I think community sums it up. You can live in an area or district but if there is no community then it is faceless and does not conjure up any memories.

I came from Owlerton a group of streets opposite Hillsborough park.

The people who lived in those streets all knew each oher, many families inter marrying which made even close ties.

Living in yards also created a close knit community and once living in these areas you never forget the people there.

I have travelled extensively and in my memory the people I lived amongst as a kid were the salt of the earth.

There wasn't the 'Dog eat Dog' attitude that the likes of Thatcher championed and is prevalent amongst a lot of people today

  2. i went for tea on friday, and would echo most of the comments on here.

its really cheap and you get lots for your money!

on the more critical side.... i felt the chicken was not the best quality meat and the hot and spicy dishes were not that hot and spicy !

but if you are looking for cheap quick and cheerful - then you can't go too wrong here.

  3. I think it depends on the individual child to be honest.

different kids mature at different ages. So one persons 10 year old daughter may be mature and responsible enough to make the decision and keep it clean afterwards. The only person who can reasonably know whether the person can cope or not are the parents who know them well.

So i think it is down to parental/personal choice.
