  1. Has anyone noticed the new signs aboard stagecoach buses? For those of you who are not aware of them, they read; "We would request passengers not to play music loud enough for others to hear." Now, is this referring to kids playing RnB on the backseat through their mobile phones, or is it referring to portable music devices being played too loud? I think they've missed out the essential request - people having lengthly and personal conversations on their mobiles for the duration of what is usually about a 5 minute journey.. I'd much rather endure a journey trying to figure out what someone else is listening to on their music device, or worse still, the terrible music that some teens feel necessary to share with all the other passengers through the speakers on their 'moby' (mobile telephone device)... as opposed to having to endure the ramblings of some bimbo on her mobile dribbling on about her new bargain purchases, or going over the events of the previous night. It's not just boring, but it infuriates the hell out of me, that is this mobile phone advertise-your-life kind of culture. Did they not have enough space on the sign to include excessive and uneccessary mobile phone use, or is it seen as more acceptable? What do you think? I did want to question the company, just as a matter of interest rather than complaint, but I know from experience that there's no point as, a) it'd be a lot of effort for no outcome, and b) it wont alter what the signs say, and will only irritate and waste the time of the CSR's who have to deal with the query. Maybe I'm just too old for my age..! Your thoughts please!
  2. Domino's still do the Deluxe, just say you have a fiddy per cent voucher for auto half price (they wont ask you for it).
  3. Thank you for the fan screws! I've been trying to fix this simple problem for the last few days and as I've found, no mainstream electronics shops in Sheffield have been at all useful, or as helpful as you were. The Internet is usually the best way forward, but on this occassion I was pushed for time. I'm thoroughly sick of mainstream electronics stores with their minimal computing/electronics knowledge and stock. I wont hesitate in recommending your business to others and know where to take mine in the future. Thank you again!

  5. Not suprised you don't like Domino's if your favourite pizza comes from ASDA!! A lot of the Domino's horrendous price is due to the fact they employ some poor git to stand there slapping dough around for you (which is made from the 'finest' ingredients); imagine doing that for four hours without a break!
  6. I had a free meal last night thanks to some guys calling up with a prank order, I obviously had my suspicions but put it through anyway in hope it'd end up back in the store and in my mouth! mwarrhaha! TBH Domino's is Domino's, it has a certain breed of client - people with a few bob to spare on nice food. If you desire cheaper pizza then the only obvious alternative is to call Pizza Padrino, nuff said!
  7. Ecstasy should be allowed to be used recreationally just as alcohol is. I think in actual fact it'd probably be much less damaging than the social and medical effects of alcohol - the socially accepted drug. Unfortunately, I don't think our society is quite ready enough to accept drug use as being more commonplace today, there's still too much controversy over cannabis to unleash MDMA on the general population. I think people need to be more aware that there's a distinction and no direct link between drug addiction and recreational use, the line between the two is often blurred for loads of reasons; everyones personal chemical tolerance, lifestyle, dosage, situational effects, strength of the drug and emotional state is different. Every experience is different, and if you haven't had a first experience then you're not fully ready to judge other people's choices. As far as my research and experience has brought me, there have only been a few reported cases of death by ecstasy use, I've tried and enjoyed it on the odd occassion, I've also witnessed hundreds of people weekly using and mixing it with all matter of other drugs (including cocaine, ketamine, LSD, 2cb(?) etc) at raves, clubs, etc Driving under the influence of substance can cause serious harm to people's lives especially if the drug is not the normal state of mind, but this is constantly publicised and is common knowledge. But then again for many years I've travelled in cars with people under the influence of cannabis (to them their normal state of mind), so who am I to say, but I'm still here to say it though. I don't advocate drink or drug driving (I cannot drive myself so who knows), but if you're not the person driving under the influence, then you're bound to pass and have a small chance of encountering someone who is (and you probably do on a daily basis if you're a regular driver), if not they're over-worked, tired, shouting at kids, arguing with the wife, on medication, changing a CD, doing their lippy, trying to read a map, playing on their laptop/tv, or on their mobile phone. Life's unpredictable. What I've experienced and been totally shocked about is the police action at raves. In some situations the police advise ravers to drive away from the land for trespassing, despite being under the influence. After telling an officer when we were in this situation that our driver was intoxicated he still insisted we "moved on". Police insisted that the owners of over 150 vehicles get off the land (just because it was 'too close' to MOD base), the vast majoirty of these drivers will have literally just come up on amphetamines, alcohol and/or hallucinogens. I remember this particular incident it was about 4.30am, we were following a convoy of intoxicated drivers at about 25mph down the road to another rave. The people infront were swerving all over the road, some were driving hefty vans, brake lights coming on unecessarily, absolutely bricking it when this chav-mobile over-took at high speeds. I don't know how the police came to the conclusion that having 150+ intoxicated drivers out on the road was more safe than having them hanging around a MOD base.. People will continue to use drugs despite their legality, so rather than trying to prevent the flow of drugs the government should attempt to control and legitimise it. Unfortunately I don't think this will ever happen, if it did drug users would still complain about strength or whatnot, and it'd all end up in the same state we're all in today! I forsee the banning of alcohol and tobacco altogether before the legalisation of any drug. When will they learn, it wont stop anyone, we're only human we want to escape from reality in a way that doesn't involve spending our money in places such as Meadowhell.
  8. This happened last year and I'm not complaining 'cos it's a lifesaver! I'm just wondering if it happens to any other students.. Basically, my loan was due 7th Jan, but arrived in my account today, funny thing is the statement says that it's (today) the 7th January. Last year when this happened, I went to the cash point and then food shopping (2 days before the due date) so it's obviously there to spend.. Does anyone else experience this? I'm sick of living on beans so I'm off shopping now woo!
  9. You've only got feelings for him because he's on your mind and there are no doubts that he liked you in the past. If a new man cropped up in your life then you'd end up pursuing him with no thoughts to the ex. Maybe because of what happened between you too he's a little unsure of your intentions. He might just be being cautious because of the pregnancy in the past (even if it genuinely was an accident), from a male perspective he might be thinking you want to settle and have his babies this time around. Don't dwell on the past, we all know the worst could've ened in you being a single parent if he's not sure. Just take it slowly you've only just become single, don't appear needy. Sorry if that was harsh it wasn't intended if so! I'm a bit of a pessimist when it comes to men
  10. For ONCE I'm not a slave for the weekend shift! Thankgod for Christmas - people can't afford their ranky Texas BBQ pizza's and chicken strippers! Woohooooo!
  11. Why go back to someone from your past when you could start afresh? After break-ups people tend to drift back to people they had some kind of 'thing' with, you know there wont be any rejections with this guy.. If you have your doubts say no, but to me it sounds like you've already made your choice. If you've just split with someone else then just take it easy.. no rushing eh!
  12. I hate the smell of the place, it gives me a headache. I can't even tell what each individual product smells like because the combined smell of of the shop is just too intense.. I dunno how you lot make decisions about what you're buying!
  13. My mum moved from Norfolk to Sheffield last year with 2 cats, a piano, and all the rest. She did it cheaply, I don't think she would've spent more than a couple of hundred. My housemate helped her as she doesn't drive, I think it took two trips because we had lots of stuff, but we spaced it out over 2 or 3 days and all went smoothly. He's doing light removals now so check out his website http://www.andysvan.co.uk and feedback on here. ..cat's definately didn't like being moved!
