  1. Does anyone know where I can find the value of a Sheffield United blueprint from 28 February 1973. It is on a sheet around size A0 and is in excellent condition. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  2. I know someone who uses Hermes and has never had any problems. I always use Royal Mail, but have everything signed for (£3.80) as a lot of people on eBay scam you by saying they haven't received their parcel and you have no proof. And surprisingly genuine people on there will pay the price. Also with Hermes you can track your parcel and for £2.78 for upto 2kg its not bad at all.
  3. What is up with employers in Sheffield? My son has applied constantly for every job on the internet he can find to be constantly knocked back, mainly because he is still only 17. He is studying plumbing and gas fitting at college and originally wanted an apprenticeship, but still cannot get one. He is a lovely well-grounded lad who just needs a first step on the ladder of employment. As a single mum with 2 kids I can't always get him what he wants and college only pay him his bus fares. He went to Futures the other day and a lady from Sheffield City Council took his name etc and asked him to send a CV through and she would contact him for an interview. He is STILL waiting to hear from her. It makes me extremely angry that he cant get work, unlike some who just want to sit on their bums all day playing on their Xbox. Would someone out there please please give him a chance to work. And don't tell him to try agencies etc, because they are just as bad with the 17 year old issue. Rant over.............
  4. My daughter has a Giant African Snail and one baby which she would like to rehome. The snails are free, all she would like is the price of the tank she bought which cost her £10. There is a small pot for water and cuttlefish which they need to keep their shells from going brittle. Please contact me and I can send a picture via email. Thanks
  5. What I meant was can anyone else elaborate more
  6. I think this happens in a lot of shops and supermarkets. I work in the sales trade myself and find that I have regular customers who come back, sometimes just for a chat. But that is because I am polite and courteous to them. A please and thank you doesn't cost money. But I find myself going into shops where the staff are so rude that I have actually started saying "Please" "Thank you" to them just to make a point. Do your shopping online, you don't have to face them then.
  7. Does anyone know what has happened outside Castle Market. Went this morning to set up our stall and it has been taped off from top stall to bottom. No-one can get to their shops either. All Police are saying is they have found a body and that it is suspicious circumstances.
  8. I know this is a subject already mentioned, but I wondered if anyone can help. I've lost touch with a friend of mine. We used to talk regularly by email, but then suddenly his emails were coming back saying it didnt exist. I know he is not on facebook. His name is James Anderson an he is from around the Ecclesall Road area. I know he lives in a flat work a mate and has a busy job and is in his 30s. If anyone knows him can you please pass on that Jane from Woodseats would like to get in touch with him again. Thanks everyone for your help
  9. I went to the concert when Gary Numan was here last time and was very disappointed. His new music seems very heavy and he hardly played any of his old tracks . I have every album of his old stuff and was a big fan too
  10. Haven't been on here for a while so have only just got round to reading some of the discussions. As someone who works outside the Castle Market, on the rag and tag market, I can see the views of both sides here. Yes it is a run-down dump and is definitely in need of revitalising. But on the other hand, especially on a Monday, the market is packed, both inside and out, with not just pensioners, but all kinds of different people. There is nowhere better to go and buy your Sunday lunch, veg stalls, fish and meat stalls, everything you could want. Then pop outside and pick up something retro or a couple of cheap vids/dvds to watch while enjoying your Sunday lunch. Taking it down to The Moor is ridiculous. Yes there are buses and car parks, but no tram stop. And for a lot of people Castle Market is a way of life. And anyway, yet again, they have run out of money to build this market so wouldnt it be cheaper to give our present one a lick of paint. Sorry to bring this discussion back up, but I feel strongly about this. SAVE OUR MARKET
