I got a wireless kit from ebay too. I think it cost about £15 for the camera end and the flash end. It's worked flawlessly for about 2 years now. Haven't used the pocket wizard, but they'd have to be pretty good to justify the extra £££.

Use a flash. Take a long exposure and move the camera around for the ghost-like effect, then have the flash fire at the end of the exposure, which will freeze the bits you want frozen. I think it's called rear curtain sync, or something like that. There'll be instructions in your DSLR's manual or menus.

Be careful with the lower end Nikons. They are good cameras but some of them don't have auto-focus motors. This is over-simplified, but basically there are two types of lens: AF lenses use the motor in the camera to auto-focus. AF-S lenses have their own motor built into the lens. If you're camera doesn't have an auto-focus motor, you'll be limited to the more expensive AF-S lenses. The AF lenses would work, but you would have to focus manually by rotating the barrel. It's not the end of the world, but the cheaper cameras can end up meaning you'll spend more money on lenses (and be limited in choice) in the long-run. So if you plan on adding lenses, they may be a bit of a false economy. I'm not sure which lenses the D3100 supports, but you can check on Nikon's website. Other than that, they're really good cameras. I've been using a D60 (an older version) for a couple of years and love it to bits!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I went to Harrisons and payed #4.75 for a 10x8 print from a kiosk, which I thought was really expensive, but the quality was very good. I also found http://www.kodakgallery.co.uk which are really cheap (#1.29 for a 12x8 print, and you get 50% off your first order), so I've ordered a few from there. Not sure what the quality will be like as they haven't turned up yet.

A 50mm f/1.8 might be useful... can be had for about #120.

Because most people tend to use NIC to refer to an ethernet card. Someone looking for 'internet drivers' isn't likely to know that 'network interface card' means his wifi.

If the laptop is capable of running Vista, it's highly unlikely you'll need drivers for your NIC. Are you using wireless? Perhaps you need drivers for your wifi card. You should be able to plug your laptop into your router with a network cable (a few quid from Maplin, if you don't have one), and connect to the internet. Then you can download your wifi card drivers and unplug it to use it wirelessly.

A quick Mac question... iMac 27-inch Intel Core i5 2.66GHz 4GB RAM ATI Radeon HD 4850, 512MB What spec of PC running Windows 7 would match the performance of this iMac?

I used e-music about a year ago and the catalogue was really small. I don't think they even had half of the stuff I wanted to download. Has it changed? What's wrong with iTunes?
