  1. I went in September to Loaf at CP's and the haircut was fab. I didn't feel good vibes about the place though considering the salon had only been open a couple of weeks the staff didn't have the buzz you might expect. I was to go back next week but due to cost have changed my mind. I booked at Bella Capella after seeing good reviews on here and found the lady who took my call very pleasant and happy to help. However when I rang Loaf the girl that took my call seemed totally disinterested and unprofessional - glad I changed my mind about going there as it was potentially going to cost £80 and I expect better customer service for that kind of money!
  2. Thinking of joining this gym. Forgot to ask if there's free parking with membership - wondered if anyone on here has any info
  3. I know that this does sometimes happen but I think putting a post on here is a bit unfair - we're not aware of other people's issues and to judge this way is wrong.
  4. Can anyone recommend a Moroccan restaurant near or in Sheffield city centre?
  5. I always look on Trip Advisor before booking - never had a bad experience after using it
  6. Totally agree with Darth Vader's first comment. I'm a fellow sufferer and at times get anxious about it coming back but like you have learned now to recognise the signs which must be a positive. For me like Darth advises I think about what I've done before - sometimes it can be difficult to remember especially when you're feeling down. A technique that worked for me is I have a little notebook when I'm feeling down I make a note 1-10 of how I'm feeling. The higher the number the better I am. For instance I once was feeling down and put a 2, washed my car and after felt that I was a 7. Its a really useful tool and has worked for me hope it can do the same for you!
  7. Yes I did but they are quite expensive and was just wondering about a cheaper alternative - don't think there's much need for the head scratching though!
  8. Hi, my hairdresser has gone AWOL and am looking for a hairdresser who does good colour and cutting based in the Woodhouse area. There's one at the top of Station Road near the Indian takeaway I'm thinking about using but not sure yet!
  9. I went today and Richard did my hair. Its a fabULOUS cut and colour is great. Also they're going to be giving NHS staff 20% discount and this should be appearing on the NHS discount site anytime soon:)
  10. [ Obesity has been forecast to be a huge problem for the country in a few years time - at an enormous cost to the NHS. I think anything that encourages people to tackle the problem before they develop diabetes or other weight-related problems is a good idea. ANSWER = think about what you are eating, the amount, having fruit instead of biscuits/crisps and get off the sofa and go for a walk! People NEED to help themselves - I agree that in the end the taxpayer will end up paying the medical bill which is why resouces should be better used in the first place; ie healthy eating cookery classes, health walks.
  11. I've suffered and at times still suffer from depression. Yes you are right exercise does help but going for a walk, gardening and getting a cheap hobby like keeping an allotment all work and don't cost the taxpayer a penny.
  12. Sorry didn't explain this too well - what I meant was cos they won't be paying themselves it won't matter to them whether they go or not. As a lot of people who do pay for themselves end up not really using their membership I think the likelihood is a lot of these people will end up not using the membership and, therefore, it'll be a total waste of OUR money which in my opinion shouldn't be used for this in the first place
  13. I did my GCSE English a few years ago at the age of 41. It was a class varied in ages from about 20 - 60. It was the best thing I ever did and has certainly helped me in respect of getting my job. Good luck!
  14. Great so now my NI and taxes can pay for this! Having this paid for will not encourage people to use it - will just be a waste of taxpayers money. Going for a walk does not cost a penny, I know I've just come back from a 3 hr local walk and its not even cost me bus fare! If you want to get fit you will, having tax payers shell out for this is a total waste.
  15. The negative comments are actually on this forum and I wanted to check out (as I've been proved right from this thread) that not everyone is of the same opinion! Is it "cheek" I don't think so:huh:
  16. There are a couple of negative comments about working for Alpha Rooms - just wondered if there is anyone on here currently working with them who could give feedback?
  17. Be careful with your speed on Shepcote Lane at the Tinsley Roundabout end. Just before you get to the roundabout Police are regularly going to be there doing speed checks as they've received complaints from people living close by.
  18. Hi, on Chapel Walk in town there's a place that does keep fit, line dancing, crafts - can't remember what its called but it does advertise in the what's on section in the Star
  19. To be honest I wouldn't be happy about it but you have to make a decision based on present circumstances ie financial climate. Does your hubby really want to allienate himself with his employers - you don't want to be the first in line if they make cutbacks. Many people would be happy to swap places at the moment. However, if you've already arranged stuff then thats a totally different thing. ps: I would ask about being paid travelling expenses so as not to be out of pocket though - don't ask, don't get is my philosophy and the worst they can say is no!
  20. I've seen a notice while driving past of various courses on offer - anyone know what they are?
  21. Its people like you who literally make me feel sick - I've noticed this tends to happen quite a lot in crowded pubs
  22. I've been 3 times - never had any problems. This can happen anywhere
  23. Will explain my review. Me and hubby ordered tomatoe and basil soup - when it came it was french onion, hubby doesn't like it and when I tasted it it was awful - we had not been asked if the change was ok. We sent it back. I had the bombadier steak and ale pie but where was the steak cos I couldn't find it. The chocolate gateau was ok but what can be difficult in opening a box and taking it out. As for the waiting staff - the ones we had were surly to say the least. We went to the Crispin Inn at Great Longstone a few weeks ago and it was far better
