  1. Cheers for the answers JL and Complete Heating! I may be giving one of you a call this week! As for the Carbon Monoxide, the boiler is in an outbuilding which is well ventilated, with no entry for any gas to enter the house proper. I've only been running the boiler for half an hour or so, to get the chill out of the house, and to keep the system circulated.
  2. I've got a Glowworm Ultimate boiler (sorry, no other make or model number I can find!) When it turns on, the fan turns, but the pilot light won't light. I've had a look inside, and there's no spark lighting the pilot. I think our boiler doesn't have a permanent pilot light. The gas is flowing, because I can light it manually, and once lit the heating works fine, but once it gets up to temperature, and the thermostat turns off the gas, it won''t relight again. Anyone have any ideas of whats wrong, and how much?
  3. I can't believe NO-ONE apart from Plain-talker has picked up on this! Care to provide us with some links to back up this quite astounding statement? (Wikipedia entries no longer count as a source!) (One quick Google later: Were Olympic and Titanic swapped as a part of an insurance fraud? This was an "artificial controversy" invented a few years back when it was suggested that the Olympic, too heavily damaged in a collision to be fixed, was sent back to the builder’s yard and her identity swapped with the Titanic, which was then under construction. The "theory" then goes on to state that the "Titanic" (in reality the damaged Olympic) was deliberately rammed into the iceberg as part of a massive insurance fraud, although the loss of life was a "genuine" accident since the White Star Liner Baltic was supposed to be in position nearby to effect an heroic rescue. The "theory" is completely disproved by well-documented physical differences between Olympic and Titanic. In addition, no artifact that was part of the Ship’s hull or outfit has any other identification other than the Titanic’s hull number – 401. Likewise, over the years, hundreds of items have been sold at auction from the Olympic, which was broken up in 1935 for scrap. No artifacts from Olympic have ever been marked with any other identification other than her hull number – 400. http://www.rmstitanic.net/index.php4?page=faq )
  4. Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man. And so SO untrue! COD4 is fantastic (on the 360) I also enjoyed playing America's Army on the PC, but the hardcore players on there really DO take it seriously! Counter Strike WAS good once, but wallhackers, cheaters and aimbots ruined that for me. Never got into WoW or any fantasy sort of things like that. I think I maxed out my fantasy gaming interests playing D&D and Warhammer when I was younger.
  5. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/digitalmedia/pc.htm Everything you need to know is here. Found, funnily enough, on the Official Xbox site!
  6. Is it?? Mine wasn't! Or did you mean the Hard Drive was included?
  7. My Dad just rang Ebuyer, who refunded him his next day delivery charge and sent a new one out.
  8. Sony Ericsson W810i Walkman phone (as an example) = £70 if you shop around. Looks less obtrusive than a pearl white or lime green iPod nano, and it can handle at least a couple of albums worth of music. Decent headphones, sounds good, nice camera, also has an FM radio. I've also got an iPod, and it's gathering dust in my sock drawer. The phone is so much easier to carry round, you can take calls if you're listening to the music, rather than missing calls if you've got your MP3 player on, and you only need one charger! The only time the iPod get used is on the plane going on hols! Seriously, if your daughter wants a new phone AND an MP3 player, unless you're minted, get her a phone than can play MP3's!
  9. Unless your daughter has 4000 mp3's in her collection, and is a complete audiosnob, a Sony Walkman phone will be a great choice. Remember, two devices = two opportunities for loss or theft!
  10. My Dad ordered one of these from ebuyer last week, and HIS laptop also "went missing" in transit with CityLink! Oh, and the laptop is VERY nice for the money!
  11. Who the bloody hell would build a hotel in Darnall?? There's a massive office building on Prince thats been empty for at least three years! A shopping centre in the style of Crystal Peaks would be a better option though, but i couldn't see this happening either.
  12. Or indeed the Harrier Jump jet, and the Osprey to name two more
  13. Or probably paying Council Tax to get rid of these "subversive street installations" that these middle class heroes are spraying all over. Would I be able to come round their house and **** all over their carpet? I mean, to ME, that would be art, and as such, allowed...
  14. I'd no idea we'd been bombed by Zeppelins in the First World War, but a quick Google, and voila! http://www.chrishobbs.com/sheffieldsfirstraid1916.htm
  15. Cases such as disregarding the rules that the League put into place to stop creditors being ripped off?? If Leeds can't play by the rules, then stuff 'em. They are lucky that the league is letting them play this year. Still...:lol::lol::lol:
  16. More likely the "spotter" had been drinking in Legends all afternoon
  17. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281679 Any good to you?
  18. That's harsh if it's true. Calcotts always FELT like a tackle shop, with the masses of gear hanging off the shelves, and the staff drinking tea and having a ciggy on the counter. Bennetts may have a bit more wherewithall to survive (did you see em on Look North? EVERYTHING downstairs was ruined !!), but I thought Calcotts would be buggered. I used to go in Bennetts and look at stuff, and then go over the road and buy it from Calcotts Lets hope they can both keep going, even if Calcotts have to move somewhere on higher ground. Darnall would be good
  19. I agree about the "excitement" angle. I also had to yomp all the way home. Trying to cross over a smallish river (normally), in the 4th largest city in England, in the 21st Century was certainly a task yesterday! Makes you wonder what it's like when the Yangtze, the Ganges and the Nile flood properly though doesn't it?
  20. The Parkway at Darnall POW exit is chocablock in both directions, but the traffic is moving, albeit slowly. I'm looking out the back window, so can't say what it's like getting on or off anywhere else...
  21. You must have been... They weren't specifically saying "its a weather themed afternoon", but at one bit, they were definately playing rain and weather themed songs and jingles. Me and my mate in the car mentioned that they should have been paying more attention to the situation, rather than trying to be funny. They may have wised up rather quickly, but as I said, we'd abandoned the car by then and started wading home.... Our own fault really for thinking that Hallam would be any good in a crisis....
  22. It did last summer after a sudden downpour. The resulting wash out of sewage killed thousands of fish in the Rother and Don. Just think what all THIS rain is doing to the sewers, and you STILL see idiot kids playing in it!!
  23. Hallam were definately doing it around 4 o clock. Dunno if they carried on, cos we abandoned the car shortly after! Half the city was stuck on the roads, and Hallam were playing stupid "weather themed" songs, and Radio Sheffield was doing it's Golden Years quiz. Ridiculous...
