BUying a house: Homebuyer report: Need Advice
Hepstall replied to a topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
I would suggest, as a surveyor myself, you need to put away £10-15k safely to get this one right. Has the surveyor recommended a retainer for the mortage company? -
Hi all, we need a plumber in S9 (Handsworth) to connect a new flexi-hose tap connector in a bathroom to the hand wash basin. Also, to tighten the taps on the bath (will require a rubber ring under the tap to ensure it grips properly) Please can you email me with your estimates. Experienced and qualified plumbers only please. Thanks,

To pay or not to pay? That is the question
Hepstall replied to rusmum's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
If everyone just refuses to pay fines for this parking I dont think the parking companies will go away...they will just change tactics - could they just start clamping on site and not release until paid? -
In Memory of my daughter Anisah Mahmood

Really sorry to hear of her passing. Please accept and pass on my condolensces. -
the problem isnt the oil companies. they do all the hard work - what i dont understand is why the exchequer feels the need to tax it to death? they always use the cost of the barrell going to xUS$, not all of that barrell is used for petrol, there are other very highly profitable products from it and some less profitable.

Sheffield Council to decide the fate of your ANPR data

Do you drive on the roads of Sheffield? -
the alignment machine is quite something, and a MUST for BMW owners, where BMW main dealers charge £400+ AD are between £150-200 for full 4 wheel alignment.

Bodywork repairs in Sheffield - Audi A3
Hepstall replied to Daryl24's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I used them and had to take my car back three times to rectify the poor paint job. The bumper hadn't been prepped properly before it was sprayed and you could see it in the surface of the new paint. I was in a similar situation and just lucky that the fleet company didn't look too close. Not to mention it cost £170 for the bumper to be resprayed, and badly at that. -
you can replace the digitizer on the front of the iphone. Have a look on you tube and you will see hows its done... Might be around 45 in a phone shop etc...

Anybody prepared to firefight and save lives and risk their own deserves a half decent retirement package. Its not just the job, but mentally demanding also if your clearing up in a property where somebody was killed by fire.

I would say get one well under 5 years old (ie: around 2-3 yrs old) as some companies wont allow you to use a personal car when it gets to 4-5 yrs old on business.
-
I would take it to Audi myself. I got loads of prices from garages and non matched Audis which was lower. I also had the waterpump done on my Audi and it all came in at £360 inc VAT. Bear in mind the 2 yr warranty on their work, so if engine goes bang due to belt failure you have some recourse.

Should Sheffielders be thoroughly ashamed of our roads?
Hepstall replied to Hepstall's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
It is indeed an embarrassment. The state of the roads and the quality of some of the patchwork leaves lots to be desired. You can't drive comfortably or safely on the roads in Sheffield and these problems plague areas all over the city. Its a thorough disgrace and quite honestly a scandal. -
Hi all, On a drive of around 18 miles around Sheffield today I found it hard to find a road which wasn't in an exceptionally poor state (main A roads exception). How have the roads got into such a bad state of repair? Why put speed bumps on roads that are barely drivable over 15 mph? Do vehicles have a shortened component lifespan here in the UK due to the poor roads, whereas in Germany you can find a typical family box (such as a Renault Scenic) with 250,000 kM without a rattle? I have seen some of the finest even town / village roads there Are we a failed city for our road standards?
