Can anyone help me get a Passport? I do not exist?
stimpy replied to Dentzler's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
good luck! I was in a similar position. came to the uk on my mums passport when was 8. fastforward 22 years and I look at getting my dual national passports. I had never had a passport my entire life as I never went abroad. Went to apply for my uk passport and using my mothers passport along with my original birth certificate from Aus was not enough to prove who I was! my NI number, taxes paid, mortgages and school/work history meant squat..... so I got my australian passport and moved back here! -
exactly. as above really, where you working? I used to live in horbury and loved it... so much so I bought there.

Buy a plane ticket to anywhere, get on plane and never look back. If you have nothing to come back to or lose, you will make it work.

Driving instructor quitted on me a week before my test.
stimpy replied to Zoowatch's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
For what? Instructor was an *rse, OP chose to stay with them until now. Bad timing? yes, unprofessional? yes..... just move on and find a new instructor. Simple as that. -

Can a full service cause an ECU fuel pump problem?
stimpy replied to Fitster's topic in General Discussions
Damaging the (fueling) ecu... no. Damaging the fuel pump potentially. As above, air in the system could potentially cause the pump to work incorrectly. If its the pump I would be inclinded to think the garage pays for. If it is the ecu, then I would say luck of the draw. -

So the doorman stood infront of you to stop you. Assuming that you didnt want to stop ( already in the mood to 'have it out' ) you tried to go through him and he used force to stop you. He pushed(not punched or kicked) you and you fell awkwardly. Being intoxicated you may not of had the awareness to break your fall hence the injuries. Doesnt sound like he was over the top and the resulting injuries were an unfortunate result of your intoxication...... Flame suit on......

10 quid pommies! my parents did the same! We did it 3 years ago now.... But it was a little easier for us. I'm Australian, not that i havent lived here for 22 years, but i didnt need a visa. I was able to sponser the girlfriend. 2 years, lots of hoops jumped through and about $2500 later she is granted her residency. I am also picking my mate up from sydney airport in about 10 days. He used a visa agent who did all the hard work for him. He paid his money... About 4k iirc, and he was granted a skills visa. Booked his one way flight and has taken the plunge!

Any recommendations for an international removal company?
stimpy replied to a topic in General Discussions
I too used pickfords to move my stuff to australia. Good price, a few mistakes to start with but sorted out very quickly when questioned and delivery was bang on time. They even rescheduled the days delivery run to coincide with my work times. -
Race wars, is it coming to a town near you?
stimpy replied to monkey69's topic in General Discussions
Theres me thinking a dis-used airfield, lots of high powered cars racing for pink slips and classic lines from vin diesel! Mis leading thread title! Oh well. -
7 weeks in Nov will put you smack bang into xmas flight costs.... As others have said forget the package stuff. Create your own itinerary. Sit down one night and look at your particular dates for cricket and work around them. Book everything individually so you know exactly where you want to be doing and exactly what you want to do. Dont worry about getting lost... We have street signs here aswell! Ignore the scaremongerers that talk about spiders and snakes, its just not like that. As with all countries there are places that are rough and places that are spectacular. Were a friendly bunch over here and so long as you can take a pom joke or 3, you will be fine.... And have many stories when you return home.

With all due respect... Alot has changed since the 70's! Lol You will be perfectly fine travelling on your own. I would say pick a flight to a major city and book a hotel there for a few nights. Use that time to explore the area and plan your next destination. The people are friendly and will be more than happy to help!.... Just ask!
