  1. Thanks Skews, I am usually pretty good in interviews but have never done this sort of assessment before. From what I can gather they are looking for how you handle the customer rather than sales skills or product knowledge. I know all the usual tactics to calm angry customers so hope I will be ok. If I pass this stage there is a 5 hour assessment centre so this is a drop in the ocean really!
  2. Hello, I have read the threads related to the interview process for Advisors in the Sky Call Centre but no one has mentioned the Team Manager roles. I have my first assessment tomorrow and was wondering if the recruitment process was the same for Team Managers as that for Advisors. I have been told I will have a presentation (with time to prepare) and then an interview. Can anyone shed any light on what to expect. Help much appreciated. Thanks
  3. Where are you in sheffield? Most tyre places will do it and should be able to fit you in straight away. As ratter says though it could be an underlying problem but they should be able to tell when they get it on the ramp.
  4. I live in sheffield but go here: http://www.pinewoodsg.co.uk/ Very friendly, relaxed atmosphere. They have a nice warm brick built club house with a cafe inside. You can hire guns and buy cartridges and the trappers are a good laugh to. They have lots to go at so you can always got on somewhere. They have a double DTL which is mental! Oh and you get a cup of tea on the house if you shoot a perfect round on compact aparently. I found out after missing number 47 of 50 to give me 49/50 the last time I was there (bloody typical!) lol
  5. Hi, great idea to meet new people. Could I ask where you are located in Sheffield? It's my birthday NYE and I'm having a house party and a piper would be something different to entertain the guests :0) We are all mid-late 20's / early 30's and all friendly so if you fancy popping over to Aston for a few hours you are more than welcome.
  6. Know what you mean Sammy! Ladies, is this a women only thing or are us guys invited? lol I'm in my 20s looking to expand my wilting circle of friends who have moved away or settled down. Anyways, I think we should set up a SF group and get something going. As we are all in our 20s I'm sure we all have a facebook account (if not it's another good way to meet people!) so I have created a group called 'Sheffield Forum social activities'. Join the group and we can all set something up :0) simples!
  7. Ordered from them last night and was very impressed. Customer service was excellent, the food was excellent quality and delivery was very prompt with a friendly delivery guy. We had a spring roll starter, crispy shredded beef with chilli, crispy shredded chicken with chilli, quarter duck with hoi sin sauce and pan cakes, a cicken chow mein, a chicken curry, a beef curry 4 rices and it only came to £44! For 5 of us that's great value. Got 2 bottles of stella, prawn crackers and a small bag of haribo chucked in for free. I personally had the beef curry and crispy beef (split them with the mrs of course!) and they were spot on. I also tried the crispy chicken and that was lovely. All the ingredients were fresh and cooked beautifully. You could really taste the quality It's much better than swallownest chinese, really can't fault it. I must have had beef curry and crispy beef 100 times and last nights was the best. I will definately be going for a sit in meal next week based on the takeaway. Well done Phoenix, you have restored my faith in Chinese take aways and have got a repeat customer for the foreseeable future. Keep up the good work!
  8. There is the one at Drakehouse retail park opposite Sam Jones and KFC (think it's called The Drakehouse). Food is ok, they do a 2 for 1 menu and there is a play area outside (big climbing frame surrounded by the soft wood chippings). It is fenced off with a gate and there are pub tables outside where you can order the food to. If it's a bit cold you can sit inside next to the window and look out onto the play area to watch the kids, depends how old they are.
  9. Do they deliver or is it collection only? I live in the area and order from Swallownest Chinese usually but if these deliver I will be going there :0)
  10. Me and the other half went with another couple early this year and used some vouchers from the Sheffield Unleashed book. Bar man was spot on. He made us a cocktail based on what we liked, talked us through the origins and so on, all interesting stuff. The bar was not busy so he had time for us, but still great first impression. We got our drinks and were seated by the waitress. She was very polite even though she had to come back 3 times for our order as one of us could not decide what to have. Food was excellent, piping hot and well presented. There were only a few other couples in the restaurant but again can't fault the food. Side portions were very ample, I ended up finishing some potatoes as there were too many :0) Overall, great customer service, great atmosphere and a great dining experience. The price was a little steeper than we thought (even with the vouchers) but when you get that level of service and food I don't mind paying a little extra. As already mentioned the bar was also a bit steep but it's not really a place for bargin booze and therefore attracts the right people.
  11. If it's in the eye socket wash it well with warm water. Your eye will clear it over a few hours but washing will help. It will probably weep a lot but this is just your eye cleaning it. It should not cause any permanent damage. If its on the eyelids DO NOT TRY TO FORCE THEM OPEN. Wash it again with warm water and cover your eye, the eye will open on its own after a few days. Personally I would keep it moist and call NHS direct. Hope this helps T
  12. My opinion (having a young daughter myself) is that the decision should be theirs and not yours. My daughter at 3 years old kept going on about having her ears done because someone at nursery had (god that sounds daft!). I explained what it actually meant and what could happen and she dropped the subject. I do not see any difference between tattoos and pierced ears they are both permanent. Would you let your child have a tattoo at this age? I personally will wait until my daughter is mature enough to make the decision, probably around 14 or 15, which incidentally is when I had mine done and I feel the right age.
  13. I have been here twice in the last year. The first time I took my girlfriend for a romantic meal. We were seated at the window overlooking the lake which was nice. We had the 2 courses for £15 and I ordered a nice bottle of red (Rioja I think, just a good mid priced bottle) which was a bit on the expensive side in comparison to say the italians on Eccy road. Both starters had soil/mud in the salad (least I know it's fresh hay!). This was replaced with an apology and we were offered a free desert which I thought was reasonable but would not really help recover the romantic evening! The tartlette was amazing I must say, one of the best I have had for a long time! The mains were very good, I had the duck which was not the best cut and a little tough which I put down to the fact that either it was just a bad bit of duck or it had been rushed to keep us sweet. I did pass this comment on to who I assume is the manager who did not seem to dismiss it. Desert was very good, nothing like a big dose of chocolate to make you feel good :0) and it did take the taste of soil out of my mouth! ;0) The second time I went it was for drinks with 2 friends on a lovely summer night. We sat outside overlooking the lake. The drinks were very expensive, £12 for 2 doubles and mixer! For this reason we had 2 drinks each and left. In summary it's an excellent location and the staff were very friendly which gave a good atmosphere. The drinks are expensive but the food is good value and the decor, lighting and mood in the restaurant is better than most. It's got all the ingredients (excuse the pun) and I'm sure it will get there but I would be reviewing bar prices and offering a cheap alternative on beer and spirits and/or a 'cheap' night in the week. Well thats my input. We still make jokes about the soil and my girlfriend (yes she did see me again!) is thinking about taking her mum there for her birthday with some family. Overall I would say it's worth a try and is a nice alternative to the numerous Italians scattered around sheffield. Thanks T
  14. Been past when I went for breakfast about 9am and the moor was open. Not sure what went off but looked serious as the underground walkway and the whole of the moor was cordened off.
  15. Anyone know what gone off on the Moor last night / this morning? It's sealed off with police tape and there was an officer standing guard at the top of the Moor at 06:30 when I drove past on the way to work. Looks very serious
