what is your best recollection of longley park mine is throwing rocks at the conkers to get them down also taking cardboard boxes to slide down the steep grass slopes and in winter sliding down on sledges

hi oldtimer you could have past right behind where i used to live does the name george wilde ring a bell

it seems sad to pull down houses that apparently some are still in good condition. i lived in #158 and it backed onto the wheatfield i remember as a kid our gang used to build haystacks there and build tunnels through them and lob haybombs at each other

i lived in #79 buchanan road and i am 99% sure this happened to me and not a dream i was about 9 years old and was in bed with two of my older sisters i was in the middle i am getting goose bumps just thinking about it for some reason i woke up and we had big duffle coats on the back of the bedroom door one slid forward and travelled around the bed as if on wheels it went back the same way, i did not wake my sisters up as i was scared stiff and couldn't move shivering now dave
