  1. It is lovely walking round there. I will definately come and dog walk for you hopefully sometime in the near future, I came out and walked Apollo (with a view to adoption) in the summer, but unfortunately I pulled a ligament in my arm a few months ago which doesn't seem to be getting much better, so have been unable to do anything which might make it worse.
  2. Unfortunately I have come across quite a few and it has sort of put me off the breed. 1. Staffie in park attacked my dog for no reason at all. 2. Bloke who lives down the road from me had three they jumped his fence and ripped my friends dog to pieces, she was so badly hurt she had to be put down. 3. One of my daughters friends was attacked by their own pet staffy and still has a scar on her face. Unfortunately these things do happen but I wouldn't say put them all down as I am sure lots are lovely.
  3. I def would not advise the Wharncliffe only been in once and never again, its like a holding pen for the Jeremy Kyle show!
  4. To be honest this is quite possible, I used to work for a Tarmac firm in the 80's and someone was actually going round houses saying they worked for our firm, and had left over Tarmac etc. We only found out when one dissatisfied resident rang the company up to complain. All they need is a copy letterhead to con vulnerable people.
  5. Personally I think its pathetic the legal age is 18 why do you need to look 25, unless someone is obviously under age and is served it shouldn't matter! Any way most under 18's have false id anyway if they really want to get alcohol, so I am realiably informed by my 17 year old.
  6. I remember being bussed there in the early 70's from Greystones, I think it used to be a Tuesday afternoon if I remember it rightly, I hated it they used to make us go outside no matter what the weather I just remember standing on the field and just freezing to death, I dont remember being allowed jumpers or anything just shorts and T shirts. It is one of the worst memories I have from school!
  7. Oh, and people (usually ones you gave birth to) who put empty orange juice cartons back in the fridge, but leave half-full ones out on the worktop. I have one like that but also a OH who takes great pleasure in leaving the milk out on the top all day during any blistering hot day we may have! So by the time you get home from work you are faced with a container full of cheese!!
  8. A lot of the houses down there that the Roma live in are not private landlords, they are housing association so you cant just blame private. I know this because of my friend who lives there so I somehow dont believe they are not given them by the council. I have a friend who also works in the housing and she informed me a long time ago that unless you are an immigrant or just out of prison you have no chance of getting housed.
  9. It happened to me one night in a pub in Chesterfield I was standing holding my glass when all of a sudden the bottom of the glass just sort of fell away, leaving me just holding the top half, it really shocked me and my two friends, I just put it down to a hair line crack just giving way.
  10. I had a couple of friends who absolutely loved Nirmals back in the 80's they actually thought they were best mates with Mrs Nirmal!! I went with them a couple of times but thought it was far to expensive and not very good, I wondered why they couldn't see that she was just trying to con them into spending more money!!
  11. My mastiff isn't bothered by them she runs around the garden looking up at them I think she thinks she will be able to catch them!! Although she did shoot in the house pretty quick when an airbomb went off, but was back out minutes later totally unfazed.
  12. Come on be honest would you want to live next door to them, I some how dont think so. Its easy to make these comments when you dont live anywhere near the area, how can you know what its like at all.
  13. I love it scared of us, is that why my friend was threatened with a stick for politely asking the neighbours to stop the blaring 24 hr music so her boyfriend could get some sleep before he went to work, and the receptionist at the local doctors was threatened because she said a roma couldnt get the appointment there and then he was demanding. Or the rude comments made to me and my friend as we walked to a local shop. Yes all keep living in your unrealistic little bubbles lets just hope they dont get burst to harshly when they move next door to you
  14. Just the same as his music then
  15. How annoying had booked a couple of days in Edinburgh to see the Pandas in September but couldn't see them as she was sopposed to be pregnant so was allowed to come and go as she pleased, we spent about 4 hours going backwards and forwards to the Panda enclosure to see if she had emerged and Zero not a peep. Will have to book a return journey now sometime in the future.
  16. I think their dog must have been fed on left overs as well, unfortunately their dog died of poisoning during the war, and the local vet said quite a few dogs in the surrounding area (Carbrook) had also been poisoned whether that was anything to do with the War, we shall never know as they never found out who did it.
  17. My mum was young in the II World War and she said she didn't remember anyone having their pets put down, they certainly kept their dog, maybe it wasn't a popular thing to do in Sheffield.
  18. Last year I added our daughter on there as she was 16 and it asks for anyone over 16, I have got our form this year and she is not included on it, so I will have to put her on it again and post it back, is this normal or should she have been already on it this year?
  19. Could I recommend thinking about a mastiff they tend to be quite lazy dogs in the house as adults and are also very family orientated and good with kids.
  20. May I suggest getting there before Tesco's actually open if you want to get a parking space the rest of the time you will be lucky its a total nightmare.
  21. I would be very surprised if they were bullmastiffs we are on our second bullmastiff as we fell in love with them they are such lovely docile and loving dogs. Even our vet said they are great dogs and the only one's he has seen that turned nasty had something wrong with them.
  22. I did find it quietly amusing when I was discussing the subject of the right to bear arms with an American friend who was adament that every USA citizen should own a gun, I simply asked him if he would feel differently if one of his family or friends was accidentally shot, he said dont be stupid nobody is accidentally shot, he soon shut up when I looked it up and found a link that stated in 2011 620 people in the USA were, and on average there is one child death every month. I really do not understand this obsession the US has with guns.
  23. Personally I think most people watch it because it brings a strong feeling of relief that your own weird, disfunctional and annoying family are really not that bad at all!
  24. Its horrible just dread September sat every night just waiting to see some huge hairy thing running across the carpet at any moment!! I do have my spider catcher which is very handy, the only proplem comes when they are actually too big to fit in it! Shudders at the thought.
  25. The Sheffield Arena has never pulled in many of the big name tours they nearly always miss out Sheffield and it will be even worse now the Leeds Arena is there. I don't know who is to blame for not attracting many major acts to the Arena but its been bad for years.
