  1. I heard these too!!! I thought I was going crazy! At first I thought it was a pack of dogs but then thought it could have been some emergency road works as it sounded like a digger scraping the road up! Glad it’s not just me!!
  2. Hi everyone, I know this is a long shot but..... Did anyone witness an accident on Thursday Evening on Wortley Road, High Green? My mum had parked her grey corsa by the apartments near the cross roads and someone has crashed into the rear corner causing quite a lot of damage - the person drove off. As it was dark the full extent of the damage was not know, on Friday morning my mum took the car to work and when just about to leave the motorway the rear tyre exploded. Fortunately she managed to stop. It makes me feel sick as to what could have happened to her. She's ok but very shuck up. I know this is a long shot but if anyone saw or knows anything please do let me know. We think it was a white vehicle. Thanks for reading Susie
  3. we're having pie, peas and roast potatoes for our evening reception x
  4. Hi all A couple of girlie friends and I are going to head into town Saturday night and we were wondering where the best place to visit - we are 30 somethings!! And like older music and to have a little boogie. Have been to maggie mays before and quite enjoyed it but have heard some not so good reviews recently - can anyone offer any ideas?? Much appreciated! Thank you. Sus X

A very personal bespoke and friendly service!! Really can't recommend enough. Very reasonable priced! Her name was Andrea @ Kilnerscakes.com Enjoy! Susie x
  7. Hi there, Does anyone know where I can find an upholstery shop? I would like to buy ½ inch foam to make a fancy dress costume. Someone mentioned there used to be one near Hillsborough corner, does anyone know if it’s still there. Many thanks in advance S
  8. Hi there, jubilee social club on clay wheels lane is a great party venue and has loads of outside space including a football pitch! there is also the niagra down there also, not sure about outside space there tho.
  9. Hi there, I've done a couple of public events in the passed and many many corporate events. The advice given above is good advice just one more thing to keep in mind is to contact the council, keep them on side and comply with whatever they want. You can also speak to fire and police safety officers who will be able to confirm the numbers of people you can have at certain venues etc. Good luck, event management is challenging but great fun. Be organised. Sus
  10. hi SF... was just wondered if anyone new what is currently being built on the site of the old Super Bowl at Wadsley Bridge? There's only a frame up at present. Thanks Susie

  13. Hi there, I know the star newspaper had an article in there today about a restaurant in Crookes that's won Restaurant of the Year or something similar. I believe it's Sheffield Food Festival week and will be featuring restaurants around the city so might be worth goggling that and see what they recommend. Hope that helps Susie
  14. Hi there, I run a small business from home (i.e. me, a desk, computer, printer and filing cabinet) and due to a change of circumstances now need to move the business to an office space. Ideally i would be looking for the north of the city, somewhere between hillsborough and chapeltown. If anyone has any space to rent or knows of any low cost spaces i'd really apparciate to hear from you. Many thanks Susie
  15. Hi there, I'll make my apologies now if i have posted this in the wrong situation. I'm a volunteer for the Labrador Welfare charity and the moment i'm acting as fundraising coordinator (most of you will stop reading at this point as you'll think i'm after your money! but i'm not) Every year in our region scores of dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own, for reasons from elderly owners unable to care for them any longer to family break ups. Our aim at Labrador Welfare is to provide accommodation and find a new loving and permanent home for these unfortunate animals. Although the charity is based in Sheffield we cover from Nottingham to as far as the North East. In order for us to be able to continue to provide the same high level of care and accommodation, as well as allowing us to continue with our commitment to cover the veterinary expenses of all dogs, over 10 years of age, after they leave our care, Labrador Welfare is to hold their first Family Fun Day at the end of June. The day will consist of Market stalls, bouncy castles, dog shows, face painting, cake stalls etc. We we be running our own market stalls however in addition we are selling 'pitches' to businesses/services/market stall owners. The monies obtained by the sale of pitches goes directly to the charity. Pitches are limited and if anyone wishes to find out more information please do pm me. Whilst the event is aimed to raise money and awareness of the charity are other aim is to provide a fun family day out and everyone is welcome. I will post another topic nearer the time to give more information about the date but keep free the 30 June and bring your families along. The event will be taking place close to the Grenoside area of Sheffield. If your still reading this post thanks very much for your time.
