  1. I remember that lol. I was there from 94-99 and that story became legend lol ---------- Post added 12-01-2014 at 10:05 ---------- I was in greno panto for 7 years with mr Crowe. My mum and dad are great friends of his and they still perform on stage with him. He is just genuinely a nice guy, it's him that guided me into panto when I was in year 10 because I was shy and quiet and he did it to help me gain confidence and come out of my shell. I have a lot to thank him for. What you see is what you get and he is great fun
  2. We got one a while ago for there. We went to return a faulty TV to currys and they asked us to wait around (we live in chesterfield so couldn't go home and come back) while they looked at it. By the time they'd done that and sorted us out with a new tv then it was past the permitted parking time (we didn't even realise at that point). We recieved the fine about a week later and we rang currys and they actually sorted it out for us. Normally they don't but because it was their fault we were there so long and they remembered us they got it dropped. However I'm pretty sure my husband asked our friend about it (he's a traffic copper) and he told us it wasn't enforceable too. I think it's a stupid rule anyway because there are at least 9 shops on there and if you spent half an hour in 6 of those shops that's your time up right there. I don't know about you but it can take a while choosing tvs or toys or stuff from hobbycraft. I've managed to spend an hour in toys r us before. It's stupid and ridiculous!
  3. I have to say this thread has made me smile somewhat!
  4. I was in Mr. cubberley's class (1994-1999) although we had at least 2 or 3 form tutors before that. At one point ( I think it was Mr.Dearling or something) took ill and we had his wife take over. I can't even really remember who was in my class. I think there was kim booker, frankie mccauslin, clair darnell, just as few of the names I remember from my class. I agree with all of you that Mr.crowe was the best teacher there (he let us watch kingpin when he covered our french lesson) and I still see him as I went to the same panto organisation as him from the start of year 10 and he's now a friend of the family so I will have to tell him that you all think he's great lol. Kimbers23 (kimberly dunne?) I remember you, you were in my year although a different class.
  5. Yes some of them have gone back. My nan (evelyn) went back, auntie rita and uncle sam. Did you know my dad...dennis? How did you know them and when did you know them from? Sorry for so many questions but I'm intrigued about that part of my dad's life because he doesn't remember much about it to tell me.
  6. They were a big family that lived on the same side as the park, They were situated just at the bottom of the little hill as you come over from the roundabout and come down to the bottom of that little hill there are a couple of 4 bedroomed houses on the right hand side near the park entrance where the little stream runs behind them. They lived in one of those. An Irish family with twelve children. They will probably have moved in around 1967 as i remember my dad saying he was about twelve when he moved here. Just wondered if anyone could remember them.
