Exactly the same thought occured to me this weekend gone. We have got a DVD recorder with a hard disk drive. Can you record on to the hard drive from one Sky channel and watch another sky channel at the same time -(not very good with modern technology, the instructions might as well be in Swahili)

Last year I met up with an old workmate and she had a really good ringtone on her mobile. It sounded like a little man was stuck in her phone and he was saying things like 'Help, get me out of here', 'I'm stuck' and other phrases on the same lines. She didn't have bluetooth on her phone so couldn't send it to me, and she didn't know where it came from as her son had downloaded it. I have searched high and low on the internet but can't find anything remotely like it. It might be a long shot but can anyone help me trace it/know what it is?

Are we the only 2 people in the whole wide world who can't stand Coca Cola/Pepsi/Dr Pepper etc. Cola tastes bloody awful!

I heard that they did that as a way of getting you in to the shop, so you would then feel obliged to buy something after mentioning the bad grammar/spelling etc

Has anyone tried hypnotherapy to help them lose weight, stop smoking etc? What experiences have you had, and did it help?

We signed up for it in Feb this year, and everything came through within a short time. The only problem we have had is that the wireless network adaptor wouldn't work on channel 6, so I rang Sky and they talked me through changing the channel. It all works fine now.

It's ironic that one of the presenters of Crimewatch was actually murdered on her own front door step - especially after they say that bit at the end of the programme telling you not to have nightmares, crime is very rare etc

If there is a reply paid envelope included with the junk mail, I usually put all the paperwork in that and post it back to them. See how they like it !!

I was walking down to Victoria Keys car park from work one day last week and a young woman with a similar description was walking up, accosting everyone and asking if we could give her 50p as she didn't have enough money for her busfare. I just told her that I didn't have any change, which was actually true (but wouldn't have given her anything if I had)

I used to have a Samsung phone. Bloody thing used to drive me up the wall -I had to set the predictive text every time I sent a message, and if you got a text message it used to bleep, and bleep, and bleep every minute, and you couldn't turn it off. I got rid of the phone and wouldn't have another one. Shame really as it had animated wallpaper which I really liked

My mum's just moved off Pedley after 4 years of being constantly terrified. She lived in a bungalow and the kids were for ever on the roof trying to steal the lead flashing - it's not nice when you are 78 and on your own. She would be watching tv at night and beer bottles would be thrown at her walls. Not long ago someone got stabbed just up from where she lived.

I went to City School from 1966 to 1970. Mr Harvatt was headteacher, 1st year form teacher was Miss Whitham who went on to marry Mr Ward. Does anyone remember Mr Riches who used to teach German - he should have been in the Harry Potter films. Used to sneak round everywhere. Also Mr Clark, music teacher who never turned up for lessons, and gave us 40% in end of year exams for just writing our names!! There's a brilliant website run by one of the ex-pupils - it's called Omnes Amici after the old school song. Has some very cringeworthy photos on it.

My husband has worked there for 32 years. It's now owned by Betafence, and has a very much reduced workforce to the old days.
