  1. I buy records on the internet now, just because all but 1 of the shops that sell the genre I buy have closed down. The remaining shop doesnt have a great selection for me personally. I believe that internet shopping contributed to the closing, as generally its cheaper per item.
  2. So would you run pedestrians over for commiting the crime of crossing the road, if there was no designated crossing point?
  3. Watch out for kids on home made go-karts, the wheely bin wheels are excellent for them. A mates kid brother made one years ago after stealing a w. bin from an empty house. It is annoying, i had one stolen a few weeks ago. Its a shared one too but its ben replaced now. Which reminds me, I must number it.
  4. All 1/2 an inch of it causing complete roadblock.
  5. My friend arranged a party there in the evening for his wife to be's birthday a couple of years ago. We had to pay a small fee each (i dont recall how much) then the cost of the pot (mine was a big mug at £10). We were allowed to take our own booze in and were given menus from Alfie & Bellas takeaway,to order pizza etc. We were there from about 7.30 till midnight and it was alot of fun.
  6. My other half knows how I tick perfectly, he puts up with my PMT and moodiness, makes me laugh when Im fed up or had a bad day and makes a cracking cuppa.Hes very charming (not in a sleazy way) and pays me lots of compliments. He listens to me when I have something to say, works hard so we can have nice things and is usually right if we argue, although he'll never act like hes won (I think that bit ties in with the PMT!) Hes tons better than me when it comes to housework, although we are both messy as hell, his tidying far outshines mine. Hes very affectionate and isnt scared of saying "I love you" even if his mates are there. I feel Im very lucky. Im nearly 30, hes 22 (hes mature for his years, im not as grown up as my age suggests!) so were just about even. As a bonus hes very good looking and has lovely eyes!
  7. Id say it depends how good your friends are. Id also say Id choose my partner, but only because he is such a good support for ME when my friends are in need, and Im soggy from being a shoulder to cry on.
  8. On the defence of Greenweb, it appears they are HAPPY with the low rent etc in Parsons Cross compared to London. That is all.
  9. Thanks Jackdanny, I will bear it in mind. My in-laws to be have found a couple of places for us to look at, wherever we have it will have to be ok with having a mini rave in the building! Im a dj, as are many of my friends, and it will be a pretty loud affair by the end of it. Hence me choosing Cutlers initially, with its nightclub bit upstairs.
  10. I was "on the dole" or equivalent, for 2 and a half years when I left school. I didnt know what I wanted to do with my life, so I didnt go to college. School really didnt motivate me and I did badly in my GCSEs, even though I was tipped for very good results. I was given my own flat at 18 and was claiming benefits at the time, and was told by the advisor who dealt with my signing on, that it was pointless me even applying for jobs that were under £180 a week as I wouldnt be able to afford rent, bills, and council tax comfortably on my own. This was in 1996. I work hard now, in a job that pays ok, and i have been there 7 years but i dont want promoting higher because the unsocial hours i would have to work wouldnt be worth the small pay rise. Luckily I am sharing a flat with my fiance, and we are doing ok but i would like to get a job that pays a proper salary, like many people have built up to by grafting. Unfortunately i dont have a degree in something irrlevent to these positions so I am never in the running when applying. This grates me when i see people with a university education in the place that i work using no common sense whatsoever. I find it understandable that people are on the dole for long periods of time, the best jobs go to people who p****d their student loan money up the wall for a year, before knuckling down for a bit to scrape through degrees. (I know this because alot of my friends have done this) Oh well rant over, i think i went on one a bit there!
  11. @Bago Well no one has got back to me from Hammersons, and going on what you have written it is probably a good idea to find somewhere else. Its a shame though as the venue hire was free. Cheers for your reply. Im sure i will have other ideas.
  12. Well, I have rang someone up in the company that are dealing with it, and they are going to contact the demolition people and find out when its happening. Fingers crossed its after my wedding. They should be geting back to me soon.
  13. Does anyone know when the area where cutlers bar is being redeveloped?(Near casbah etc) My fiance and I have sort of booked our wedding reception in cutlers function room but th manager said that if the redevelopment had started we wouldnt be able to hold it there, but she didnt know when it would be. We are getting married in May, obviously we will have to make other plans if it will be closed but it means hiring somewhere much more expensive, when there is a possibility that it will still be there. Sorry to the mods if you feel this is in the wrong place. move it if you wish. Cheers for any info, feel free to pm me if you might get into trouble posting info publicly lol!
  14. Thanks Kashul, but hes after a proper metal one, without stones.
  15. We are getting married next year and my fiance wants to wear a crown on the wedding day! After trawling the internet the only one we have found that is suitable is £100, which is well over what I paid for my entire bridal outfit, (I am a very good bargain shopper) and too expensive. We managed to find one that was quite cheap, but it turns out that it is only suitable for a boy size head, not a full grown man. This is the link to the pic so you can see the sort of thing i mean..... http://www.thecrownshophk.com/img/557.jpg I think we need to have it made specially, but we cant afford to spend alot. there seems to be an awful lot of places that you can make brides jewellery/ accessories at, but does anyone know of anywhere that would be able to help with this , as its more metalwork orientated than wire and bead. Perhaps you know someone who does this sort of thing for work, hobby or even art! Thanks for any help. xx
  16. Im looking for one of my old mates. her name is Melanie Allsop. Well she could have changed her last name by now, and I may have spelled it wrong as I could never remember the correct way. I used to work with her at British Heart Foundation on Pinstone street before she got promoted to Relief Manager. We became friends and hooked up every so often, but then stuff went on with me and i didnt see her for a while, as these things happen, and then i had my phone stolen and lost contact numbers for her. This was about 2003. I have searched to no avail on facebook and Friends reunited, so was wondering if anyone on here could help. She has (had) huge curly brown hair and last time i saw her she was living with a guy called Chris. this was near Meersbrook. Id really like to get in touch with her to see how things are going with her. thank you xx
  17. My bloke does aggresive skating. Once when he was out for the day , I texted him with "are you bleeding yet?" His reply was, "My heart bleeds every second were apart.."
  18. Theres also that whole "getting older" issue now aswell. Anti-wrinkle creams with added "special" ingredients that have stupid names. @Cosmetic companies. YOU CANT STOP TIME...FACT.
  19. This. Its the media that messed everthing up in the first place. Also the influx of sh#te "celebrity" magazines such as heat, now etc pointing out that jessie wallace has a beer belly or cameron diaz has a "wierd armpit" and spots. Its making people think that normal things arent normal anymore. Gone are the days of old. I remember seeing photos of my nan when she was young with her mates of all shapes and sizes on the beach with their cossies on, and no one cared about this sort of stuff back then. People were praised for talents and skills, not slated for looks that were normal. P.S. Whats "Gracia" magazine?
  20. I was wondering if anyone had this problem....
  21. My hair cost me £7.50 for cutting it and putting layers in it.
