As I have repeatedly said, we all have different views. Yours is to prescribe to the underage in order to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Mine is not to prescribe (without parental consent) which then might make the girl think twice about having sex at such a young age. Which is better? Everyone has different opinions and we should all be able to respect each others views, something that is proving difficult in this thread!!!!

Let me try to explain this again, It is not the contraceptives I have an issue with, I myself had to go on the pill for other reasons when I was young. My problem is with a doctor prescribing contraceptives to an underage girl, knowing that her reason for wanting them is purely to indulge in under age sex, That is my problem, I have never said that I did not agree with them being prescribed for other medical reasons and I would like to think that if a young girl went to the doctors with say heavy painful periods that the doctor would do further tests before just issuing them with the pill or implants.

This is a public forum in which people are free to respond to threads with THEIR opinions, why is it that you have such a problem with MY opinion as this is all it is, everyone is entitled to their say and no we are not all going to agree and feel the same way about issues but there is absolutely no need to insult me because I happen to have a different view on things from you!!!!

I never said we should deny under 16's contraceptives, I just meant I don't think a doctor should be allowed to prescribe them to under age kids without parental consent. I would much rather have my child come to me and tell me they were considering entering into a sexual relationship and I take them to doctors, than they go on there own, after all there are many different types of contraception and I would want to make sure my child chose the correct one for them. I am not stupid I know many kids are having sex well before 16, I think a lot of it is about how much information a child gets, and I feel a lot of responsibility is on parents, I myself would never have been able to discuss anything to do with sex with my parents, they were just not approachable like that, which is why I have been very open with my son (13), he knows he can come to me and ask anything, he is currently going through puberty and I regularly have discussions with him about various aspects about it.

I hear what you are saying, but surely there is also a chance that by denying contraception to under 16's without parental consent, it may make youngsters think twice about starting a sexual relationship at such a young age. When my daughter hits puberty I will be very open and frank with her as I have been with my 13yr old son, I will tell her that although I do not agree with underage sex I am not stupid and realise that some kids start having sex at a very young age. I would much rather she came and talked to me about it than told me she was pregnant.

Silly question but where/what is BnM? -
What about the parents of the friend she was supposed to be staying with, surely they were responsible for her while she was staying with them, why did they let her go out so late in dark. Sorry if I have got this wrong, just going by what you have written. I can't imagine what you must be feeling I have got a 13year old child and I do worry when they are out on their own.

Tea house .. tea is the new coffee!
rainbow sky replied to 50's chick's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Think this might be a problem, I myself am a big tea fan but my friend is a coffee drinker and never touches tea, so this would mean we wouldn't be able to go for drink together. As someone else has mentioned, coffee shops usually sell tea as well. Couldn't you sell just a basic coffee but still specialise in tea, just a thought? -

UPDATE Phone was returned to store tonight and a full refund given. I phoned Vodafones technical support this morning and they confirmed the phone was NOT compatible with apple mac software, they sent me an email to print out and take to store saying I had been miss sold the phone. Good outcome, in future I will pay more attention to technical side of things and get as much info before purchase as I can.
