  1. Bit of a long shot but part of my family has Nettleships in the mix and i wonder if anyone knows of any in the area still?
  2. Oh and Peterdo it was the Palfremans who had farm in Wath that had shop. My father was Jack Fareham he was manager there and a very good butcher - made his own dripping in the upstairs rooms. Also made the most amazing pork pies i used to love to eat them hot and the jelly would run down my chin! I didt ever do spud picking but did plenty of tea making and washing up huge tins and trays! happy days!!

  7. Four Feather Falls that was great! Bonanza had an amazing theme tune. What about Man in a Suitcase?
  8. I think I was Bill Murrays character in Groundhog Day....or am I a little bored today....? Would like to come back a beach bum in Mauritius or somewhere equally Gorgeous!!!
  9. Yes take your point on the showers etc - maybe different location for that. There were definately some pupils from a local Barnsley school in the film as we used to sit in cafe on Saturdays and after school so got to know about it. Great casting and the lead boy 'Casper' had no acting training. Loved the house - patterned wallpaper, different patterned curtains and different again on the chair covers etc so bad its good!!
  10. It was a long time ago but made in the Barnsley area. I was the girls high school at that time some parts of film were shot at local comprehensive. Anyone seen it?
  11. Anyone remember a butchers shop in Wath called 'Palfremans' - is it still there? Ask your mams and dads if they remember Jack Fareham - thats my late dad - had the shop in the 50s and 60s - sorry for leading this away... !! carry on dont mind me!
  12. My daughters birthday today - think shes feeling blessed to have a lovely day for her birthday when all around is rain!! Shes 20 today!
  13. Sorry only a few pounds more expensive having a combined death or earlier critical illness policy.
  14. By law the only must have is buildings insurance. Death or Earlier Critical Illness policies are only a few pounds cheaper than seperate policies. If you are young and healthy at the outset then the cover can be quite affordable depending on the cost of the house/amount to be protected. Once having set this up then the idea is to keep it as it will only become more expensive to get cover later. Usually the plans can be amended for changes such as a bigger house etc at a later date.
