  1. Yes, it'll be going up soon enough, don't worry.
  2. Yup, my fear is Weds will get rid of Monk when it's the players with all the power. How many more managers? Weds in more trouble than we dare to consider at the moment. 🙁
  3. Lol, absolutely! Just a matter of time. On another note can you imagine using this service? Shudder. I would rather walk there backwards blindfolded!
  4. I'm a little curious here, because busdriver1 makes quite a bit about the Sheffield buses being a "cheap" service. I'd like to understand better the facts behind that and perhaps see some evidence. Admittedly I have only done a few cursory searches around the net and this may be based on outdated data, but we seem to me to be pretty comparable price-wise to other cities. It's not particularly dramatically cheaper than Leeds to travel in Sheffield. Or Nottingham, or even London. They all seem to me to be fairly comparable. like, you may gain a cheaper monthly pass in one city, but pay more for one-off journeys and vice-versa, and this seems to be the theme. I quite liked the London deal of having ten journeys with a single ticket, but then that is the capital I suppose. You can easily find comments from Leeds bus users that are just as incensed as Sheffielders at price hikes for example. It's not like it's a unique thing. And have price rises there resulted in better services? Tl;dr - what quantifies Sheffield as especially "cheap" in this discussion? Thanks.
  5. May have found him. Looks like he moved to Rotherham. I'll try and call him tomorrow. Sorry for inconvenience!
  6. MAJOR BUMP. Sorry folks, genuine reason for bump. Really hoping to find out here. Does anyone know if NTL Property Services are still working? Googling about I can only find old contact numbers and addresses no longer in use. I know he moved from Yew Lane to Holme Lane, but then moved shop again and I cannot find him. Really hoping he is still working as he was a godsend a few years ago, and we're desperate for a reputable person we know we can trust. If anyone knows anything I would really appreciate it. Many thanks.
  7. No, but Bruce would be gone. He could hardly come back after this could he? Who would want him? He doesn't want to be there anyway.
  8. Wouldn't THAT have been wonderful! Turns out sadly, that it's rubbish. Just Ashley trying to force Weds' hands into taking his offer and get season tickets sold. Cue plenty of p***ed off Weds and NU fans on the internet. If it had been true, I would have hoped that Weds would not have accepted him back into the job at Hillsborough. Another Brucie bridge burned imho.
  9. Silly "book-cooker" comments aside, Grappler's view of things is pretty much my take on it too and exactly what I was saying to Mrs Hazuki. There's no altruism here - don't be naive. I've little doubt Mr Bruce will be at Newcastle on Monday, and what a sour taste in the mouth it leaves either way. I think Weds are right to push NU/Ashley to pay up. What a poor start to proceedings it all was (and I warned a mate of mine that this type of beginning would be a good indication of who Bruce would be at Hillsborough - we should have looked elsewhere imho when he was stalling) and *potentially* what a mess left behind when he goes. Poor all over Mr Bruce, I couldn't support you if you stayed so go you must. Imperative now that Weds move him on toot-sweet, get the best deal and take their time finding the right person.
  10. Yeah I heard it, and a chill filled the room. Not a pretty march through the town centre for some lovely ex-military folks, but rather an Orange Walk. Soon as I heard the pipe whistle and the tune I froze. No business in Sheffield this I'm afraid. Highly sectarian, the sort of thing you see in Ireland and occasionally Scotland (though it's usually the football that brings them out there - see Rangers vs Celtic). But not here thanks very much.
  11. Amazing tonight again here in sunny S5. Speedtest reports 0.66Mb/s. I'm trying to update my Raspberry Pi install; 77Mb, and it's been 40 mins so far. It's not like it's solely a WiFi thing. The desktop PC wired in is just the same.
  12. Thanks for all your useful and informative posts here. It looks like we're going to have to do something too. Really poor service in the S5 area. Terrible download speeds both on wireless and directly wired for some months now. Lucky if I was hitting 500Kb/s updating my Android box today. In fact it struggles along at under the old dial up speed for the most part. It's been like this for a while, and we've phoned up for engineers and jumped through the hoops on the phone but it makes no difference. I even tried removing the Superhub and reinstating the original modem and my TP Link router (which was new) and this hasn't affected things. You wouldn't mind if it wasn't for the letters you get. "We've given you a speed boost!", which may be effective for a day or two before it's back to the old crap speeds. I've seen us hit 6Mb/s only the once. And then after that "You're bill is going up"! Suffered it for too long, going to start keeping Speedtest logs as stated here. Got to do something.
  13. Lucky you L00b, I can help you with this! I'm the same, very much an old school game fan. Can't live without Street Fighter 2 Hyper and Sonic the Hedgehog. I tinkered with the Raspberry Pi for a while, but found no matter what I do it never quite makes the grade. It's great for 16 bit, but not so good when moving onto N64 and DC. Decided whether or not that stuff matters to you. You can get a great retro system out of a Pi with Retropie, but I would recommend RPi 2 at least, not the older one unless 16 bit only. Anyhoo, I moved onto the Ouya, and have to say I ended up loving it dearly. This is not entirely true. Ouya was bought by Razer, and the Ouya staff moved onto the Razer Forge/Cortex service. If you have an Ouya, like me, it's still working and will continue to do so unless Razer decide to turn off the servers (could happen). However, I have recently spent a LOT of time with the Mad Catz MOJO. Got one very cheap (£60) off Amazon from a German trader (Avides/Sediva, either or, they're the same). Never done it before, but I've spent a lot of time flashing custom versions of Android onto it. The stock OS is Androind 4.2.2 and you will have to root the device to get the full store. PLEASE don't be put off by this! It is supremely easy and importantly YOU CANNOT BRICK THIS DEVICE. If it goes all wrong (like mine did today because I won't leave it bloody alone!) plug it back into your PC and start again. Anyway, when I get mine back up and running it will be using Cyanogenmod 12.1 (as it did before I started trying to break it!), available on the XDA forums. It is perfectly safe to use and based on Lollipop 5.1.1. It runs all emulators so well, I have been massively impressed with the device, and I would recommend it if you are OK with learning to flash the device. I have been running Street Fighter 3 Third Strike and even Soul Calibur on DC this week. Otherwise, yes the Ouya is still brilliant for emulation too. It's more powerful and easier to use than a Pi imo. Not much user involvement needed beyond clicking install on your favourite emulators. But the MOJO is more powerful still if you are prepared to get a little hands on. If you need any further assistance please post up and I'll keep and eye out for you.
  14. Seems odd to pick on Moonshine lane, when just about EVERY area in Sheffield is covered in litter. And it is getting worse, but it's nothing new. Sheffielders have always had a very blasé attitude to litter. I remember Sheffield being much the same when I was a kid in the 70's. I've been all over Yorkshire in my working life, and you will not find anywhere with more trash-filled streets than in Sheffield. There's nowhere like it. The people just don't care, and will see nothing in lobbing crap out of a car window or throwing wrappers on the streets.
