  1. LMFAO!!! Total Posts: 47,807!!!! wow some people really have nothing better to do, real keyboard warrior....rude I haven't been rude at all.......like I said before, how anal.....really does make me pmsl
  2. HOW ABSOLUTELY ANAL!!!!!! With all the problems in this world and we get issues like this!!!!.....it is apparent that there is the capability to put time and energy into an issue but could it not be something a little more worth while rather than..."I`m not allowed my ebook" boo hooooo, grow up and get a grip!!!
  3. another update ) so we didnt get a place at FV after all and to be honest we are now very happy that we didnt...We have decided to go down the home education route and although our daughter is still attending school until they break for the 6 weeks holidays she does have to odd day off (i.e every Tuesday and Friday) to go to groups that are for home educated children, she has already made a ton of friends and is extremely happy and can not wait till she finishes school altogether, we as a family are very pleased with the out come and have come across a lovely community of great people parents and children alike )
  4. quick update....i have just rang the school appeals office for the result of our appeal....and we were refused!!!
  5. thank you kimsmum lol yes we also had the same letter as our eldest daughter was at myers grove..there were letters and meetings explaining the plans ect for the new school forge valley and we were all told that children attending the feeder schools would have places at FV only now it turns out that it is very much not the case hence sooo many of being offered places at chaucer, parkwood ect..tbh i`m not holding my breath as so many of us are appealing...you would of thought that when they first made the plans for the new school they would make it big enough!!!if our appeal is turned down we will be going down the home ed path....
  6. eldest daughter goes to forge valley and our youngest attends rivelin valley...we are appealing to get our youngest into forge valley...
  7. yes i understand that!!!but we moved as close to the two separate schools as was available to us (we have two children of two different ages that now attend two different schools)....if the secondary school remained as it were and hadn't of been merged and re-built ect ect then there wouldn't of been a problem with the admissions...as I said before it isnt just us that have been refused but also half the other kids in my daughters year have also been refused places....therefore it is now going through as a group appeal.....i wasnt seeking sympathy just perhaps some helpful advice
  8. hi i was wondering if i could also get some advice ect as i have an appeal hearing coming up in the next couple of weeks..my daughter got refused a place for secondary school...she wasnt the only one though it seems half her year also got refused..she has a sibling already there, she is at the feeder school and we moved home (at great expense) to what we thought was the catchment but we have just found out we are just outside the catchment area.. kind regards
  9. no we have already been offered a plot else where
  10. thank you cant wait to get started...just waiting for the tenancy to come in the post
  11. thanks but we have been offered a plot and have accepted
  12. thanks for the info Hennypenny our girls have plans already for their future as I had to have a sit down with our eldest and come up with a plan of action as she was totally beside herself due to the (I believe) torment she was and is getting from the teachers telling her that if she doesn't do well in her gcse`s and get good grades then her entire life and future is completely ruined ect...I myself was home educated and I personally never sat an exam in my life and its never seemed to hold me back, I have a fab job which I love a wonderful family life ect so its never done me any harm lol.... If we do decide with our girls (it is mainly their decision) to go back to home ed then it will be their choice if they want to go down the path of sitting gces`s but for the career`s that they have in mind they are already on their path to achieve their goals as firstly life guards then on to swim teachers ect with those skills under their belt they can work any in the world and generate quite a good wage but we will see what happens, we are all taking our time in thinking about the decision and really don't want to rush into anything... thanks again for the info its very useful to know
  13. hi all..well I haven`t been on this tread for quite some time now, since 2007 lol but here`s a little update...home ed was all going fine but the girls who were 9 and 6 at the time, decided that they wanted to go back into the school system after about a year of being home educated...now they are 14 and 11 we are considering taking them out of school again in September due to stress the school seems to be putting on our eldest to reach targets and actually getting detentions ect for not reaching their goals even though she is top set for most of her subjects...another issue is now that our youngest is due to move up to comp and join her sister she has been refused a place at that school and instead offered a place at parkwood (i think not)...we will see how things pan out and i will of course keep the thread posted
  14. we have already been in touch and we shall be coming down not this sunday but next to fill in the form to go on the waiting list
  15. please help!!!we are looking for a private owned allotment...we are on the SCC waiting list but they seem to take years so we have decided to try private instead
