  1. What is the best way to simply create a video of a sequence of desktop operations for Windows? It's for a website so I'm guessing AVI or MP4 format?
  2. Lucy 7/10 Stylish Luc Besson film where Scarlett Johansson gets super powers and turns brutal bad-ass. Fun and interesting but even Morgan Freeman's gravitas can't help the plot.
  3. Edge of tomorrow 7/10 Tom Cruise, playing effectively against type, does a scifi war themed groundhog day. Good, funny and slick but so loud.
  4. Captain America The Winter Soldier 6/10 Good to see Robert Redford back in the mainstream, still has an edge. On the down side several of the fight sequences seemed to go on and on and on ..
  5. The Machine 7/10 Intelligent UK scifi. Interesting effects but a bit lacking in plausability.
  6. The Legend of Hercules 1/10 The first ten minutes feature an innovative fight scene, the rest? to quote a review 'the cinematic equivalent of waterboarding'
  7. The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug 7/10 Fun with the inventiveness of Jacksons early Braindead and Bad Taste
  8. Thank you, really helpful. I had already ordered a basic mic and preamp but the Ampetronic box looks ideal for a long term solution and my Mothers sanity!
  9. Apparently he is quote 'unsuitable for a hearing aid'. I was thinking of something like this Ebay item: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/High-Quality-Stereo-Pre-Amp-Headphone-Pre-Amplifier-Gold-Plated-Contact-/181297790372?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Amplifiers&hash=item2a3630bda4
  10. I have a pair of cordless headphones (base has standard jack plug) which I need to use with a mic as source in the same room (My father is deaf and my mum has to shout at him). I was thinking a pre-amp with mic input and headphone out would be ok with a basic mic (say from Maplin or Bardwells). Not done this before so any suggestions, ideas welcome
  11. I Frankenstein 7/10 Light but fun, Van Helsing without Jackman
  12. Robocop 6/10 Had hopes for this but seemed like a made for TV movie with a bigger budget.
  13. Her 7/10 A thought provoking attempt at something different, which despite a blandness held up a kind of mirror to modern relationships.
  14. Dallas Buyers Club 6/10 Great performances but an equivocal main character
  15. The Counselor 7/10 Ridley Scott so beautifully shot, written by Cormac McCarthy (who wrote No Country for Old Men) but an obfuscated plot makes it difficult to get into
  16. http://www.w3.org/2002/03/tutorials.html#webdesign_htmlcss The W3 tutorials above on HTML5 are quite good
  17. Yes, it was an @blackberry address The phone, one of the newly discounted Z10s I disliked so much I returned it and went back to my trusty 9300!
  18. Just got a new Blackberry and when I tried to put in my Blackberry email details it showed a screen saying that Blackberry would be withdrawing hosted email services and asking for another email address for up to a years forwarding. Rang my carrier and they offered to move it to the new phone for me but wouldn't comment. Anyone heard anything on this?
  19. The monitor is an LG E2250 with D-Sub, DVI-D / HDMI One PC has a DVI-D the other just a D-sub so will need to slot in a cheap PCI DVI card. Also have an older computer that might be able to put Linux on and stick a DVI card in if viable. Both have USB key and mouse but older one PS2
  20. I want to use a couple of computers into one monitor with a DVI. Ebay has keyboard video mouse switch boxes that do this but wanted to know if it is as straightforward as it sounds? I know there are both digital and analogue DVI so will I need to check?
  21. Fight club Chuck Palahniuk Enjoying it, snappy, quite a 'punchy' read
  22. The Fifth Estate Interesting performance but but not an incisive script
