  1. The speedbumps I'm on about at Crookes are SPEEDBUMPS I know what a Zebra crossing is and you know what I've found as well? That it's flaming students who are crossing these SPEEDBUMPS usually with carrier bags with booze in.......and I'm a bit jealous to be honest, 'cos I've usually just finished a hard days work.
  2. Yes I do. I wore a pair of my Nike's next to the beach in Devon last week and got hit by a freak wave and now my trainers smell of cat pee. Not good when they cost about £100 each!! I just hope they don't attract random cats when I'm walking down the street......
  3. Does anyone else think speedbumps are a real pain in the rectum? I'm not daft I know that they are needed to slow speedfreaks down, but what's the need for these bumps that are so big?!?! I think the small ones that you sometimes get are so much better and still effective and they don't **** up your car. I think motorists today are getting raped loads by wear and tear from speedbumps, astronomical petrol prices and silly road tax that we see no returns on. I really needed to get that off me chest as I'm havin' a real 'Victor Meldrew' day. PS. What's all this ****** with people crossing on speed bumps too?!?! rant rant rant Especially at Crookes. Look mate I'll run you over! What can I say it's been one of those days peeps.......
  4. There's apparently a wellknown ghost at my work, which I find very worrying I can tell you. I work in the old Radio Sheffield building and lots of my colleagues have seen this ghost - who only seems to reveal herself to men. Some parts of the building do literally send a chill down your spine when you enter the room - which sounds daft but is too true. Put it this way I would not like to be locked in that building all alone.......(!)
  5. I consider myself rather lucky as I'm able to give something back to the community I grew up in. I've had 22 jobs in the last 8 years (last count) and found working for companies that deal with money or specific products (Banks, call centres, pensions etc) are usually the worst to work for as there is too much focus on money and profit, and this can make the working environment ****ty to say the least. The best companies I've found to work for are ones that offer a service of some sort (hospitals, universities, councils etc). I hope this helps in finding an 'interesting' job bookenz(!)
  6. I agree Sheffield theatre is tops! I have recently been to see both Piaf (at the Crucible) and Slamdunk! (at the Lyceum) and both were a good reflection of the quality of productions coming to Sheffield at the moment. Keep it up Sheffield - theatre is the place to be at the minute!
