  1. Hi Online entries for Stocksbridge Chase are now available - pay easily by Paypal http://sheffieldrunningclub.org.uk/upcoming-races/chase-online-entry/
  2. Entries are coming in thick and fast now for the Stocksbridge Chase - it looks a fab event, there is lots more info on the website including GPS route. http://www.sheffieldrunningclub.org.uk/chase
  3. The full route will be available nearer the time with profile - you can't avoid the hills in sheffield but it will be worth it, a really nice 10km with fantastic scenary.
  4. Hi I am looking for a space / room to run a social media workshop for around 10 people. It needs to be cheap, just the room as I can supply catering. But would have to have facilities to project from a PC. Any ideas? Needs to be in Sheffield - easily accessible and ideally free or cheap parking. Any advice welcome. thanks
  5. Hi does anyone know where I could get a fitness test from ideally getting my vo max? Wondered if there were any sports science students out there wanting any guinea pigs at all? I don't really want to pay £100 for one, ideally in the Sheffield area of course. thanks
  6. Done the same for Percy Pud 2010: Feel free to take if you see yourself there: all taken around the 50minutes to 1 hr mark at the end as I got my SLR out after I had finished.
  7. Hi I have seen a few threads on massage courses, and interested to see whether anyone has done any of them. I am looking for part time evening or weekend ones. I was looking at the one at stillpoint - Sheffield Centre for Massage Training however compared to the course at Sheffield College it isn't cheap and someone who I know in the West Midlands has suggested that it's not properly accrediated. So has anyone done any of these courses? Or can anyone shed any light on what I should be looking out for with a course being acredited? Anyone done any other similar courses that have been beneficial and useful? Prefably in Sheffield but will consider Rotherham / Chesterfield etc. so any comments etc most welcome. My aims is more the sports side of things long term but I am too old to want to do a Personal Trainer type qualification and can't afford a full time degree in sports stuff, so this seemed a really good compromise. Looking forward to some constructive replies! Thanks Helen
  8. Entry has now been swapped, thanks for the tip of swapping entries, glad that facility is now available.
  9. Hi there I have been injured (all year) but just got a stress fracture 4 weeks before a half marathon and a little way through my marathon training so rather gutted. So I would really like to see if anyone would buy the following off me, I know really we shouldnt pass on race entries but its not as if I am going to win a category so as long as you are not likely to win a category I will put my times by the side of the events so you know what it would come under, i dont want to make too much money on these but if i dont sell them i will loose £75. Derby 10k -11th April 2010 - Derby (PB time 44.58 but would prob be around 46 mins) Sheffield half maraton - 25th April - Sheffield ( GNR PB 1.47) Edinburgh Marathon - 23rd May - Edinburgh (first marathon estimated time 4 hrs) Get in touch if interested shame to see them go in the bin (category is 35 + female)
  10. looking at burton street, also if anyone is a graduate of Hallam Uni in the past 5 years check this out; http://www.shu.ac.uk/startup/hatchery/index.html No use for me as I didnt graduate from Hallam Uni and am too old for this, but maybe for someone?
  11. Do people have their own laptops etc? What i would envisage is a space that would be desked up and wified up that a collection of people could use. Ideally like "hotdesking" but would take some working out. I am looking into various options at the moment and getting a few contacts to see what is out there. Seems there are some of us who could benefit from this, although we will have to put our hands in our pockets a bit. I do believe there is something out there that can be done to solve working from home issues / isolation / productivity. I just want to be around people.
  12. Thanks, I will check out the workstation / Burton St Project, I like the idea of office sharing, that could work really well with other freelancers, if anyone else would be interested in that, I wonder if there is potential here? Also like the idea of a networking group, wonder if its worth setting up a Ning site for this sort of thing?
  13. Thanks for the replies so far, I am looking for something that doesn't give me isolation, where I can mix with others as that's what I don't have at home. I'll investigate into these, if anyone knows of any others do let me know. Working from home isn't all what its made out to be.
  14. I work from home due to the location of my job (in Lincolnshire), but its driving me mad after nearly a year. In Leeds there is a set up called "co-working" (through Leeds Met. Uni) where freelancers can rent out a desk and be around people at the same time. Does anyone know if there is a similar thing in Sheffield or anywhere that rents out "desk space" for this sort of thing. As I am on my own I am not looking for an "office" space (multiple desks) just somewhere where i can be amongst people but get on with my own work at the same time. There must be something out there or other web freelancers who hate the isolation of working from home?
  15. Just waiting for confirmation of collection I will post to say been collected, or will offer it out to the next person. Good luck to everyone doing it, I am going to be sulking that day!
