elegant, unfortunately it's never been switched on. Our street is total darkness at night, not one single street light on, not even the remaining old ones. With the massive pot holes in the road it's a nightmare trying to avoid falling into one when crossing the street at night.
  19. This is true. My daughter-in-law is Japenese and lives in London. She always wears one on the tube and carries an antiseptic throat spray. She doesn't wear it anywhere else though, but I can see why she does on the tube, I'm tempted myself.
  20. Im getting pretty fed up of pensioner bashing on this forum. I'm in my 60s and have no trouble keeping up with the cashier at Aldi. I always have my card ready to pay and bag my food in carriers at the car. I hate the slowness and queues at other supermarkets. It may surprise some on here that you do not lose your faculties when you turn 59.
  21. But not everyone has binged on credit but have to suffer for the foolishness and greed of others:mad:
  22. So have I plus taste. Meadowhall is not my ides of Heaven, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If Sheffield was to be renamed maybe Sevenhills would be an option. ---------- Post added 31-10-2013 at 06:51 ---------- Sorry you beat me to it.
