I hate the ad where the people in various white clothes are punching and kicking to fight plaque - I think its a chewing gum ad. Why???

We bought one last year for our dog, and it's great when we go for a walk on the beach in the evenings when we are at our caravan. We've had lots of comments about it. I might get another one to use at home in the winter evenings, as unfortunately we left it at the caravan when we closed it down for the winter. Doh!

I live on Lister Avenue and when we first moved in nearly 30 years ago, that bloody stream caused us all sorts of problems. When my kids started school we were told that they had to go to Frecheville school as we lived in Derbyshire, but when we went there we were told that because we lived nearest to Seagrave Crescent then we lived in Yorkshire and the kids had to go to Gleadless School. We also found out by chance that we received our water supply from Yorkshire Water but had been paying water rates to Severn Trent for years! Even today we get problems when there has been a lot of rain, as the stream overflows (due to it being blocked up with rubbish where it goes underground) and floods the road.

Oh wow, quizmaster we used to do that too when we were younger! I was born and lived in the prefabs mentioned in an earlier post, they were on Mansfield Drive just up from the cemetery. There were also some further down, just off Hollybank Road, my auntie lived in those. I remember opposite where the bowling alley used to be that there was a quarry with a path down the side of it. We used to go down there, as there was a pearl button factory and we used to go looking for the pieces of mother of pearl from which the buttons had been stamped. Just up Hollinsend Road there used to be an orchard and we used to go scrumping apples. There was also a quarry just off what is now Jaunty Lane on the Basegreen Estate - we used to stand at the top of it watching the rats playing in the bottom (whatever would Health & Safety make of that now??)

We've got an episode of the Simpsons on video (that's how old it is!) where Bart keeps saying b*****d all the way through it. Bet that never makes it on to the telly now!

If it was up to me, we wouldn't even have a widescreen tv in our house. I think they are awful. As for blueray, I haven't got a clue what it is. I don't watch telly all that much so don't really care about all the new technology

Our fire is flickering away on low as I write. I fell asleep after my tea and woke up freezing! Mind you I've warmed up now

I knock down trees, I wear high heels, suspenders and a bra, I wish I was a girly Just like my dear papa Altogether now, I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay..................

It's the whole airport fiasco that gets me down when going abroad - I absolutely hate hanging around the airport for a couple of hours before boarding the plane. And then if your flight is delayed it can be an absolute nightmare - we were once delayed for 5 hours on a late night flight and had to spend the night trying to get some sleep on airport seats - not easy!

We got 2 packets from there yesterday, and they were yummy (well the 1st packet was!)

Our nearly 5 month old Westie likes nothing better than sleeping under my feet, polluting the atmosphere. Occasionally the smell wakes him up, and he looks at me as though its all my fault !

Hi, we had the same problem earlier this year, and also bought an ultrasonic cat thingy. Yes, it works fantastically! Best £16 I've spent in a long time

We had the same problem with ours. I phoned Sky who talked me through changing the channel, and its been fine since

I wouldn't want to leave our bin out as the local youths would take it for a long walk to the top of the estate ! (This happened to my neighbour when she left her bin out)

That is wrong on so many levels (aargghh !!)

Thanks pal !! I would like to nominate my line manager at work, as she is a nasty vindictive person who is not happy unless she is stirring it and causing trouble - but she'll have to go before me, just to make sure she's gone !
