  1. your own post almost sounds like a moan Unisol... moaning is great fun. nothing better than having a good old whinge about something trivial or irrelevent.
  2. I have to agree with Tony. Its a public square. Someone has laid some paving slabs. Its pushing it a little to have an opening ceremony for what amounts to patio.
  3. google is your friend. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usenext but i'd avoid it cos its "spyware"
  4. looking out the office window, they seem to have done a great job of boarding up the bits they've not yet finished... like sweeping the dust under the carpet. they are currently just cleaning up stuff at the front of the station, so that looks finished. i cant quite see in front of the showroom but it certainly looked incomplete yesterday morning. its a little sad though that we are getting excited about a new public square. of all things.
  5. i guess you are logging in to a secure site but your browser is then redirecting you to a non-secure site. i could explain technically why it is giving you the alert, but yeah... you are safe to proceed
  6. i wouldnt worry about it pattricia, as long as you are sure you are on the correct site (check the address at the top of the browser). when you go from a secure https site to a non-secure http site, you will get the warning.
  7. just after you rebuild a PC - thats the time when its most vulnerable to spyware and viruses, until you've installed patches, service packs, virus scanners, spyware scanners, etc. You do have all them installed, dont you? The hard drive may be screwed, yeah. Or the controller. Doesn't explain why it would work after 30 mins.
  8. SEO isnt important for a startup. Referrals, experience and a decent portfolio is vital.
  9. the usual reply when you get apparent randomness like this is try checking for spyware and viruses. not entirely sure that the laptop is mashed. just mildly tipsy.
  10. it'll have to be down by 22% in order to be at the same levels as march this year. i kinda get a feeling it'll not be anywhere near this...
  11. my thoughts on this is that its nothing but a publicity stunt. wholesale prices go up and gas prices go up almost immediately. wholesale prices go down and prices drop in some vague time during spring. they've not even said how much it will be. they've even admitted that its "to stop churn" (BBC News article).
  12. Yeah I agree, lets hope it can be saved. I'll miss listening to Day Trip To Bangor during my lunchtime pint. But dont fall into the same trap as most people who've signed the petition -- its NOT been announced that its going to be converted into flats or offices. The "IT SHOULD NEVER BECOME A BLOCK OF LUXURY APARTMENTS" comment is misleading. Its a statement of what shouldn't happen, not what is happening.
  13. dont forget to head out to the peaks either down loxley road or rivelin valley. so many people live in hillsborough and forget about what is on their doorstep. some good cycle routes if you're into cycling, or more walking than you can ever do in a lifetime. the number 61 stagecoach bus goes down loxley road into bradfield. i'm sure someone else can give you the number of other buses.
  14. better style simply because it reads better? ("string array args" rather than string args array")
  15. wooo i'm glad. so the classpath was the problem. i think -classpath is the better way rather than using set CLASSPATH as it means that you can put your code anywhere and not have to worry about adding the path to the CLASSPATH. dont give up -- you're going to come across lots of things like this but there's a lot of people out there who are willing to help. its a good feeling when you get something working after battling with it for a while. it almost makes it all worthwhile almost...
  16. hmmm... try a single '-' rather than '--'
  17. the classpath should be set to where 3rd party classes are installed, not to where java is installed. the classpath perhaps isnt the problem but its kinda hinting at it, if you ask me. did you try: cd to\where\i\put\my\code javac HelloWorld.java java --classpath . HelloWorld because if that doesn't work then its not a classpath problem.
  18. looks like a lot of retailers arent gonna be able to fulfill the orders tomorrow.... http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/12/07/nintendo_cuts_uk_wii_allocation_claim/
  19. do you have spaces anywhere in the path? try moving your source code to c:\ and set your classpath to c:\ and run it from there. alternatively, does it work if you do the first?
  20. ...and i'm now beginning to wonder if String[] args is the same as String args[]...
