  1. Hi, just wondering if anyone could recommend a good, reliable and decently priced driving instructor/company in south side of Sheffield please? We need to get driving pretty quick. Thank you!
  2. Yeah, 2st5 from August till the op in March. The dieticians are fab at WeighAhead. Shame the wait was so long to get there.
  3. Dr referred me to WeighAhead (dieticians) programme before christmas, I had my 1st appointment with them in May, started my biweekly appointments in August. Had my referral to surgery done the week before christmas (again...) I had my group info session at Northern general in January, met my surgeon in February, had my preop appointment end of February and surgery on 13.3.13. It took doctors over 18 months to refer me to Weighahead as they wanted me to try their diet and exercise schemes first which I did. So, a long road, but def worth it! I have lost 8st6 since last August and since my op in March, I've lost 6st1 ---------- Post added 08-07-2013 at 13:50 ---------- Angelfire1, is there any particular reason you're thinking of bypass? As with the sleeve, you don't get dumping syndrome (99% of people don't) and you also don't have the malnutrition issues as you will still have your own stomach to produce the bile and acids that you won't have with bypass. Me personally, I'm happy that I didn't have bypass due to these issues and I have def lost the same amount of weight if not more on the sleeve. I did go to theatre thinking it would be a bypass, but it got changed to a sleeve due to my liver not shrinking. Have you had your appointment now?
  4. Oh I know about people who dispite of having 75% of their stomach cut off, have managed to stretch it with eating! It is only a tool end of the day, I still gotta work hard and know what to eat and exercise to get the weight off first and then to keep it off. It's a lifelong thing, so a lot to take in at once. Gotta have injections 3 monthly for the rest of my life and my hair is starting to fall out at the mo, but that should stop at 6 months out (I hope!) Would it be worth trying to get on WeighAhead anyway? As it's the same dieticians and I lost nearly 3 stone before op with their help. My mom is diabetic and her BMI is less than 40 too and she's just gone through it too.
  5. I went through WeighAhead programme and as long as you sjow you are serious about loosing weight and you have a BMI of 45+ (without additional issues) or 40+ with diabetes etc, they will refer you. I did go through all of GPs exercise referrals etc and it did take over a year all in all. but oh so worth it! I've lost over 6 stone so far!
  6. Hi, just wanted to see if there was any others who have had the surgery. I had gastric sleeve done 6 weeks ago on Wednesday and find that I'm already eating basically normal food. Not even a tenth of a portion as before though! Getting weighed on Wednesday too, so hopefully it's a good loss! I know I've lost weight as clothes are getting bigger and bigger all the time.
  7. If there is going to be a thread cull a Mod comment would be appreciated. I thought summit was missing! Thought it was just me going mad...
  8. I've had 3 dogs before I had kids, so not a first timer. Our next door neighbour has a labrador and he is stunning, but a bit too much for them and their kids are older than ours. Ours are only 2 and 4, so we don't want the dog to be able to overpower them. We would be perfectly happy with a mix breed as well.
  9. Hi, has anyone got a litter of puppies or due to come soon? We're looking for an addition for our family. Needs to be child friendly breed and not too big. Happy to pay for the dog, but budget in mind. Please PM if you can help or point towards the right direction! Cheers for looking!
  10. Hi, I have an extremely lively 4-year old who I want to find some type of sport activity for preferably in the Manor, S2 area as we do not drive. Most of the stuff I found is either too expensive or for over 5s. Any info would be most appreciated! Thank you!
  11. When I came to England, I only had an Italian passport which gave me the right to work as Italy is in EU. I had to call up to get a temporary NI number (TN, date of birth, F/M) and they will give you an interview within 3 months of the phone call to see if they will give you the proper NI number or not. Foreign workers can work with the temporary number for up to that 3 months. Hope that makes any sense?
  12. Yes it does matter cause we have 2 little boys (nearly 2 and nearly4) and I need to be able to budget. My tax credits/housing benefit would go down and I need to know which one is worth doing. If I would have known the wages, I could've been able to see if I could go back to work full or part time or not at all.
  13. I was going through the assessment etc and when I asked about wages, I got told it was down to experience!!! I didn't finish the process due too this as the company should sell themselves to me as much as I should myself to them. I used to work in a call centre before, but there was certain pay grades that you could achieve with additional training etc, but to have all reps on different wages do not sound good for the company or staff motivation at all!
