  1. well today on the radio they announced he was poisoned & then strangled.
  2. A friend of mine is suffering incredibly from having played fast and loose with other women while in a relationship with a women he loved passionately. It really wasnt worth it although I reckon he's now learned how to treat women.
  3. bit like bollting the stable door after it's bolted but you should have got a print out. Did they provide a delivery list & can you cost out the order based on that which will allow you to challenge their costings. To answer your question no it's not legal - but from what I've seen it's very common that when making a comkplaint about goods/services the evidence is tampered with to cover their tracks. Without proof cant see what else you can do. For example do you have a written order/delivery slip of the goods ordered?
  4. reasonable - but you do need to look carefully because the stuff is extremely variable.
  5. You could always leave it out on the street; it's amazing what people take
  6. you could go to the oxfam shop in Broomhill - they've got a large furniture dept. StLukes also does furniture - there's one on Abbeydale Road & another on Eccleshall Road.
  7. suggest you go and visit people in hospital dying of lung cancer - it's not pretty.
  8. If you're goingto do water you really need someone who knows what they're doing to supervise you especially if you'venever done it before because you could have so much toxins in your body tha tyou could have some very unpleasant symptoms eg diarhhea & vomiting etc. Dont know what your habits are but you really do need to cut out tea, coffee, cigarettes & sugar. And then move in to fruit for a few days which will probably more than suffice. Whatever you do it's not mjy responsibility
  9. Currently reading "Hammas" by Matthew Levitt and a forward by Ross. I am really very impressed with the way he writes about this very sensitive subject. It is very informative and really explains the background, history and developments in a convincing, impartial & well argued way.
  10. I was just trying to be polite however on reflection I think they get given a 10-day induction course to ensure council staff dont implement it for cost-saving purposes or is that too cynical
  11. some structure would also help. Terms of ref: one/two lines explaining your objective Purpose: few lines to expand on & give meaning to your terms on ref Method: what you're goingto do and how you're going to do/did the work. Conclusion
  12. it comes down to the fact that as a general rule (and I do accept that there may happen to be some conscientious people out there) they really dont care about doing anything other than the absolute minimum required for their job.
  13. oh & dont forget that they'll charge the earth; Are you sure it's really worth it??
  14. Ther council's care charter is something of a misnomer which their staff forgot to read.
  15. Sounds like they're in breach on contract - it is not the manufacturer who is responsible for the goods but the vendor, ie CPW. Also it is always better to pay for a contract of this nature on a credit card because it provides consumer credit protection & you can then invoke your rights as the (debtor) under Consumer Credit Act 1974 ss 56 &75 which links the creditor (lender) to the supplier (vendor). You could then complain to the credit card company which is obliged to weigh in for you.
  16. Never felt better in my entire life. Water only for a few days broken with carrot juice, water melon, & then introduced light foods such as lettuce, cucumber, peppers & grated carrots. Tasted really delish.
  17. you can invariably get the same from anywhere else for much less thanwhat John Lewis usually sells. I have seen them go out of stock on things where their competitors are sellingthe same item for a fraction of JLPs RRP.
  18. Hard graft all the way down the line. Less is always more & strongly recommend trying to find new ideas from high level people to reinforce your own work. I did that for my final dissertation which resulted in my supervisor & the exam board cleared out the library of the books I'd used just to check it was there & not plagiarised or fabricated - ie it was all new to them.
  19. Just had a further thought - what would the legal beavers do without their daily fix of a forest full of paper
  20. doing this could reduce the sound quality. It may be worth buying the kit if there's more than about an hour's playing time and it also depends how busy you are. It might be worth getting back to your client to let them know of your quandary to sayt you're considering buying specialist kit for their job and that as it will cost £x you hope they understand you're charging it to their job.
  21. Years ago I was organising a large party & asked the shoppers to get me a 1lb of dried qualms from the specialist food shop in the village.
  22. thanks, for that tip., found a few. essentially they're clips which can be used to hold an item in a fixed position while working on it either for silver/metal work or botanical illustrations etc. Some of them also come with a magnifying glass
  23. You'll need a CD/DVD player to do the job. Dont know whether they do foot pedals to work with CDs which is what I guess you're asking for help on. Have you tried Viking Direct or Neat Ideas to see whether they could suggest something to help you out. Otherwise the only way to dealwith this is turning it on & off with your hand which I grant is very tedious & will certainly slow you down in which case I'd include the time in to your billing.
  24. Agreed. What really irks me is the people who complain about things & then dont do anything about their complaints. All that squidge would need to do is to say that she cant see the relevance of the question and can we move on to the next topic end of story.
