  1. No she is showing off her wedding ring as she is married to one of the best guys in the world.
  2. It looks like the first lady who is an inspiration to us all. What are you trying to say Rich?
  3. Possibly, but it is nice to plan ahead for humanities future. You may be correct in this however, medical science is advancing all of the time and to deny the possibility of this capability might be being hasty. Hmm, it may only be a subtle change in individuals persona, with the possibility of an individual mix and dosages for each candidate. For instance it could just mean that someone with a quick temper is made to feel much more calm or someone that has trouble reaching rational decisions is helped to do so. The idea was to 'enhance' us as individuals and ensure that we function properly and within moderation at all times. If anything this will help the voting pattern in a democracy and the persons being treated within this experiment should in theory vote for mainstream and sensible political parties. It would be nice to see the experiment run and see what the results are.
  4. Well people may still get drunk, couples will fall out etc but the police would unlikely to be needed in the community pods. If they were it could be as a supervisory role and a combined social awareness role. The main purpose of the experiment would be an attempt to eliminate high levels of violence and murder with increased ethical and morale rationality. I think you will find that unless provoked the police are lovely people and they only shoot dead people when it appears to be absolutely necessary. The way to treat the police is simple, they are incharge , use that style of thinking and you cannot go wrong. As for the armed forces, well they will need to be a tough lot until we achieve global unity, stability and peace. However later on I predict that we will need some form of space combat troops as being unprepared would be very foolish.
  5. A few bent the rules here and there but apart from that it looked like people just maximising their lot in life, natural behaviour. I say give em a pay rise that relfects commercial rates and scrap the allowance system. Plus some well very protected nearby government owned homes that they can use while they are an MP.
  6. Yes and I was basing my theory on the joint possibility on stopping the ageing process of human beings and possibly certain animals along side space colonization. I am fully aware that the planet would quickly overpopulate if we did not age and the only answer is to venture into space itself. Getting back to my original point I was thinking about dangerous people to start with, if we could isolate the problem in their personality and or their natural disposition then maybe we could treat them for their problems. Long term it could be possible to have pacification injections and even rationality treatment. The pacification would likely need to be reversible for people wishing to join the armed forces and the police etc. I would recommend setting up small community pods where the experiment could take place and as long as the injections have no side effects except to make the person calm and rational then it could be part of an advanced population management system. I could be wrong but this system may lead to both increased safety and productivity.
  7. That is NOT what I was trying to say. The improvements would be for everyone regardless of race, sexuality or disability.
  8. Do you feel that it is our duty and indeed a sensible ethical choice to research and develop new medical, chemical and or genetic technology that would tackle some of the social issues that we have in our communities. Through these enhancements it could be possible that we could eliminate the irrational. immoral and criminal impulses that can lead humans into problematic situations. If we could effect the morality, ethics and rationality of human kind, should we? The reason I pose these question is that surely one day we will eradicate ageing and people could potentially live for hundreds if not thousands of years. Could we create a man made garden of eden through the practice of science & technology.
  9. It could be that this new addition is just what she needs to help turn her around. Someone that she can love and care for. You are very quick to judge, she may make a fantastic parent. And it would not concern me if she was butt ugly and brainless, she deserves a chance to be able to turn her life around.
  10. The girl is only 20. I would hope that she will spend some time in a womens jail near to her mum so that hopefully her mum can talk some sense into her. Plus there is a nice little baby on the way and that will need attention. Some of you on here are very harsh, you would be surprised how these drug bosses can take advantage of people. I agree that the drug heroin can be deadly and it is a terrible burden on many societies however, this young lady does not deserve to die or rot in prison forever. Perhaps she can do some college courses inside and then try and move on. I watched an episode on "Banged up Abroad" where a white guy drug smuggler was caught with drugs in south america and now he is back in the UK and works for a local authority. People can and do change, she is still young and with time she may mature and grow out of these ideas.
  11. I do not agree with you at all and I seriously suspect that you have no idea what the job really entails and the amount of pressure that goes with it. Their pay is so low it is 'ridiculous' and the stress and danger is incredible. I just hope that if you should need these people that they are there for you. Finally remember that these people are human beings just like us and as such a little support for them would go a long way. I would not get out of bed to protect most of the selfish and ungrateful people in this country for less money than a tradesperson. Many people could earn the same salary as them working as a salesperson, it's 'mind boggling' how we expect so much for so little. Without them we have nothing, try and remember that.
  12. I meant in general. The fella died which is a shame but it would also be a shame to loose any of our finest. Little retraining and careful instruction and the officer concerned should be fine. When you next go to judge a copper, look in the mirror and be honest with yourself. Could you do the job? Have you lived a perfect life? Have you made mistakes? We get nicked, we maybe do some time then it's back into the game. They loose their job and pension if they make a serious mistake.
  13. I disagree, they are far too restrained with those protestors.
  14. I feel very sorry for the young lady. Life is not as black and white as some of you think. She is very young and may of been duped into the criminal act. Preyed upon by older more organised criminals who probably convinced her that she would not get caught. I say bring her home and let her do her time and then maybe she can go to college. She did not murder anyone, just made a silly mistake.
  15. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article6164635.ece The scale of the threat is more extensive than previously understood, with over 2,800 OCGs now believed to be operating in England and Wales. Apologies, just looking at England and Wales there are some 2,800.
