  3. My elderly cat has likely Lymphoma, weight loss, being sick and now diahorrea. Private vet said only way to diagnose for sure is an invasive biopsy which I'm not subjecting her to, as there's almost certainly no cure anyway. So she's now on steroid injections and Vitamin B12. She is largely fine, still thin, although has put a bit of weight on, but rarely sick, and bowels 'hit and miss'. She's been on steroids since 2nd Jan and started on the B12 5 weeks ago. She's actually got more life and get up and go now than she did 1 to 2 months ago.
  4. There's a river about 400 yrds from me, and there's only fields in between, so could be
  5. Just found another site that says mink do become herbivorous if circumstances demand it, so who knows, but maybe it a very dark rat
  6. Yes! I've just googled it and they are described as carnivores, rarely eating vegetation (I had thought they were omnivores ) so the plot thickens😲
  7. Crickey, Wesley Nicholls ceased trading, I didn't know that. I get my solid fuel from Dixons at Attercliffe, cheaper than Nicholls, but the quality perhaps not as good
  8. Oh actually 2 years ago the place was alive with rabbits, and now there aren't any. i've done a fair bit of googling today and apparently there was already a well-established wild population long before any mink were released by animal right activists
  9. It wasn't at a great distance, no more than 4 or 5 feet, ( but it was a fleeting glimpse) and it was dry yesterday. It was definitely black. I wish ha d a webcam I could set up
  10. But rats aren't black they're grey aren't they?
  11. I've had an animal helping itself to my horses carrots, apples etc in my feed shed for some time. When I closed the wooden door it gnawed it's way through it, leaving a Tom & Jerry esq hole. I'd assumed it was a squirrel, but yesterday I caught a glimpse of it as it shot under the shed on my approach, and it was black, and larger than a squirrel. My thoughts are it could be a mink. Has anyone else come across wild mink in Sheffield?
  12. Even if the sitter had had an awful accident or worse, surely she should have contingencies in place, knowing that animals lives depend on her? Would you mind messaging me with the person's details, do I can avoid them please. I would be very grateful Cheers

  21. Hi I'm after an electrician. Can anyone recommend someone pleae? Cheers Jane
  22. Yapping barking dogs drive me nuts. Thankfully I don['t have any living near me, but I still have many a summer's afternoon/evening ruined by incessant yapping of dogs taken to a nearby playing field. There are several that yap from start to finish, 30 - 40 mins at a time and people for a radius of quarter of a mile plus have to endure the noise. I don't understand why dog owners think it's ok to inflict that racket on so many other people. Selfish beyond belief.
