  1. Where is phonestop? Just googled it, near hospital, sorry no idea, have you tried phoning them?
  2. I am not currently a customer and have searched their website looking for a number to call to ask some questions but the only number I can find asks me to punch in my phone number before I can speak, problem is I am with Virgin at minute, so number not recognised. Anyone got a number that puts me through to an actual person?
  3. Sorry if I sound stupid, but if you paid no commission what was the £700 for, or are you including solicitors fees in that price?
  4. I currently have a package with Virgin Media, which includes TV, Phone and broadband. Next month we are moving to scotland and the area we are going to does not have Virgin Tv, so now we are considering our options. The owners tell us they currently have a similar package to us but with sky, but I would really like to have TV that doesn't come with a monthly subscription like Freeview or Freesat. Just wanted peoples opinions on both, thanks. Also anyone any preferences on phone and broadband, Sky or BT?
  5. No not booked yet, we are due to exchange contracts this week with a removal date for middle of April. I am going to phone Avante Removals tomorrow, then make final decision.
  6. Chocolate limes have always been a favourite. Rhubarb and custard Cherry lips and floral gums Does anyone remember oddfellows?
  7. You will definitely need to contact the council regarding planning. Do not let a builder tell you differently. We did similar to our attic in 2003 and at the time our builder told us we didn't need planning permission. We are currently in the last stages of selling our property and the attic has caused a few problems, the buyers solicitor asked for certificate from planning which we didn't have because we had been told at time we didn't need permission. We ended up having to get a guy out from council to inspect attic, he said that it was neither just floored attic or full conversion, he also confirmed that permission should have been sought at time of build, there is something called a regularisation certificate but the council would not issue this unless we removed all plasterboard and insulation!!!!!! So in end we had to ask our buyers if they really wanted us to do this just to get certificate, they decided against it. Just a bit of warning for you if you plan to sell in future.
  8. It's on Charles Street, I love it in there what a shame.
  9. yes thats correct, we have been using them for years they sort us out a new mortgage every couple of years as we tend to go with 2yr fixed rates, and in all that time we have never paid them a penny. I will email you with contact details.
  10. I can give you the name of our financial adviser. They come to your home and show you all deals on laptop, you are then free to choose whichever one you want and they go over everything with you and sort out all paperwork, they are really good company, based in Dronfield. You don't pay them a penny!! Let me know if you are interested and I will give you his number.
  11. I have already posted a similar thread, have a look.
  12. My son took about 15 ps2 games into Game a couple of weeks ago and got next to nothing for them, he traded them in along with some DS and PS3 games so stupidly I never checked receipt till I got home, the most he got for one was £3, most were 20p!!!!!! I would try on ebay if I were you, or try on classifieds on here.
  13. Now got all 3 quotes back, from Pickfords, Specialised Movers and Britannia Movers. Well to my surprise Pickfords is actually the cheapest and by a massive £600!! Still got another couple to go yet though.
  14. I may have got this wrong but Elton John and his partner have had a baby BOY that was the result of using a surrogate mother. They did try to adopt a child but this fell through, which led them to use a surrogate. The baby is def a boy and both of them were at hospital when he was born. I have only just finished reading their story all about it in Ok or Hello ( can't remember which one).
  15. Thanks for this info, it's always better to hear from people who have had the same package you are after, I take it you were happy you decided to let them do the packing for you, I am slowly coming round to the idea of that as well, and found that by the time you consider the cost of all packing materials there wasn't all that much difference in price from doing my own packing.
  16. Thanks for this, I have been getting some mixed reviews about SBS, so might give them a miss but quite a few people now have given good feedback about Avante so I will probably give them a call.
  17. Well I would say "make a cuppa tea/coffee" but then I am Scottish and had never heard the expression "mash" before I moved here, only mash I know is the potato kind, lol.
  18. Our house would need to be emptied one day and goods delivered to our new house in Scotland next day, so van and contents would need to be stored somewhere on route overnight. Also we are now considering having the full packing service, so we don't have to do it. Just had a look on your website but don't see any mention of these services but thanks anyway.
  19. UPDATE I have now had 3 companies out Pickfords ( got price 4 days ago, still in shock, lol) Specialised Removals ( awaiting price but seemed very professional) Britannia (awaiting price, not so sure about these) Still got Henry Speight to ring and possibly SBS. Has anyone heard of or used Clockwork?
  20. I found this link, it tells you what's happening- http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-event/episode-guide/series-1/episode-10
  21. I got a letter from my son's school today saying that they have found a new uniform supplier, they are called "Glue", never heard of them myself. They have also said that the administrators for Classwear have sent out debt recovery forms to everyone who contacted them, well I haven't had one, has anyone else?
  22. I always thought they did pay, only found out they didn't when I read the post earlier.
  23. True but where we are moving to both my kids schools are within walking distance, so that will help.
  24. Hopefully I will be gone by the time this comes into effect, we are moving to Scotland:)
