Is there an est agents called Heptonstall in Sheff
happylady replied to Janus's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Think its not in business now - the Handsworth premises have been empty for some time now -
Trying to give a friend a bit of support in coping with her 22 yr old who has Aspergers. Just wondered if there are any groups in Sheffield where he can go to and meet similar people who hopefully will be able to help him cope with the anxieties he has which his parents are finding it difficult to find answers for.

I go to yoga. It is great for making you more supple and for toning. I also find it very relaxing and it helps me when I'm feeling stressed.

Thank you and goodbye to night time Ambassadors

Keeping the kids safe surely is a parental job or are we employing city centre nannies? Help with events in Sheffield? Did we never have events until ambassadors came on the scene? Sure its a horrible job working in the public sector at the moment but its our turn, instead of expecting the private sector to bear the brunt. Everyone knows that we have to make cuts perhaps we should have an opinion poll on who should go and my bet is the ambassadors day and night time would be the top of the list. Am a Sheffielder born and bred and we've always managed before! -

Obviously I have hit a nerve. To state that NHS staff would starve if they had to live in the real world and have selfish opinions shows that you have no personal evidence of what it is like to work in this sector where we have medical staff who prefer to work in the NHS rather than lining their pockets in the private sector. True there are people who would find it hard to work in the private sector but in my experience they a very small minority of people who work in a health setting. I have worked in the private sector also and, in fact, find the job I have now trying to help people who are quite distressed about their children's health much more challenging. However, getting back to your original point, if you equate the use of Sheffield ratepayers money being spent on having ambassadors on the streets of Sheffield as necessary as money being spent on eg: schools, old peoples homes, social services then I wonder who's the one being selfish here! -

nothing which you have said makes me change my opinion. am glad services are being cut back in this way rather than eg having to shut another old people's nursing home. if its a police job then no reason to pay again. I work for the NHS where we have severe cutbacks and the amount of work at times is overwhelming for some of us. If we're not doing our jobs properly would you be happy to pay privately and go elsewhere, probably not! -

Surely its a police role which should make you feel safe to walk the streets. I prefer not to pay twice for the same service. -

can confirm it is was in last week - get brewing -
Depends which section of healthcare you're in. In my experience working for a PCT is a doddle compared to working in a hospital environment. I work at the children's as a secretary and its getting more difficult by the hour cos of the financial situation. Good starting block though for moving up the ladder as NHS are usually quite willing to allow you to do work related courses.

happylady replied to Iwork2shop's topic in Going out in Sheffield
not sure you were at the same show as me. I thought the first act was brilliant. wasn't so keen on the everly pregnant brothers but they were funny but would have preferred more from Toby. ps: my watch is definitely to time and it was 10.00 exactly when they went off. not sure what you're expecting for 15.50 per ticket! am off to get some ferro rocher today to keep the ambassadors happy!! -

Went for the first time last night and was greatly impressed. Hadn't booked a table but luckily there'd been a cancellation so after a bit of a wait during which we had a lovely cocktail we were given a table. Lovely food, only criticism being that I had the fishcakes and a piece of lemon to squeeze over would have been nice. Staff very professional and food absolutely lovely, can't wait to go back

Do I have a right to see a dermatologist?
happylady replied to jenand8285's topic in General Discussions
Definitely ask to be referred. GP's are reluctant to do this as it costs them but you are perfectly entitled to request this especially as this has been going on for so long. If they won't help them then send in a complaint to Sheffield PCT. Hope things get better for you -
Saw a piece in last week's paper. To stop smells in washers put a cup of vinegar in the drum and run on a very hot wash

do you have a job there? comment sounds a bit fishy to me! -
As a parent of a 23 and 21 year old I would never try and tell them what to do but at the same time while I love them dearly I wouldn't let my home be somewhere for a boy/girlfriend to doss. If I were you I'd have a word with your daughter, voice your concerns about her boyfriend and leave her to decide whether she wants to have a waster for her other half but at the same time I'd explain that even if she's prepared to put up with it you aren't and that while she's always welcome to live at your house he isn't and that you want him to leave. It will be hard on you but even if she chooses to go with him rest assured that one day she will see the light and just make sure that she goes off knowing that she can always come back
